Staff is always friendly but the store, itself, is very ill equipped. At least 60% of the mornings I go there, they don’t have enough stock of most breakfast sandwiches/wraps. I’ve even tried to buy lunch sandwiches for breakfast and they only ever have maybe 6 sandwiches available to sell for the day. Considering it is one of the only Starbucks in the area, you would think management would consider keeping enough stock for the volume of people going there.

Service is great but the store is kept messy and not very clean. Also the atmosphere is cold and loud

I go to the Starbucks in Stony Brook at least twice a week when I go to work at my spa that is also located in Stony Brook. I always deal with this particular barista by the name I think Cassie or Casey not sure, but my drink is perfect every time. The entire staff where I work here in Stony Brook go there and the same girl always deals with us and it’s always spot on. Love this place. Very cozy to chill, study whatever…

I am a regular at this store I love it and I was there when Kyle p was there and he is a rude idiot I figured I’d go on to see if he wrote anything just to call this guy out. I usually don’t write reviews on anything but I felt I had to let this guy know how pathetic he is… The guy told you he didn’t make your drink Kyle and offered to make you a new one. You didn’t give him a chance… I’m at at this store all the time and that’s my boy he makes great drinks. Suck it Kyle

I asked for no whipped cream and the female barista still put it into my latte, so I try not to make a big deal out of it. Later, I decided to buy one of the glass cups and when she puts it into the paper bag, she breaks it and it was the last one. Just ridiculous. This starbucks needs to hire some better employees.

Pretty good, it gets super busy so be prepared to wait a while to get your drink. I don’t like to stay because there is rarely a good place to sit and the couch is, well, gross. But it is the closest Starbucks near me, so when I have a gift card I like to get the frappacinos.

Let me start by saying I am a Starbucks Barista myself, working at a licensed store for about a year now. This store is one of the closest to my home so I figured i’d give it a go. 1st time I went the cashier was horribly rude. I didn’t get her name(I should have) and just felt disgusted after that. I decided to go back about a week after, with my sister again, and this time a guy and a girl were working. The girl took my sisters order and the guy took mine. Girl left my sisters drink order on the back line and left to go to the back. The guy was nice and apologized once he realized it, making her drink and handing it off. I have decided that the girls working here must have some sort of attitude problems so I won’t necessarily be coming back anytime soon. 3 stars for being so clean and getting my drink right.

You would think it’s Starbucks everything is laid out for them and in black and white, even a monkey could work there and follow the recipes but not here. I been there. 3 times in the past week since I been training for my new job in the area. I get the same drink everyday. It is the lime refresher. All 3 times I got it this week they all tasted very different. Inconsistent and 3 different people I noticed made them. I chose to write about the nasty lady who works there by the name of Cassie. She was there earlier in the week and today and she shouldn’t be allowed to work there. If my daughter ever treated people the way she did I would lay the law down on manners and remind her that the customer pays her paycheck. I heard her be nasty to other customers earlier in the week for anything under the sun. Today she tried to do it to my wife had I figured today would be a great day to let it out. My wife got her drink and said it didn’t taste right and told her she asked for a hazelnut iced coffee with room. My wife was told that she could make her own room over by the counter, then she said the hazelnut is on the bottom you need to mix it. My wife understood that and asked if she could put more in her cup. Then Cassie went on and said next time ask for a double shot of hazelnut if you aren’t pleased with the amount we put in and we will charge you for it. My wife said thanks and walked out the door. I held her back from going back in throwing her drink at the girl and maybe worse. My nieces who went in with my wife said she was very rude and the next customer out said she always is nasty and she knows people who don’t go to this Starbucks anymore because of her. I wanted to bring this to your attention and hope proper action is done. If she was my employee I would probobly put her on final warning or fire her. I’m just happy I won’t be near this Starbucks for atleast 6 months until my next training class and hopefully I wouldn’t have to go out of my way to find a new Starbucks since this one is less then 5 mind from the training facility.

It’s an average Starbucks. I agree with some other reviews, it’s kinda dark inside. There was a decent amount of seating. When I went here I was trying to read, found a seat and got my coffee. The patrons were all chatting, studying, tutoring quietly, however in the 3 hours I spent here the employees were crazy, rambunctiously loud! I couldn’t see them from where I was sitting but they frequently had outbursts, yelling, laughing and carrying on, I’m glad they like their job, and their co-workers, but come on… some of us are clearly here to read/study. It was unfortunate how distracting it was. I like Starbucks but may not come back here to study. I need some more quiet.

I’m a big fan of this Starbucks. The staff is great and will always hook you up with an extra shot of espresso if you ask nicely. If you don’t like something, they’ll make you a new drink– free of charge. The food is well stocked and I can always have my whole grain bagel with low-fat cream cheese, whereas in other locations it’s always out. This is a great place right off Stony Brook’s campus for students to come study, since the on-campus Starbucks has lines that are out the door.

I like the staff here. I come here once in a while after I take my daughter to swimming lessons on the weekend. I also come here to pick up coffee for friends and customers when I am in the area. Big sitting area. Bigger than almost all other Starbucks I have been in. 8 total table to sit at. Spread apart. 4 big chairs. Clean.

Stopped in here on my way to Kings Park(?)… Not really sure where I was or where I was headed, but I stumbled upon the radiance of this Starbucks on my way to do a doorknock for work(don’t ask). But wait… I parked my car right in front. Where’s the«NOSTANDINGANYTIME» signs? Will I get towed here? If I make it quick, maybe I’ll get back before a traffic cop swoops in and gives me a $ 115 ticket. Oh, wait. I’m not in NYC anymore. WHEREAM I??? Nevermind where the hell I am. They have a FREEPARKINGLOT(that’s like pavement heaven to NYers). A spacious, clean SBux with super friendly service awaited me and my tired self after having driven about 200 miles already. The guy behind the counter must have been the friendliest barista I’d encountered in months.(Sad, but true.) Got to use my $ 2 sweet receipt and got my skinny mocha frap… Mmmmm… prob one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Too bad this place is in the middle of nowheresville — I would be here all the time!

There’s nothing like the feeling of getting your coffee made the way you want it and the staff at this location know what they’re doing. I stop here on the way to work a lot and the baristas here make great drinks. Too top it off they’re very friendly too!

If imagining the location, think more St. James than Stony Brook area. It’s right on the ‘border.’ Staff were friendly and helped me find what I was looking for for my sister(some new coffee to go thing). Shelves were stocked unlike many other Starbucks, and the place seemed clean. «Mr. Met’s» words ring true though. For 10PM on a weekend it did seem very dark inside, however, there was plenty of seating, and combined with the quiet atmosphere I did not really mind it. Parking lot on premises.

Smaller, less cozy setting. Very gloomy, not enough lighting for reading. Not recommended for studying — more for just sipping coffee. Somehow, this is the preferred starbucks over the one in East Setauket. I like the East Setauket one much better No problems with their drinks — consistent. Bathroom clean, customer service decent. Parking can be hard at peak hours. Next to duane reade and a tanning salon. Visit J&R steaks for some good steaks.
