Bella Vita Italian Restaraunt & Pizzaria

Few coworkers and I ordered lunch today. Will be the last time. I ordered a gourmet antipasto salad, got a regular antipasto salad– they’re completely different, I wasn’t able to eat it. Another coworker paid for avocado on her sandwich, got none– sandwich had like one slice of ham. We called and we’re just told that it was someone new working… that shouldn’t be an excuse. Glad I paid for a lunch I wasn’t able to eat

Why hasn’t this place been shut down yet? I’m convinced that the high ratings on this page are from friends and family because this is the second time these folks gave me meat that smelled and tasted completely spoiled. But wait a minute, let’s start from the beginning.
I came in at 9:20, I did not know they closed at 9:30 and I was under the impression that they closed at 10 but the guy told me I could order something. All I wanted was a turkey breast sandwich. That’s it. So, they start making my sandwich and I noticed that they don’t use gloves. Not only that but the guy who finished counting the money went and finished my damn sandwich without washing his hands or gloves. Are you f*cking kidding me? I know that they knew something was up because I was just staring them down.
The boy handed the bag to me and I told him I saw him touch money THEN touch my bread and he gave me this look with an attitude, threw away the bag, and asked his buddy to make a new sandwich. This time the sandwich wasn’t toasted like I asked and he didn’t f*cking wash his hands either! Who the fk is hiring these kids? Oh and here’s the kicker, I had the nerve to still at least try to eat the sandwich I paid for. and I’m very positive the meat was spoiled It tasted and smelled like it. This is the first time I’ve ever been so angry at a restaurant.
This place is so careless and disgusting. I will not be going back. I hope they shut down soon because these people are really messing with people’s health. The whole touching money and everything else THEN making food right in front of my face like I didn’t just see you counting money is really a problem. Do they understand what can happen once someone gets sick because of their nasty asses? I bet they’ll find out soon enough.
If you couldn’t tell, these people really pissed me off. You don’t mess with someone’s food like that. I shouldn’t have paid before they gave me my sandwich. I hope this review helps someone. Please do not get your food here. Go to another pizza place.

I really don’t like giving bad reviews but I feel like I need to on this one. My family has been eating here for years but the last few years this place has gone down hill. They constantly make mistakes/​forget part of the order (I always do pick up, because they take too long for delivery). This last time they forgot part of my order, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap that completely opened and fell apart as soon as I picked it up, the fries were so overcooked they were like rocks, and they overcooked the chicken tenders so much I wasn’t sure what they were, and my meatball parm had no sauce but sauce on the side for some reason. Total carelessness. The pizza isn’t as good as it used to be.

We’ve been eating in and take out order many times.
And have been a steady customer.
But lately I don’t know what’s going on there, but the service and quality of the food has been on the decline.
I always order the pasta fagioli, I know Italian food had homemade all my life, there soup wasn’t bad.
But tonight it was water, I’m fighting a cold and thought some good soup would do me good.
I ordered 2, delivered to my house, and they forgot the soup, never mind my son ordered buffalo wings and they burnt.
I never seen watery pasta figioli before.
It’s a shame I sent one of the soup back because we didn’t open it, and they didn’t even acknowledged ‚
Not even a call or adjusted my bill.
Well they lost a good customer, and I will let everyone know

Negligent cooks and owner!!! Ordered linguini and clams to-​go and ended with a broken tooth. They cook food with seafood shells INSIDE the sauce. I tried calling the owner, MARK several times and only answered when I threatened with an attorney, and with an aggressive tone says he won’t do anything. I’m a college kid who can’t afford to fix a broken tooth, I’m not looking to clean the guy out? This is one the worst establishments I’ve ever been to and this place needs to be shut down immediately. Wouldn’t even serve the food to my dog.

The food is great but they constantly make mistakes. Not here or there, but constantly… The only reason I kept going is because of its proximity to my job. I hate leaving bad reviews, in fact I had to edit this review from a 4 star review, but enough is enough. This place used to be the best, now they are below par. Get your act together Bella Vita.

Bad dining experience. When three of us ordered dinner the waiter was told to make sure there was no garlic in chicken piccata as the recipe did not call for garlic. and to add extra lemon & capers. The remaining two of us ordered dinner which was served in a timely manner the only problem was the salad came out with the dinner. The chicken piccata came out with GARLIC. All over the dish, the waitress said she did not take the order and brought it back to the kitchen. The saga continues 15 minutes later the dish was served again and an abnormal amount of capers was in the dish and had to be spooned off, since two of us finished dinner this dish of capers was partially eaten.
We were given the check with an apology from the waitress about the service, as I went to pay the check there was a $ 3.00 charge for extra lemon and capers. When I questioned the bill I was told this was their policy.
DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT.

