Time to update my review.
I never met a stop & Shop I didn’t like. This location is no exception. I do most of my food shopping in a few places and stop and shop as brand is one of them.
This location is for the most part clean, not immaculate but clean. I’ve never experienced any «out of stock» issues here and freshness has never been a problem.
What makes stop and shop better than rest is their Deli, Bakery, and their health food sections. Their deli case is stocked full of different salads and hot meals which are unique to stop and shop. Their cold cuts are good too, any place that stocks boars head brand is ok in my book. The bakery section is bigger than any grocery store on Staten Island and boasts some kick a$$ cheesecake. Artisanal breads! On Staten Island? Yes they have that here.
The health food section is a nice size and cannot be beat. You’ll find brands that you won’t find locally and they have about 6 different brands of soy milk for those who want to live a long healthy life.
Prices aren’t the best but look at what you’re paying for. Quality. Gone are the days of cheap food. They say you are what you eat right? Why put cheap garbage into your body?
One thing that could stand to be improved at this location is the fruits and veggies. There have been a few times were there was spoiled/​rotten fruits and veggies that were both on display or hidden in packages. For $ 10 cherries they better be near perfect or better. I’d skip buying fruits and veggies here.
This is one of my go to stop and shops and I recommend you try it out!

This store is borderline disgusting. The Men’s room is nauseating. I want to know if employees that handle food are supplied with a sanitary bathroom. Many foods in various departments, including end caps without pricing. Voluminous amounts of fruits & vegetables that should have been removed from the shelves. Several didn’t have pricing displayed. Not enough registers open (surprisingly) & self checkout was a nightmare. Do yourself a favor, go to a convenience store. It’s cheaper, and less of a hassle. I can’t help but wonder if the people that inspect this place, were awake.

Disarmingly cheap. I caught a great special at this giant supermarket it was buy one london broil and get one free. Then I got the giant 28 oz cans of plum tomatoes for only a dollar that were name brand. I also was able to get pastas for only .59 CHEAPER than the dollar store. I loved this store, it is gigantic and well stocked and super clean too esp. the bathrooms

probably one of the worst deli departments in any supermarket on Staten Island. Slow, inefficient and incapable of taking the simplest of orders without the customer needing to repeat it multiple times. the computerized ordering system is never plugged in so in order to get anything from this section you have to stand around and wait for a protracted amount of time while a couple of kids cut your cold cuts and the others are talking amongst themselves. when the computer is function I have witnessed the staff come from behind the counter and kick the plug out on more than one occasion. if you want cold cuts and don’t want to spend half your day waiting I suggest you send a message to big business supermarkets and patronize any of the local delis in the area instead.

This Stop N Shop is one of the better ones… Staff is polite and friendly and you do not have to deal anyone selling bootleg dvds…

I don’t understand how EVERY time I go to this stop & shop I wait for an extremely long time at the deli counter. It happens every time. At just this stop & shop. What seems to be the problem?

It was a real hoot coming to this supermarket with my mom. I grew up on Staten Island, and worked at this store when I was in high school and it was still Shoprite. They’ve done a major, gut renovation since the late 90s. It’s enormous. I’m grateful now to live in Manhattan where we have tiny supermarkets, because I would weigh 500 pounds if I had so many options when I went grocery shopping. So many cookies! So many potato chips! More ice cream in this one store than we have on the whole island of Manhattan!
But I digress. The prices are low, the store is clean and well stocked, and they have the fun self check out registers.

Speaking for the Stop & Shop in New Dorp, this is the best option for food shopping on the island. The produce section is consistently organized, clean, and turned-​over. Offering great deals for shoppers, you can earn points for dollars off your gas purchase at Shell, plus earn free Starbucks coffee for every sixth venti you purchase at their Starbucks — yes, this supermarket has a Starbucks inside! The isles are spacious and well-​organized, making even the newbie have an easy time navigating the sections. The Stop & Shop brand, Nature’s Own, is organic and delicious — especially the canned tomatoes! Respecting the new age foodie, Stop & Shop has recently renovated to include organic isles to please even the pickiest of shoppers. Thumbs up… and who’s hungry?

BEWARE!!! This particular S&S is selling expired products. I just returned (yet again) a chicken Parmesan with pasta that was expired (bought from the prepared food section, the food that has S&S label on it)
Unfortunately, my 2 year old son ate almost a quarter of it before I noticed on the box it had expired the day before. When I went back to the store to return it, I stopped by that department again — out of curiosity– and there were several other boxes expired mixed with the ones that were good still. I just hope my son does not get sick now!

This particular Stop & Shop is always a disaster. The deli counter is way to small and understaffed. The produce section is pretty sad looking and poorly laid out. I always find there are nowhere nearly enough cashiers working at this particular S&S, so check out times are always longer than they need to be.

Its okay here, really large so it takes you an hr or more to food shop unless you know where everything is. But they do have everything and self-​checkout keeps the lines short.

Clean, well stocked and well located stop and shop. I have always been able to find what i am looking for. They have a florist in the front of the store– prices were a bit high for my taste but they had a pretty good selection.

What is the point of offering self-​scan & self-​checkout if the clerk has to assist you at the checkout? If shoplifting is such a huge problem with self-​scanning then maybe it should be eliminated.

Still can’t believe king Kulan is gone now it stop and shop but still shop here a lot and there’s great deals onces a week :)

Just wanted to write a review i needed a hard to find item in the store and Brunie one of the employees come to find out shes a supervisor came to the rescue. She found the item and even said my name over the loud speaker !! Woo hoo she just went above and beyond. Brunie made my day and completed my recipe. thanks BRUNIE!

Regular shopping spot now when I come to Staten Island. The place is huge and has all of the regular grocery items you would need. It’s always well-​stocked and they also have a bargain/​sale shelf, where I can find some of the stuff I’d usually buy.
Great selection, pretty fast lines for a supermarket. Would definitely recommend if you live in the area.

PROS: clean, super easy and convenient «scan it» check out.
CONS: horrible selection of baby food.

I love my Whole Foods but when in Staten Island. do as the goombas do… so Stop and Shop seems to be the closest to my ideal supermarket.
Prices are great. Sales all the time. Stop and Shop card that acts as a mini key chain saving me money. Workers are good, day and night shift. Express Self Checkout for under 12 Items which I love, I’m sorry cashiers I don’t want yo to lose your job though…
Flower Shop, Pharmacy, Bakery, DVD section, Toys, Books, Makeup, and a Starbucks all inside this wonderful SUPERmarket.
The one thing I find strange or maybe ironic… the last aisle of the store is «The Final Sale» stuff, big clearance products… and it shares its shelves with a strictly Jewish selection of products. Even the decorations that stretch across the entire «final sale» section is decorated in Blue and Gold with Jewish Stars hanging… hmmmm anyone else spot a stereotype here?

Best Supermarket on Staten Island. Well stocked, nice staff. Super clean!

Spacious, well stocked, and clean. Th employees are helpful enough, parking is available, equipped with multiple electronic self serve registers so there are no lines or wait like in other large supermarkets, a Starbucks, Coinstar, and a $ 1 dvd rental machine for your added convenience makes this place a great neigborhood supermarket.
