I had the unfortunate opportunity at Zazas with a massage.
She clearly was not a professional massage therapist .
She had me face down for 55 minutes.
I asked her to massage my feet twice and she ignored me.
I asked how long did she work at Zazas she said «I don’t know .»
The massage was her rubbing oil on my body.
Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Will not return. I am in the industry and am well aware that she didn’t know what she was doing.

Last minute mani tonight and it was amaze! Hannah did a great job with my gel mani and the salon was quiet and so relaxing! She gave me a nice shoulder and neck message while my gel dried and then a hand and arm message too! So relaxing and just what I needed on a Friday after work! Can’t wait to go again for a pedi!

My wife was in there 9 – 26 and observed 2 nail technicians kick off their sandals and stick their feet up on tables where she was getting her nail done. This has grossed her out and she will not be going back there.

OH MY GOD.
I live in Stoneham and have been faithfully going to Gloss in Melrose for many years. They’re so successful, you must book an appointment 3 – 6 days ahead of time. I couldn’t get an appointment so I thought I would try Zaza for a second time…
I went once before about 9 months ago and it wasn’t clean, my service was extremely rushed and each nail was crooked.
I now know there is no chipped manicure and no availability at Gloss to get me to EVER set foot in Zaza again.
It all started when I walked in, I said I had just called for a gel manicure appointment. The same woman that did my nails last fall looked at me, rolled her eyes and told me to choose a color.
I sat down and the towel was covered in dirty nail trimmings. She asked to see my hands and I refused. I asked if she was going to change the towel. She whipped the towel up, flinging the dirty clippings all over the stations, at me and the floor. Then she folded the same towel down to the station. I asked if she was going to get a clean towel. Here’s the best part… «YOU EXPECT A NEW TOWEL EACH TIME!!!» She stands up, huffing and gets a clean towel. I should have left right then. She scoured my nails down to nothing to remove the existing gel polish. My nails were on fire and throbbing and she kept ferociously filing away despite my discomfort. The nail file was so old & dull, it was like trying to cut steak with a spoon…
She engaged in some unprofessional and rude small talk. She said «you have never been here» yes, I have. «I forget you.» Okay, great thanks for making me feel welcome in your nail saw dust cess pool nail salon.
Anyway, she filed my nails down to such a short length that they’re tender and each one is crooked. I asked to keep the length of my nails. I washed my hands, got a good look at them and tapped out before polish. She is furious that I’m leaving. She says $ 10, $ 13… $ 18. I didn’t even care. I paid & gave a 20% tip. She walks away without anything to say.
Also– a woman walked in for her appointment and they said refused her. There were two technicians watching tv… I was so confused. I would love to see this place shut down.
Go to Gloss in Melrose! It’s worth booking an appointment and you’ll have the best service and perfect nails!

I only go to see megan ! She is the only one that knows what she is doing. The owner is extremely rude, I was waiting to pay for about 10 minutes while she turned her back to me and talked on her cell phone. On top of that. I made an appointment with megan to get a pedi and she made some kid who had no clue what he was doing do it. Megan was available too! I thought he was just bringing me to the chair and taking off my previous polish, not the case. I have no problem with someone being on the cell phone at work but when there is a client waiting to pay you money and you turn your back and stay on the phone and don’t even acknowledge the client that is a problem!

Only nail salon I trust with my nails. I only go to Megan because she knows me by now. I love that I can come here and she knows the colors I like and how to shape my nails. I have acrylics that I do shellac color over. She’s good with suggesting colors. I love getting a Pedi from here as well. Detailed job and never hurts me.
The salon has a great selection of colors, OPI, Essie and Shellac colors. Also, the salon is very clean and has a spa like vibe.
Also sometimes when your nails are drying they give you a complimentary neck/​shoulder rub– which is amazing :)

What a professional beautiful salon. My friend and I stopped in after work for a pedicure and received the royal treatment! Great work on the pedicure and they let us bring wine! I will definitely be returning!

I have gone to several nail salons and ZaZa is by far the best place for mani, pedi and waxing. Since I first visited ZaZA several years ago i would not go any other place for my services. the place is immaculate and the personnel very friendly. the décor is done in all warm colors to which also relaxes you.
they serve water an excellent touch and now serve snacks. I tell you where can you get all these amenities? Everything they use is sterilized and taken out of a sealed package as they use it on you. The prices are also reasonable. I recommend everyone to try this salon and you will continue to return. They do large parties whether it is a birthday, wedding party or just a large party to get together. You all enjoy.

