History

Established in 2003.

The business was originally opened by a woman who had to sell the business after 18 months due to family health issues. The current owner, Steve Ziegler, was leaving the shoe industry after 30+ years, and was looking for a retail opportunity into which he could channel his creativity and years of retail /​wholesale experience. He purchased the shop in March of 2005 and has been busy remodeling the store while creating a small gallery featuring local artists. During the last nine years the shop has grown steadily and has gained a stellar reputation not only in Stow and Maynard but also in the surrounding towns of Bolton, Harvard, Acton, Sudbury as well as other local towns. Star Custom Framers has earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and guarantees your satisfaction.

Business Owner

I not only own Star Custom Framers, I also am the full-​time manager of our shop. I have a lengthy background as a designer in the footwear industry which I have been successful in utilizing in the design elements of picture framing. I have also taken, and continue to pursue, numerous classes pertaining to the the specifics of constructing preservation picture framing as well as new concepts in design. Our shop is not only a proud member of the Better Business Bureau, but also Angie’s List, the Assabet Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce, and the Professional Picture Framers Association. We take great pride in sponsoring local organizations such as the Asabet Valley Little League, the Acton League of Women Voters, and several local organizations associated with the Arts and local schools. We aim to be a good neighbor for the towns we service.
