Pls share with friends & family on Facebook & social media… This Restaurant, particularly staff & owner Charles Wonsowitz, discriminates against people w Disabilities… and those that need service animals! This has to be stopped and not discrimination & abuse against people w disabilities requiring the assistance of service dogs will end!!! My dad(82 years old) took me & my family & my SERVICE dog Nyxi to this local restaurant on SI — Ws bar & grill. This Local restaurant that we have been frequenting for over 20 years was completely empty, no other customers except for us(table for 4 people). Nyxi immediately sat at my feet and did not move. The owner, Charles Wonzowitz immediately came to the table & stared me & my dog down. Before he could ask any questions I voluntarily showed him Nyxis service dog license & appropriate paperwork, he said ‘fine, but the waitress, Daniele, is refusing to serve you.’ With that the ‘bartender’ had to take our orders & serve us. After finishing our meal without incident or problem, the owner again came out & told me in front of my entire family that ‘if I came in the restaurant again with my SERVICE dog I would have to eat OUTSIDE’. My father was mortified & said ‘Charlie you don’t even have dining outside!!!’. I told the owner that he was violating my rights & gave him a card regarding my rights as a disabled person & about my SERVICE dog & where she is allowed to go &ADA laws. He threw it on the table & walked away. He was rude, humiliated, & embarrassed me & discriminated against me. Me &(and my service dog) are protected by the ADA& the federal government against such discrimination. If I required a wheelchair or crutches or a walker would I have been abused & discriminated & harassed the same way? Would I have been told I had to eat Outside? Truly Disgusting behavior by staff & owner!!! I will be filing a formal complaint w the ADA& the federal government, & I will be speaking to an attorney and the local newspapers. Please support the Americans with Disabilities act and do not patronize this restaurant!

I have to disagree with BJM. Their Cheeseburger Deluxe is very good. It has a nice Charbroiled taste and comes with fries and fresh coleslaw. The Buffalo wings are the best on Staten Island. They compare with the Buffalo wings served by the better establishments in Buffalo, NY.

It’s been a few years since I was last here and wow has this place changed. Not just the bar/restaurant itself, but the entire shopping plaza. From dingy and run down, to a more modern appeal. Anyway, on to W’s! This bar was once a favorite of mine and my friends. Nearly every Monday night football game was watched here for several seasons(not sure if they still do this, but there used to be a all the wings you can eat and domestic pitchers for $ 20 during the game). Since we’ve matured and decided we cant gorge on wings/beer every week of our lives, we haven’t been back. This past Sunday we decided to pop in for the Giants game. The wings are just as good as I remember(better than average for a bar for sure) and plenty of new and different menu items. Tonight was a wing/beer night so nothing else was sampled, but as far as bars in this area of SI go(Tottenville) you can’t go wrong by checking this place out. In a place otherwise void of good options, W’s stands out for sure. Friendly bartender and waitresses are usually the norm. Plenty of parking in the lot, especially if you’re going for a night game when the other stores are closed.

I really wanted to like this place. A local bar in the neighborhood… We got in around 7:30, and the female bartender told us we Couldn’t open a tab because she was leaving in 30 mins. Who does that?!? The wings were ok. Saucy and spicy but a little too vinegary… The 8:00 bartenders seemed better but we didn’t stick around. And the food comes out on a separate bill!!? Why?!! It’s the same place? And the bartender couldn’t take my order a waitress had to come over from the restaurant. Not very customer centric. The place is better looking than before but they need to realize they can cultivate regulars if they treat them better.

This place used to be covered by tinted windows. You couldn’t see in and it felt like a private society club. But now that they have taken the tint off the windows we ventured in. I’d highly recommend all of the burgers the meat is cooked fresh never frozen. I also like to compliment the W’s crew on the wings they are nice and crispy never soggy and a generous portion is given. This has become my neighborhood favorite place to go. I would give it five stars however the Bud Light is always warm on tap I don’t recommend it. Prices are very reasonable.

Food is all terrific. The staff and owners are friendly and its a great place to relax. At night the bar crowd is never rowdy and on weekends some nights there is live music with no cover charge. Not expensive at all. Order a burger or the wings. This is my go to spot for lunch since I work in the neighborhood, and my favorite place to grab a beer or 2 after work. Recently renovated bar area is easier to get thru to enter and exit. Love this place.

Keep going back for their chicken pot pie, burgers, good beers and great company. The waitresses are very friendly, always taking good care of their customers! Beer on tap!

The Burgers were excellent! The fries were decent. My friend wasn’t very impressed with his sandwich or soup. The décor was a little dingy. The service was pretty slow. Worth it for burger lovers, but I wouldn’t go there with a group for whatever else is on the menu.