I am responding to your message to my daughter, Marielle T., who posted a review on 4÷18÷15. It is not my habit to write reviews but I want to address some issues regarding our visit to your salon on Saturday, ⁴⁄₁₈.
First, let me say that I was a very good customer over a period of several years. As you know, my daughter is in college and lives in New Hampshire. She comes home to Stoneham to visit me every two weeks. During her visits home we like to go shopping and then have a relaxing spa manicure and pedicure. I have several medical problems with my legs and feet and very much enjoy the leg and foot massages. It is therapeutic for me.
Secondly, I spend on average $ 140.00, in cash, at your salon. I also tip each technician $ 10.00 each! Therefore, I feel that I was a very good customer for you, but, on Saturday, I have to say that I did not like the way we were treated. Your service was extremely unprofessional and our experience was very disturbing.
You seem to be placing all the blame on Megan, but, she was not the only problem. Let me give you a list of items that I would consider extremely poor service:
1. You used the nail file to file down my gel polish so hastily and aggressively that it caused a painful burn on the skin under my nails.
2. Pedicure — the water I was soaking in was cold and not pleasant.
3. Before you began the pedicure I asked you for an extra 30 minute massage for both me and my daughter. You loudly said «No not today — you mean here? Now? We have party of 8 coming in … » I was stunned and embarrassed! There were two ladies sitting to my left that were receiving long soothing and luxurious leg and foot massages with lotions and hot rocks I do not understand why you would refuse any customer an extra service — especially a good customer like me. Of course I was willing to pay extra.
4. When you applied water from the sprayer to rinse my legs the water was so hot that it almost scalded my skin. I had to tell you to stop.
5. When you were ready to apply the polish, I kindly told you that I brought my own flip flops. You snapped at me and loudly said «not now, later.» Again, I was embarrassed and felt very uncomfortable.
6. You DID NOT provide ANY massage at all (even after I asked for extra time) and pedicure was rushed. I was done well before the two other ladies whose pedicures were already well in progress long before mine.
7. Manicure — while soaking my hands in water — the confusion between Megan, my daughter, and the chair began. Megan could have handled the situation differently and just offered my daughter another chair, or just got another of the 20 empty chairs and said nothing, but, she didn’t. Instead, she loudly told my daughter that she was in her chair. This made Marielle feel like she did something wrong and she also felt embarrassed and uncomfortable.
Once Marielle wanted to leave after that, you physically, firmly held my hands down in the water to stop me from getting up and joining her! This was a littly scary.
You apologized for Megan and explained that she didn’t mean it the way it sounded, but, by that time, I was already very upset with the whole experience.
8. You must have asked your other technician to massage my shoulders to calm me down at this time. NEITHER I, NOR MY DAUGHTER, EVER ASK ANYONE FOR A SHOULDER MASSAGE!!!
9. My gel manicure is not well done. The color is uneven and is too thick at the tips. I am not pleased with the job you did.
10. You tried to confide in me about problems between your employees and how they don’t listen to instructions. I told you that that was no excuse. Those problems are between you and your employees and that the customer should never be made to feel uncomfortable.
11. I paid $ 90.00, a tip of 10.00 for you (which was very generous on my part because I was not happy with your service), and a $ 20.00 tip for Cindy, who well deserved it (she did a good job on Marielle’s gel pedicure).
I got my nails burned off down to my skin, a cold water express pedicure, refused extra massage service, almost scalded by a hot water rinse, snapped at about bringing my own flip flops, a bad manicure, my daughter got scolded by a technician over a chair, and, we left feeling anything but relaxed. We were (and still are) extremely upset and frustrated. This experience ruined our day!
You keep saying that you gave me a discount and didn’t charge us for the massages. Again, WE DID NOT ASK FOR SHOULDER MASSAGES!
We are nice people. We are kind, generous, and also God loving. We come to you in trust that you will take care of us and treat us kindly and respectfully. You did not do that on Saturday. We felt hurt and insulted by the service you provided. Therefore, we will not be returning. I wish you and your staff the best of luck and success in the future.

DO NOT COME TO THIS NAIL SALON!!! Me and my mother look forward to getting manis and pedis every 2 weeks. We reside in Stoneham and convince is a big factor for us. Week after week we gave «ZaZa Nails» the benefit of the doubt. Our last and most recent experience was absolutely the final straw!
We came in after a long work week asking for a «Spa Pedicure» with an extra massage. We were rudely told NO and that they were busy and had a group of 8 coming in at 3:30. They rushed through our pedis with barely any massage or nail shaping. They were only concerned about quickly getting through customers and not about the quality of their service.
They are RUDE, DISCRIMINATORY, and CONDESCENDING. They simply do not care about the customers needs. One of the technicians named Megan was one of the rudest I’ve ever encountered!
This Nail Salon is terribly managed and quality of the service is worse than any salon I’ve ever been too, and may I add, we have been to DOZENS. They talk about the customers in their language and make one feel very uncomfortable.

I’ve been going to Zaza for the past couple years. I’ve tried a handful of other nail salons in the area but Zaza is hands down the best. The Zaza team is incredibly helpful, friendly and very good at what they do. Plus they offer massage and waxing devices. Amazing!

