Rama Davis

Rama is a fantastic body worker. Friends suggested I visit for a recent injury. He took the time to understand what happened, offered recommendations, and dug in deep to help me recover.

Rama is AMAZING! He has absolutely changed my life. I have had chronic shoulder pain for the last five years; serious, prohibitive, life interrupting pain. I had tried massage, acupuncture, chiropractor, cortisone injections, etc, with no results. Going through the Ten Sessions has not only drastically reduced to eliminated the pain, but it has restored my ability to play sports, sleep on my right side, lift and carry heavy objects, and generally live like a healthy person.
Rama made me feel very comfortable immediately, his bedside manner rocks. His jokes, while TERRIBLE :) :) :) create a great atmosphere for the often intimate work that he was doing. It could be super weird to be in your underwear in front of someone you don’t know, but it wasn’t. By the end of the first session I was so excited by the improvement in my shoulder positioning, I completely forgot I was walking around in my undies.
Having completed the process, I carry around Rama’s cards and hand them out to people all the time. I cannot recommend him enough!

I sought out Rama over a year ago (using a massage session as a test run) and signed for the S/​I ten-​series with him. When I walked in the door, I’d been through the wringer with lumbar disc herniations. This included years of fruitless epidurals and Rx pain killers along with immense frustration at my physical state. Chronic pain is an incredible drain on the body and spirit.
Rama helped me in so many ways:
There were visible differences in my posture. People told me I looked taller.
I no longer suffer plantar fasciaitis pain. The whole-​body approach really helped me become healthier overall and that, in turn, makes me happier overall. I am able to exercise more than before and as a result my health has improved immeasurably.

Rama is awesome! I finished my Ten sessions of rolfing a few months ago. He really helped me work out some of my lower back pain. He absolutely knows the body and how to help work it. He’s very aware of what’s going on and how to help you fix things. He takes his time and really works with you to have better alignment and posture to keep the good work going.
To top it off, he’s just an awesome guy. I looked forward to just spending the time with him he’s so interesting, relaxed, and willing to help you do the work. Rolfing is not for the faint of hear, but his demeanor makes it sooo much better!

So here is the crazy thing… a year later… and there is still no one like Rama. I even went to a physical therapist post car accident, and the entire time I just kept thinking «This isn’t doing anything… but Rama would be able to help me.» There truly is nothing else out there like it.

I am on session #6 with Rama and I can not believe the change in my body! I work out a lot and am so pleased with the reorganization of my body. I can move easier, am more flexible, my migraines have even become less frequent ! Rama is so knowledgeable and really leads you (and your body) thru the process every step of the way. I can’t wait to get in and see him for my next session. Oh … The office is cute and there is plenty of street parking available also! :D

8 mos ago, I completed my 10 sessions of SI with Rama. My body continues to withstand and flow with my physically demanding day job. I’m looking forward to another «maintenance» session soon!
For all seeking balance with your body– I sincerely recommend Rama’s SI sessions.

I’ve had rolfing sessions once before in 1995, but never Structural Integration. SI is a completely different (and far more pleasant) experience. Rama is professional, knows what he’s doing, explains everything in a comprehensive manner and is a lot of fun to boot! He loves what he does and what more could you ask for when someone is working that intensely to relieve your aches and pains? I’ve have nine sessions with Rama and I feel my body has changed all over the place for the better. He personalizes each session to you. He does not worry about the time it takes (meaning he is not distracted by the clock)… your session is as long as it takes to achieve that session’s goal. I really cannot recommend him enough.

I’m currently on session #3 and I definitely already notice a change in my body. Rama is great, very relaxed and accommodating — and he knows his stuff. It’s also refreshing that he does whatever is needed for the session to achieve the results, he’s not watching the clock and itching to get done like many natural practitioners.
I know I only seen a fraction of the potential benefit that will come from this work, but I’m already very satisfied and would definitely recommend this work to anyone. It’s a great value and investment in your health!

Rama rocks! I can’t recommend him highly enough. I initially found him on Unilocal,and I didn’t really know what structural integration was and had never had any S.I. work, so I didn’t really know what to expect. But after completing the 10 Series, I feel like every human being should have access to Rama. He is smart, personable, positive and reeeeeeally knows what he’s doing. In addition to learning a lot about my body and how to use it in healthier ways, I got great physical results including life-​changing help for my knees. As a runner, I suffered with tendonitis ever since high school. I’d run, and no matter how much I stretched, if I ran too much my knees would hurt. I thought it was just a fact of life, but — now that’s all GONE! No matter how far or fast I run, I don’t have knee pain anymore. All these years, I had no idea that ‘fascia’ was playing a role in this problem or that it was something that could ever be fixed. Fortunately, Rama did. Viva Rama! Another amazing, unexpected (and hard to describe) benefit of the 10 series with Rama is that it made me better looking. (!!!) Weird thing to say, I know, but one of the sessions is dedicated to the neck, head and face, and afterward I could see that I had more symmetry in my face, I looked more relaxed AND the fascial release stuff he did to my cheeks fixed a little smile glitch that I was considering having botox or plastic surgery to correct. I have to say it again, Rama ROCKS!!!

