Pop-A-Lock of New York

This place is excellent. The gentleman who came to my home to rekey my car was in perfect order, he was fast, efficient, and on time. I was incredibly happy with the service given.

This company is a complete waste of time the customer service representatives are rude (Danielle) and will put you on hold to hang up after 15 minute wait time. I had a work order # 385 141 the guy (Chris) was professional but he was didn’t complete the job. I only needed my battery charged because it was dead. Chris stuck around for about 10 minutes and said he’s going to tell his company to get a tow cause I’m outta here. He said «it’s suppose to be green its red» no $h!!! Sherlock!!! my mechanic came after a while and charged my battery. When it comes to Pop a Lock — POP LOCK AND DROP IT call triple A or another company

If there was an option of giving this company zero stars I would have.
I am extremely unhappy with not only the service but also the customer service.
When I locked myself out of my apartment I called Pop-​A-​Lock. They gave me a 30 – 45 min ETA and showed up close to 4 hours later saying there was traffic. I called at 10 AM on a Sunday. There was absolutely no traffic. What I thought would be a simple pick lock situation turned into the service man then having to call someone else to come help because he did not know how to replace the cylinder.
Once the new cylinder was in place I finally was able to leave my apartment for the day. But when I returned I could not get into the door. I then called the service man and he asked, «Mam, have you tried using your key?»
A few days later the door was jammed and I was stuck inside of my apartment for an hour trying everything to get out. So finally I called my doorman to try to open the door. Finally I was able to get out of the apartment and the handyman at my building offered to come look at the door. They then had to AGAIN replace the cylinder because the one Pop-​A-​Lock was either already broken before installation or was broken during the process. I immediately called Pop-​A-​Lock and was told their GM would be returning my call the next morning.
I called multiple times over 16 days with no call back. Let’s remember that this was a $ 381 charge! I finally received a call back from their GM and he could not be any more rude. He asked why I didn’t just ask them to come out to fix the door… I WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN LOCKED IN MY APARTMENT IF I WAITED FOR THEM!!! Not to mention I was so upset with the service I did not want them touching my door anymore. They had already done enough damage and wasted enough of my time and money.
Needless to say, the GM said he will «Call me back tomorrow». The problem is still not resolved and I am furious.
This company is horribly run by idiots.

POP-​A-​LOCK is by far the best!!! Hate to admit but I lock myself out of my house often and they always respond quickly. Also amazing road side service. There staff is professional and quick at all

Terrible, terrible experience. Why does Volvo use these incompetents for their roadside assistance!!! Driver got lost multiple times. Reason why according to driver: company does not bother to equip drivers with GPS! In an era when my 9 year old daughter has GPS on her iPhone. And these guys are in the roadside assistance biz! Would be funny if it weren’t so damn annoying. Took nearly 3 hours to get a simple jump start. Avoid at all costs.

Needed a jump start in Staten Island. Called Roadside assistance. Harry (great guy) from Pop A Lock was there within 20 minutes. Got the car started in seconds. Great first time experience. Thank you!

Mopar sent pop-​a-​lock to give mr a jump today in midtwon manhattan. Frank was super friendly, gave me advice on replacing battery and discussed my car’s electrical issues while we were waiting for the battery to charge. Arrived so fast, professional, courteous, upbeat. Definitely recommend.

Popalock is the most full service locksmith in the a rea. From a new key for your car to a high security lock for your new apartment, Carl and his team have you covered. They make high security keys, sets for managers and fleets, and reach all over New York.

Absolutely horrible service. Scheduled an 8AM call 2 weeks in advance for a locksmith to come rekey our home.
— 8:15AM I call to find out status since no one has arrived, I am told that they can’t get in touch with locksmith and will call me back.
— 8:30AM I get a call that their locksmith has clocked in and will be arriving in 30 – 45 minutes.
I cancelled because I had to get to work and my home was left without re-​keying until I could get in touch with a more reliable place. So frustrating when people don’t realize how their lack of professionalism completely inconveniences your life and schedule. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

The Staten Island Pop-​a-​Lock was very helpful. Mr. Olivera was very professional, came right away. I will use them again.

Would give less if I could. Waited two hours for a flat fix and gave up. The supervisor, Tiana, refused to give her last name or the name of the owner. Received two texts at the 45 minute and the hour point and both were misleading. This service is horrible.

After calling the flat in at just past 11, they finally show up at 3:45pm. Big fail.

Quick and simple, responded in 30 min to jump my car (sent through my car service warranty folks). No charge since it was covered by my service group.
Dispatch was simple and the paperwork was a bit more than other companies, but was pretty straighforward.

Couldn’t be more disappointed in the lack of service!
Blew out tire on highway made it off the road to a parking lot in an area that
was not a safe neighborhood.
Called roadside assistance thru VW.
They quoted 50mins for Pop A Lock to come replace the tire.
1 hour later no one had arrived… called roadside assistance they contacted Pop A Lock and told me they would be there within 30 more mins…1 ½ hours later called Pop A Lock told me they had broken down and would now be to my stranded vehicle within 20 – 25 mins. 2 hours and 15 mins stranded with no contact from the driver my son in-​law drove over an hour to change my tire and had me back on the road within 5 minutes!
Pop A Lock NEVER called with updates or to check on my safety.
These guys should not be a preferred provider for any roadside assistance programs.
Don’t call this company if you have a roadside emergency… they won’t show up!

Pop a lock is awesome. I lost the keys for my 2013 honda Pilot and these guys were able to come to me and make me a new key in 30 minutes for ½ the price of the dealer! Thank you Nicholas for a great speedy job. I always will always to continue to use Pop A Lock especially since they helped me last year and now this. They Rock!
