Best bakery in the area! Always a great, fresh selection! Great coffee, friendly staff, and clean environment! Highly recommend stopping for a visit if you’ve never checked out this little treasure!

Local bakeries are a treasures if you happen to have one. There seems to be a lack of them in NH and no, the ones in the supermarket chains do not count (Sorry, Market Basket) where they are essentially baking frozen doughs and batters.
Sweet Dreams Bakery does a fine job offering items you would typically find in a bakery. I’ve had their cookies, bars, breads, and chocolate covered strawberries and all were good quality.
The especially good thing about this bakery is that the owner is normally at the helm in the store and he’s super friendly and helpful. He always has a smile and genuinely appears to be happy to help you… imagine that in this world where retail shopping is severely lacking in customer service.
Yes, the prices are a bit high here as it’s a small operation; however, if you want items that are not simply baked from frozen, and if you want service witha smile, I’d stop by this local bakery as soon as you can.

This is one of the best bakeries I have ever experienced. The blueberry muffins are one of the signature items; very large and full of berries.
The staff is friendly. The bakers are working right out front. They have coffee and tea selections. Everything is fresh and they will take orders for just about anything.
The cinnamon raisin bread is unlike any you have ever had. YUMMY!

I have lived in town for years and Sweet Dreams bakery has some of the best baked goods in the area. I haven’t tried the soups or sandwiches so I can’t comment on the quality of those. I have tried the pizza, and it wasn’t that great, but hey, this is a bakery after all, so the baked goods are the most important thing there.
Insider tip: try the 5 layer bar and the raspberry cream cheese filled croissant. You won’t regret it. They also have deals where you can get baked goods from the day before for really cheap, which is great if you are watching your wallet.
Also, great customer service from the girl with the red hair.

I have probably visited sweet dreams a dozen times in the last 5 years. I have had a couple of sandwiches there and they were of average quality, on nice homemade bread, but Super Expensive. This extended to the CANS of soda which, if I remember correctly, are $ 1.85 each. When I gave up on going for lunch, I would occasionally stop for a breakfast treat. Just about every time I wanted an iced coffee, they were out of ice. I liked being able to grab a coffee, a pastry, and a small dish of fruit salad to make it feel a little bit healthier. The fruit salad was always marked up double or triple what you would pay from the grocery store salad bar. That wouldn’t be so bad, but they store the fruit salad in the same case as some of the quiches, and chicken salad, etc. Have you ever had a cup of fruit salad that tasted like chicken? It’s not pleasant. It’s even worse when you just paid $ 4.00 for ¼lb of it.
Other times I had noticed that some of the items seemed to hang around for a while. I can remember stopping on a Saturday afternoon for an iced coffee (they had ice!) and a brownie. The brownies were arranged on a plate and there were probably 8 or 10 of them. It was, by far, the most stale, and most disgusting brownie that I had ever been served. I went back the following Wednesday and there were 2 or 3 brownies left on the exact same plate. Their age, at this point, was quite obvious. I questioned the man behind the counter, and he told me that they had just been put out and were only a day or two old. I mentioned that they looked like the same ones I had been served 5 days ago, and that they weren’t fresh then. His response was something like «oh, I don’t know… maybe.»
I don’t know if it’s true, but I had heard that their business had gone through some tough times. I can appreciate that they’re trying, and I would like to see them succeed, but I think that St. Anthony’s Bakery does a much better job. Will I go back to Sweet Dreams? Oh, I don’t know… maybe.

Stopped by here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a cute little bakery that also makes sandwiches, soups and quiches. We managed to get almost one of everything is the baked goods case and there wasn’t anything that we did not like… Anise cookie was my favorite while the pecan pie square was my fiancé’s favorite.
I can’t comment on the soups and sandwiches, but I will definitely be back to try them.
Worth the stop, I promise.

