At Precise Home Inspection Services we provide thorough home inspections that meet or exceed industry standards. We provide the highest quality written inspection which includes photographs and videos of critical defects or attributes of the home. Our inspection includes major systems and components of the home including structure, roof, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems and much more. We have more than 30 years experience in building related construction and inspection knowledge.

In addition to a general home inspection we also provide additional inspection related services including mold inspection and sampling, wood destroying insect inspections (termites, etc.), and radon testing.

At Precise Home Inspection Services we care that you are provided with the right information regarding the condition of your home and you can rest assured we will give you our very best effort with your best interests in mind.

History

Established in 2007.

After serving in the US Air Force in an elite civil engineering squadron I began my career in the private residential construction field as a site superintendent and project manager. After 25 years of working for others I wanted to own a business that I could develop on my own. Homes and construction were in my blood, and along with my desire to help people in terms of providing them with good, solid information regarding the condition of their home led me to open my own home inspection business. I am thankful that I did, and so are my clients. In my career I have built and inspected thousands of homes and have provided a valuable service to my clients and I look forward to continuing to do so.

We have recently bought our first house and John did a fantastic job inspecting it. He is very professional, diligent, thorough and educating. We were first time home buyers getting a 100 year old house with no idea about the things we need to pay attention to, and we were extremely worried. John examined every single detail and corner of the house, showed how things worked, reassured us on the large scale, pointed out the flaws and risks, and made invaluable suggestions about the fixes we need to make. One of the best home inspectors in Staten Island and I dare say in nyc. Jon was professional, honest, respectful and has a wealth of knowledge.
A first time home buyer. He put things into perspective. Spending so much money, you need the correct information to make the right decision.
Jon took his time to investigate the house and go over the deficiencies/​flaws of the house. I learn so much about the house.

Buying a home for the first time is a frightening ordeal. Your broker will tell you use this guy or that guy, and you’ll secretly wonder if they’re all in cahoots. That’s why we went out and found John Gromkoski, and he rocked our home inspection world. He showed up early, and was already surveying and measuring the exterior by the time we got there. He shook everyone’s hands, handed everyone business cards (even though we already hired him) and then proceeded to photograph, measure, unscrew, crawl, climb, note, question, unplug, plug, switch and flip every freaking inch of the apartment and building. His report was well laid out, with annotated photos and highlighted sections that made everything easy to read. We learned more in those 3 hrs than we thought we would. His prices are very reasonable considering the service we got, and it is the one part of this whole experience so far where we feel like we haven’t been screwed in some small way. John, thank you.