I have recommended this place to everyone and have been going there for months. I went the other day and got an infection in my toe/​foot from the pedicure. Went to the doctor and they said it was from the pedicure equipment being dirty. My manicure smudged so I went back to have them fix it, and it was worse the second time, they looked awful and put 3 coats making it so thick. I also feel like they were too busy but took me anyway and we not prepared, the last few times my nails have not come out great, but I was giving them a chance. I will be calling to tell them about my infection and then I am all set.

I never write reviews. I work in the industry where customer service is important. When I first when to za za I was obsessed — I told everyone about it. Over the past two months it has gone completely down hill. I have only a little time each month to get my nails done. It’s supposed to be relaxing and fun, a reward after working two full time jobs. I asked the tech for squared nails– not paying attention — and I look down and I was horrified! Half my nails were squared, slanted different ways and some rounded– it looked like my 4 year old niece had done them! Then she got up and left me sitting there for 20 minutes. When she came back I had asked her I fix it and she rolled her eyes and spoke in Chinese to another tech. I’m sorry I thought I was paying you for a service? Then, someone else comes over because I was upset. She tried to fix them but chipped them and made it look worse.
Then she took my back to add «gel» to them– I didn’t ask for this and at this point I just want to leave. She saw me starting to write the Unilocal review and begged me to stop.
I will say there was one girl (the owner) who was so sweet and tried her best to help me, but I had already been annoyed and aggravated for over an hour but other than that I’d rather go to the mall and get a 20 manicure.
So sad– I used to love this place!

I’m not going here again. I made an appointment to get mani/​pedis with my sister. We arrived on time. Forty-​five minutes after arriving, they started my pedicure. If I wasn’t waiting for my sister, I would of walked out. Terrible service. No apology, no discount, nothing.
Sorry, Zaza. No more recommending your spa to my friends, and you will never see me again.

So, I had a gift card and decided to get a pedicure and a full set of gels (winter ravaged my natural nails). I made an appointment for said services and arrived expecting greatness considering the glowing recommendations I got for this place. My expectations were lower– just expecting decent.
My tech did a decent pedicure, but it lasted MUCH less than 30 minutes. My polish is okay, but it is quite sloppy in some spots. The tech kept trying to upsell products and services at every turn. No, if I wanted gel polish I’d ask for it. And after I say no, that should be the end of it.
Moving on to the nails– ugh. First, the tech starts doing a straight up mani, and seems to not know that I booked a gel set. Ok, so I remind her what I wanted and clearly said FULL GEL SET. Well, by now, I’m irritated and want this experience to be over. Of course, she starts doing acrylics. Whatever, just finish the job. She keeps on saying my nails should be long. NO. I should get gel. YES, well that’s what I wanted. My nails turned up uneven, sloppy, and totally unacceptable. This was $ 20 mall nails worthy. One nail smudged immediately and instead of removing the polish, she painted over it, and didn’t bother to apply a topcoat. Of course, they bubbled and looked like crap… Crap to the tune of $ 62. I have a professional job and can’t walk around with sloppy fingers.
Fast forward, to my complaint to the manager. She agreed they would fix the issues. The new tech starts by looking at my nails and says she’ll make them thinner and even them out. Of course she pulls out the grinder and catches my cuticles multiple times but it was because I got them done yesterday (POOP). I was fed a bunch of BS about how my nails (artificial at this point) were too short, and short is hard. Considering, i’ve been getting my nails done for about 20 years, I feel I know what is normal and expected of any service. Simple things like making sure the free edges are covered in polish wasn’t done. They look better, not great, but passable for a couple weeks.
I’m happy they agreed to fix the poor service I received, but I will not be back. Maybe other techs are better, but I don’t care to find out.

Been going for several years. Decent work done and at least appears clean. I like Tina the best.

Excellent service. Great «menu» with a wide variety of options. Very accommodating, attentive and friendly. Clean. Decent pricing. Plenty of parking. Can’t wait to go back!

I made an appointment today for a manicure and pedicure with 2 nail technicians. When I got there, I was told they were running 45 minutes late. I then asked for a different technician for my pedi. I was taken in in about 10 minutes. When finished, I expected to have my shellac done by the technician I reserved with. I was told that she was «tied up»! I got another technician. When I got home, I inspected my nails and my thumb was not polished correctly. Time to find a new salon! If you value your time, don’t go!

I went here with my brother’s girlfriend for a mani/​pedi girls afternoon and we loved it!!! She is VERY picky (as she is great at doing her own nails) and said she would definitely return.
The place is very clean and well maintained. The color selection is great. The staff is friendly and they all do a great job.
I will definitely be returning and this will be my new go-​to place. I encourage people to give this place a try. After just one time I do not feel you will be disappointed.