This is close by my work and I’ve driven by a time or two not really thinking to ever go in. A client the other day mentioned that I HAD to stop in there for lunch and try the tuna. So, I did! I went in for lunch this past Thursday and got just that! Tuna on a Spinach Wrap.
The kid behind the counter was very informative and friendly which was great, me being a newcomer and all. I also had to try the coffee as it was recommended by another one of my clients annnd one of the cookies because, after all, it is a bakery! Lol
So, the Tuna was awesome! Though, I wish they had a better type of «to go» parcel as there is no place to eat inside and I thought it all might blow away out of the «half-​box» thingy they gave me. When I saw that the coffee was New England coffee, I already knew I would like it, cuz it’s one of my faves. Unfortunately it wasn’t as hot as it should have been :(but still good! The cookie was huge! Took me 2 days to eat and it was everything I’d want in a cookie!
It’s good to know this place is not bad since it’s less than 2 minute from work. Also, it’s a plus that everything is natural. The only issue i’ll have is going in there for lunch and not getting dessert! Eek!

This is one of my regular places to stop for an excellent cookie!
They have the best peanut butter cookies I have yet it find. Grab a cookie. They are only $ 2 which is a good deal for the size and of course TASTE!

Lemme sum up: Good neighborhood bakery with organic/​fair trade choices
I was out and about with my niece and we needed a little «smackerel» of something to tide us over until lunch time. As we were currently on Rte 33, I pulled in to Sweet Dreams, knowing that we could find something she’d like.
While I would have LOVED to have ordered a crème de menthe bar cookie, my niece preferred a small anisette cookie with colored jimmies. I’m not a fan of licorice flavor, but I have to say that this cookie was pretty good. It was somewhere between soft and brittle in body. The icing was a simple powdered sugar glaze which made the colored jimmies stand out and added just the right touch of sweetness. And, thankfully, it wasn’t some huge monstrosity, but a proper drop cookie like mom used to make.
While I was tempted to grab a cup of fair trade coffee, I decided to go for a bottle of milk and challenge my niece to a milk mustache contest. The young man behind the counter just smiled and wished us a good day.
There were plenty of baked goods that whispered «Eeeeeaaat meeee!» from the two pastry cases. Thank goodness my niece was more intent on getting into the car so she could have her cookies and milk. I looked over my shoulder and promised I’d return to enjoy that crème de menthe bar cookie another time.
If you stop in, save one for me.

The BEST carrot cake. I’ve had every type of cake Sweet Dreams bakes and I continue to go back for the carrot cake. This cake has the perfect balance of ingredients. So many carrot cakes are over «spiced» leaving nothing but a nutmeg/​cinnamon taste in your mouth. This cake is incredibly moist, no raisins (YAY!) and chopped walnuts on the outside edges only. The cream cheese frosting isn’t overly sweet; nice and smooth. It’s the perfect compliment to the cake.

My husband bought me a very expensive cake for my 40^th birthday. My moto is that I have never met a cake I didn’t like. This was true until I had a cake from Sweet Dreams. The cake was inedible. The frosting was horrible… it was just pure butter. What an embarrassment to serve to guests. Nobody ate the cake. I brought it back and got a refund.

We live on the same road as this bakery and have tried several times. The staff is eager to help and very friendly Maybe we’re into sweeter baked goods? I purchased a pecan pie around Thanksgiving time to bring with me to a party, and it was just bland. I tried again with some muffins on a Sunday morning, and again, bland. These were the pumpkin with cream cheese muffins, and I was expecting great things. I will say the cookies were just fine, but again, on the bland side. Just being Picky? Perhaps. The lemon bars are awesome and the quiches and pies look amazing. YUM.

Ah, sweet dreams. The stuff of… uh… dreams.
In addition to offering all of the wonderful things a bakery has, Sweet Dreams has some great breakfast (quiche, bagels, fruit) and even lunch choices.
I typically brew my own coffee at home, but if I should run out this is the first place I go– partially because I believe this gives me an automatic excuse to bring home a tasty baked treat.

This is one awesome bakery! I really think that I would explode if I lived closer to Sweet Dreams, it’s that good. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but we realized after a while that there are always cars parked in front and we wanted to see why. One bite and we figured it out.
