Good bar food and great drinks. It is a nice place for billiards, darts, or just hanging out and talking. It is smoker friendly and the smell can be pretty strong, but as long as that doesn’t bother you, definitely check it out.

Smelled bad/weird when we entered the first room. Barely made it into the next room when the stink intensified and smoke smell was overpowering. We turned around and left, because there is no way our group could’ve eaten there with that smell.

Walked in a half hour before last call and were made to feel unwelcome. Owner and bartender were rude and acted like they were doing us a favor pouring $ 7 beers. Place reeked of stale smoke and stale beer. I’d only recommend(Not-So) Mighty Mikes to Cowboys fans and members of ISIS.

My wife and I live in Herndon really close to Sterling and have been looking for a dive bar to call our own. DC prices are so high, that we both have decided after a recent home purchase that we needed somewhere cheaper to go to on occasion. We’re both pretty much country folk(if I’m being honest) and appreciate a bar like this. I work in Old Town Alexandria and have enjoyed all the tourist attractions that place has to offer, but I was seriously in need of a place like Mike’s. Yes, the previous reviews are correct, there is smoking here. Neither my wife nor I smoke, but come on people, it’s a bar! I’m a big boy and don’t mind being subjected to smoke occasionally. Trust me, it’s not habit forming. Three pool tables(pay by the round in quarters) and dart boards adorn the interior. A well stocked bar is in the same vicinity. There is a non-smoking part of the bar which to me is more like a dining area. I’ve been there three times and utilized the non-smoking part once. It was indeed free from smoke. Our most recent visit was last night which happened to be a Thursday. The happy hour special was $ 1.00 domestic beers(bottles or draft) before 8:00 p.m. and much appreciated by us. We had wings and nachos on top of that and enjoyed both. I thought the wings were perfect, but the nachos were full of diced canned tomatoes making the nachos a bit soggy. I still finished them off anyway, just with a fork, and they were decent. We stuck to bottles with the beer, because on the previous two visits both of us agreed that the draft beer we had was not cold enough. We were happy with the bottles. This place will definitely be our hang out. It’s just a few miles from our house and the regulars are nice enough. You can’t beat the prices and the atmosphere is something we both appreciate. Know what you’re getting into, but it’s a good experience all over.

I was staying the night in Dulles and asked at my hotel for nearby restaurants. I was looking for a place with a bar, and Mighty Mike’s filled that bill. When I walked in, I saw that it was full of dart boards and pool tables, and booths scattered throughout. One of the waitresses approached me smiling, asking if I was meeting someone. She told me to sit anywhere. Within a minute or two, my waitress(Shannon) appeared, and asked my name for my bar tab. The menu was extensive, and I wanted one of everything! There was a sandwich with pulled ham, pork, bacon & bbq sauce and cheese! Hog Heaven! I ended up ordering Colonel Potter’s Pot Roast which came with two sides. When it arrived, it was HUGE! Two 10 or 12″ plates — — one had the delicious shredded pot roast with jus, and the other plates was fries, tater tots and cornbread. It was all perfect. What made the meal even better was the regular visits from Shannon, making sure everything was good. She and the girl who cleared my plates kept referring to me by name, and they always had the best smiles and attitudes. Yes, there was an ashtray on my table, but I think I only saw 1 or 2 people smoking, and the place was packed. I am soooo glad I chose this restaurant, and hope to get up in that area again so I can get some more of their great food and service!

Old fashioned«bar»… That’s right. Its a bar. Its not a trendy place that requires proper attire. You will smell like smoke so, consider yourself warned. Food, beer and locals are all good. One of the last few good places in Sterling.

as soon as you pull that door open a stench of stale cigarettes smelll hits you. the non smokers have all but some small non smoking section the heavy smokers have the rest to smoke and smoke and smoke. sit at the bar? smokers to the left smokers to the right and the bartender smoking. you’d have to bulldoze that place to the ground to get rid of that smoke which has permeated everything. I TRIED to order a meatball sub but they ran out on a Monday afternoon. And i didn’t exactly feel welcomed.

Not much to say… needed to have a family meeting with the cousins and we just stopped in late to talk and grab a few drinks. Service was ok. I didn’t eat but no one sent their food back. We will stop in again so I can give a proper review.

I wish Unilocal had an «Incomplete» ratiing. This past weekend was dull and cold in Reston/Herndon, so I figured it would be a great weekend to seek out other places in the area that offer Buzztime Trivia. Ashburn Pub on Saturday night was a strike. Mighty Mike’s was a miss. I emailed them about 2 weeks ago and asked about their set up — do they have a full stocked bar with a non smoking section that has Buzztime Trivia? Never got a response — why have an email address on your website if no one monitors it? Fast Eddie’s has a smoking and non smoking bar, and offer Buzztime at both bars. So I visited Mighty Mike’s over the weekend and was blown away by the cigarette smoke. How did this place get a pass for smoking when nearly every other place in the area did not?(And places like Fast Eddie’s and Rampart’s in Alexandria have totally separate bars, with separate ventilation systems, for smokers and non smokers.) Since so few places in the Northern VA area offer Buzztime trivia, it seems like an absolute waste to have Buzztime at a smoking bar. I stayed for one beer and left, and went back to Ned Devine’s in Herndon.

Stuck at the airport Marriott Dulles for 4 days with the road crew for Aerosmith. Unilocaled for a good bar, and found Mighty Mikes. Spent 3 nights in a row there. Good food, good darts, good juke box, great staff! Larry the mgr. and Amanda our server were fantastic! This is the bar I look for in every city, and rarely ever find. Viva La Mighty Mikes!

This is a dump, unless you are a redneck and like to fight don’t go here. The bouncer likes to pick fights and the bartender is nasty. She feeds people drinks until they are so drunk the bouncer finally gets the fight he wanted.

As a nonsmoker, the worst thing about Mighty Mikes is that it’s mainly a smoking bar with a nonsmoking section. Coming from a family of smokers, I am mostly used to it, but at the end of the night you will smell terrible. However, once you get past that, I can’t find anything else to complain about. It’s a down to earth bar, with an eclectic set of regulars, and an interesting muddle of different types of people, mostly who are just there to relax and have a good time. Foodwise, for a bar it has one of the most varied menus I have ever seen, and most of it is delicious. You have your ordinary bar staples, the fried foods, but past that is a huge selection of burgers, and dinner entrees. Grilled chicken breast, with several option to style, steak, meatloaf, tortellini, spaghetti. They also have all-you-can-eat crab and shrimp twice a week, and a specials section that changes often. Everything on the menu has a humorous name, so you have to be sure to read the menu, and get a kick out of some of them. Most of the staff are friendly and approachable, and are usually quick to make rounds and get whatever it is you are looking for. Half the time you can find the owners in there as well, and are also approachable and friendly. Most people would say that it’s a redneck bar, and from all appearances I wouldn’t disagree. But I also don’t have a problem with that. And the owners are now working on updating the interior and improving how the bar looks. But I would suggest anyone to at least give it a chance, I think you will be surprised.

This is a dirty country-boy hangout, the food isn’t bad but unless you are from the sticks, you won’t like the atmosphere.
