Established in 2004.

Within the walls of 3000 square feet, at Suburbia Salon and Spa we have created an environment which is friendly, vibrant, and where everyone is treated like a star. At suburbia Salon the customers from all areas can retreat to the centrally located San Fernando Valley and receive the same quality of service that Westside locals have been experiencing for years. The highly qualified stylists are always busy creating hottest looks every day. Being always busy even in this economy reflects something positive about our services.

We are getting rave reviews for our Pedicure services. Our clients are calling it a 40 minutes of complete Bliss.

Skin services: Microdermabrasion, Facials, Brazilian /​Bikini wax, Chemical peels, Permanent make up.

Thursday evenings are a treat for the clients, when they can relax with a glass of wine and cheese, while waiting or getting their services.

On Saturday mornings our clients enjoy fresh Bagels and cream cheese with freshly brewed coffee.

Nuria did my hair color (no time for cut yet but will be back for that eventually!) First, she’s a very talented colorist in my opinion. She really listens and gives you what you want/​and also what need. I loved the mix of ombré and traditional highlights she gave me. My hair looks like it did when I was and little girl and would lighten up naturally from the sun! The color she gave me is the BEST I’ve ever had, no lie. I feel like a Victoria’s Secret model or Sofia Vergara with the color she gave me (I think it’s always a good thing when your stylist makes you feel as sexy and fierce as a model!) Next, her humble, friendly, and outgoing personality makes her a joy to be around. I feel like Nuria’s personality would go with just about anyone— she’s open, friendly, non judgmental, and not gossipy etc. I liked the salon too, bright white and good lighting for colorists to objectively see your hair. I’m so happy, I will be coming back to see Nuria!

I’m late writing this review, but Tina gives the best cuts ever. You won’t find a better bob. I’ve been going to Tina since 2012 and have always been super happy when I leave Suburbia. I’ve also gotten extensions from Nuria when I wanted a longer look, and she did an impeccable job. Brittany is great with color and once took me from a muddy too-​dark disaster to an incredible sunset red! Seriously, the whole team here is great.

I have been coming to Nuria Contreras for years. She has had a huge impact on me, in so many ways. She is by far the most incredibly talented hair colorist, brilliant stylist and always has innovative ways of cutting hair, regardless of how long or short it may be. To find one person who can cut, style, color, then add extensions with such perfection and creativity, is an understatement.
Every where I go people always comment on the color, how «gorgeous» it is, then remark about its fabulous cut and style. But the best part of my experience with Nuria is that not one person, young or old, knows or sees that I have extensions! she meticulously places 4 – 5 colors of hair extensions on my own hair, which she has also put 4 – 5 colors that blend naturally with each other. She genuinely cares for every individual who sits in her chair, and listens to their needs.
Nuria is more than a hairstylist, she is an artist, and someone you can trust your hair too!

Randomly booked an appt since I was leaving town and couldn’t see my regular person at my regular salon. Color came out really «off» and wasn’t happy at all. Staff seemed nice enough and I liked my stylist but I won’t be back. Boo.

I love this place! Rick is so amazing! If you need your hair cut then do yourself a favor and go see Rick! He does not do color and I have not had color done at this salon but I have heard good things. It is reasonably priced for LA and you are definitely getting your money’s worth! Rick’s assistant is so sweet and the rest of the people I’ve come in contact there have been fabulous also! Definitely go see Rick!

Such a great salon. Fun. Clean. Everyone is always so helpful. If you go. You MUST see Brittany Axelson. She is the most fabulous hair stylist in town. I always leave the fate of my hair in her hands and she never ever had let me down. I even went from long to short!!! If I have ever have any color issues she never ever minds me coming back in and having it fixed. Free of charge. Please make sure to see Brittany at Suburbia. You won’t be disappointed.

Brittany Axelson is my angel! I made the mistake of chopping my hair and two days later I came to her to put in Extentions. I get so many compliments on my hair and how natural it looks! I always leave her feeling so confident. With having Extentions it’s also a work out washing and blowing out my hair, luckily I have Brittany to do that now! Best blow out EVER. She’s super flexible with my schedule and we ALWAYS have a good time. I can go on forever on how much I adore her!

Krystal Torres has been dying my hair for about 6 years now and may I just say she has taken me to blonde and back and my hair is still lush, beautiful, and healthy! She gradually added in the most gorgeous blonde highlights to ensure that my hair would never be damaged and the results have been magical. Called to make an appointment and got in the next day no problem. I was greeted by friendly faces when I got in. Jen came right out to greet me. She sat me down and we chatted about what I wanted and what she thought I should do. She was honest and super sweet. I actually had to take a conference call midway through the appointment and Jen was more than accommodating. When she finished my hair she waited for me to get off my call to make sure I was okay with my cut and style… And yes, I loved my hair! I will definitely be going back to see her.

Krystal is patient and awesome. She took her time explaining the hard process I had to do before my hair looks at it’s greatest.
I had to come twice in a week but after all I think she nipped it in the butt this time. I hope she continues to be my to go place for new and better hair days!!! I wasn’t charged to perfect my hair this time which was awesome!!! Thank you Krystal. And I apologize for prejudging the outcome of my hair. See ya soon :)

My new spot!
Across from my spin class and next door to one of my fave restaurants I had been eyeing this salon for a while. I finally have high quality layers in my hair again and what a huge difference. Their waxing services are also really good and I felt comfortable there in every sense. (clean, patient, etc).
