SLDA Landscape Design

It is sad to see what has become of this landscaper. Tony is capable of beautiful landscape design … years ago he landscaped my pool and did a beautiful job. But in recent years, it seems he’s received numerous complaints at the Better Business Bureau, Unilocal,etc. I regret not checking his reviews in 2011, but as a return customer, it didn’t seem necessary. I am disappointed that he never returned to start the job for which I contracted him with a $ 1,250 deposit last summer, not only because I’ve been taken, but also because I believe the work he proposed would have been beautiful. There is also something oddly disconcerting about his consistent and prompt responses that he will be by «next week». Most dishonest contractors simply don’t respond, but Tony seems to drag out the deception indefinitely. I suggest carefully checking out the complaints lodged at the Better Business Bureau and whether he has responded. As of this writing, since November 2011 Tony has not been responding to Better Business Bureau complaints. I hope he is able to restore the business to what it once was.

SLDA is a fraud. Tony Bernstein is a liar and theif. Do not do business with them. We interviewed SLDA after reading an article in best of Boston which featured Sudbury Design Group NOT SLDA. We thought we were talking to Sudbury design group and quoted the article. Mr Bernstein lied, said thanks and how much he like the article
. He is total scum. We hired him based on a lie and it went down hill from there. Mr. Bernstein plans, attention to detail and execution were abysmal. He is incompetent and just a total waste of time. Stay away. Don’t be fooled like we were. His work is garbage, he is dishonest, manipulative and just a total jerk. Remember SLDA is NOT Sudbury Design Group.

I wish it was an option to give 0 stars. SLDA is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. I recently renovated a 100 year old house and dealt with contractors, electricians and plumbers. I had my ups and downs with those trades, SLDA however took the prize as the absolute worst. They do not live up to commitments that are in the contract, they do a lousy job implmenting and they ar extremely overpriced. I urge anyone considering doing business with SLDA to take a look at the Better Business Bureau as well as the Massachusetts Attorney General’s site. You will find plenty of complaints. Again, please do not give this company a dime, you will regret it.

This is the most dishonest company I have ever worked with. I contracted for services with SLDA and the timeline was 3 months over their commitment. Because they went over 2 months without showing up after the demo work I was forced to change my plans canceling ½ of the design. They do not honor their contract and warranty for dead plantings and hardscaping issues that have broken down in less than a year. I have been trying for over 5 months to have my warranty honored and the owner continues to make up excuses and lies. Do not do business with this company unless you want to waste money.