i just finished session 7 of the 10 SI series with rama. i had been exploring SI as an option for me due to chronic pain from poor posture and alignment issues. as an active person (soccer, run, snowboard), my chronic knee, hip and back problems were really beginning to impede my performance. i did a lot of research beforehand and was drawn to SI because the process is a permanent change to the body. i chose rama as my practitioner due to his experience with athletes.
my experience through this process has been quite extraordinary. everyone’s response to SI is going to be very personal and somewhat different, but to date i’ve experienced improved quality of breath, improved speed, improved balance and significant improvements with my alignment and posture. others have commented on how i look taller and more relaxed as well. after session 7, i measured my height and i stand nearly an inch taller than i did the last time i measured myself. obviously, i didn’t grow; this height «gain» is from the process and my body’s own ability to stand taller as rama and i have worked out my frozen fascia.
the whole thing would feel really hippy-​dippy to me if not for rama’s practicality and coolness factor. rama is a careful and thoughtful practitioner. his professional space is open and clean. he answers all your questions carefully and thoroughly. he explains everything and obviously has great passion for the work. his readily shares his knowledge with you as his client so that you are able to absorb and adopt the changes happening with your body. he is a great listener and sincerely cares that you are feeling and seeing improvement in your body.
i am excited for the last 3 sessions and to feel and experience how my body will change over the next months and years. i can not advocate enough for the SI process (i am a convert and it is worth investing your massage therapy dollars at some fancy spa into the SI series). i have recommended rama to numerous friends and teammates because i believe strongly that he is one of the best SI practitioners in southern california.

Rama Davis uses the Rolf technique to relieve joint pain, improve posture, sculpt the body and improve overall phyiscal and emotional health. t least that’s what he’s doen for me over the last 10 weeks. I came in barely able to walk due to joint pain. I’m not sprinting — yet — but now I actually enjoy walking and moving around. Plus there is an accompanying emotional release as sore and stiff tissues are released. Overall this is a tremendous regimen for personal change. For me it was a major turnaround. A side benefit is that the body sculpting actually makes your body look more toned. But the main benefit is how much better you will feel.

First off, the space where Rama has chosen to do his SI work is VERY comfortable and peaceful. The music is great and completely relaxes you while he gives you one of the best massages I have ever had. He is continuously perceptive to how you are feeling before, during and after the session. He makes sure that the applied pressure is both comfortable and effective during the session, and is very open to explaining and letting you know what areas you might not have known you were tight in.
I am a graphic designer and spend most of my days at a desk in front of a screen. Sometimes for many hours on end, so a lot of my tension is in my shoulders and arms. The day after my first session with Rama I felt much better and a lot less tense with little to no soreness which I sometimes feel after other massages. I am looking forward to the next session which I hope will be sooner than later. I feel very lucky for having discovered such well learned professional of healing.

I heard Rama was a great massage therapist from a friend in Mammoth. That is an understatement! I completed ⁹⁄₁₀ Rolfing sessions with him but unfortunately for me he has relocated to SoCal. I also made appointments for massage in addition to the Rolfing. I spend most of my free time skiing and cycling. I needed some serious help with chronic muscle and structural problems. Rama is a true professional and expert in his field. He has helped me keep on biking and skiing more than chiropractors or any other massage therapist. He’s reasonably priced and worth every penny. I highly recommend Rama!

I’m currently thru session 7 of the 10 part Structural Integration series with Rama. I’ve never had SI before so it’s hard to compare against a previous experience, however, my gut says Rama’s work is among the best. I’ve already noticed favorable changes, the sessions are casual and comfortable, and I can tell Rama is passionate about his work so inevitably that comes across as very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend him as a practitioner.

Okay! This guy is the real thing! I normally go to Burke Williams in Sherman Oaks to get Massage, Facials, and other body work done, but last week I was recommended to Rama by a trusted friend… but I was very skeptical. I was confident that a business like Burke would employ the best of the best. I was dead wrong! This guy blows any spa massage therapist out of the water!
He performs his work in a very spacious, clean, and relaxing room (awesome music) that made me feel even more comfortable than at the Spa. BEFORE the massage started he asked me several questions about how my body felt and really took note of what I told him. When the massage started and throughout the session, Rama checked in to make sure how I felt about the pressure, the temperature of the room, and any discomfort. Sound standard right? Here is the kicker… This guy knows the body. As he was working, he was sharing his knowledge with me about the different muscles in the body and how they affect other parts of the body. He educated me on the benefits of Structural Integration and how it differs from massage, chiropractic work, and other forms of muscle work. Holy Lips! This guy knows his stuff!!! Right there I knew that I was dealing with someone who has a true concern for everyone’s well being and not interested in just «relaxing» his clients; a true healer. I left smarter and more equipped on how to keep my body feeling at its best. It has been two days now since my session and I have had several people comment on how tall I was today and that I had a «glow» about me. I feel like a rockstar!
So if you want the real deal with someone who is concerned about you AND is quite educated (you should see the certificates on his wall… impressive) this is the guy! I can’t wait to start my Structural Integration sessions to continue this awesome feeling… and neither should you! GO SEE HIM!!!