I’ve been here quite a few times both eat in and take out and I can’t begin to express how horrible this place is.
The older woman who’s a waitress is always rude and seems to be in a hurry to do something else even when it’s slow.
Anything I’ve gotten that goes in the oven always comes out burned! Pizza, Hero’s, calzone’s, they’re always black at the bottom. The one thing that wasn’t was the chicken parm I had with pasta but even then the chicken tasted like it was old and they fried it again hours later.
I won’t be coming back again. Think twice to Bella Vita.

As you can see from my previous post on this place, it has not been my first bad experience with this so called pizzeria. The first disaster with this bomb of a business was when they refused to honor the Ramapo Little League discount card, which people paid for to get discounts at certain places. The excuse that time was «i don’t know what my brother agreed to. he went to florida». Since Maurice (the brother) left the customer service has gone done the toilet. Pizza promised in 40 min came 1 hour and 15 min later dried up and cold like cardboard. When I called to complain the girl answering the phone said «i just work here». I asked for the manager and got «it got busier then we expected and a driver did not show up». My thought is, warn your client that it may take longer. Miss Maurice, he always made the customer feel like he cared if something went wrong AND he always made it right.
Its one thing to make a mistake its another to make the customer feel like they don’t matter. I don’t know how they stay in business. Don’t order here if you want food that is edible.

We ordered some food for take-​out and we got back to the house and the Shrimp Parm hero was missing. I called to let them know and a man named Dan treated me like I was trying to rip him off (he is the manager and very nasty) So I went there in person and he continued to
treat me poorly asking me what he should do about it. I told him I didn’t need a free sandwich and wasn’t trying to get over on him. After waiting another 15 minutes, I receive the sandwich with a attitude. I will never go back there again. The customer is supposed to be always right!!!

So I drive past about 3 pizzerias in my area to come here often. I come here specifically for the buffalo chicken pizza. Its so yummy in my tummy. The sauce, cheese, and chicken are all so tasty alone that on pizza its perfect. The prices are very fair considering the quality is awesome. The place is in a shopping center so parking s never an issue. I usually take out but there is plenty of room and TVs if you and the family choose to stay and dine in. Based on the flyers they often have clowns and entertainment come in also. I only frequent here during my lunch times and the service is always efficient. Would for sure return !

I’m sure the pizza and pasta is great. Scenery is great; very nice clean restaurant. Why 1 star? My food came out. I ordered a wrap that had WAYY TOO MUCH SAUCE. It was impossible to eat. There was sauce all over the plate that made the wrap soggy and unappetizing. I ended up eating half of the wrap because I was starving after a long day. Waiter was very nice even though she never checked up on me. I hate dealing with complaints myself but I just hope they learn from this. I wasn’t offered any discount or some type of refund just some $ 3 pizza to make up for it. Props to the guy behind the counter who was cool but I think they should have someone on top of everything that goes on. It’s unfortunate the stories I hear about this place from friends. they could be 100x better with minimal effort

Good food awful service!!!
The food is great but their customer service is awful. I have placed orders for take out and also gone in person to pick up and they continuously make mistakes. 90% of the time the order is incorrect. I’ve dealt with several people and I have placed the orders as well as other people in my family. We can’t be any clearer and we are ordering normal, easy dishes directly off their menu — nothing out of the ordinary.
Tonight I had it and called up to complain. They were disinterested to say the least and said next time to ask for the manager and they will give me a discount.

I only wish I had read these reviews BEFORE ordering a pizza from here. If I had to describe the pizza in one word, it would be ‘HORRIBLE’ (my boyfriend took a bite out of his slice and responded ’ THIS IS EL CRAPPO PIZZA’)!!! This was the WORST tasting pizza we ever had! I ordered a large pie ½ pepperoni, ½ bacon… first off the pizza was not fully cooked, the crust was very doughy and the cheese looked like it was slightly melted on the pie. When I picked up a slice out of the box, half of the slice hung down… it wasn’t crispy at all! And the pizza was ‘flavorless’…I could go on and on here, but suffice it to say, I will NEVER order anything from Bella Vita again!!! If I could have given this review 0 stars, or better yet, negative stars, I would have.

Great pizza!!! great deals! You can get pizza by the slice which is awesome and the tv is always on. What more could you ask for? Looks like a family works there and is friendly and get your food as fast as they can to you. Then you can take a picture with the great bambino!!!
Buffalo pizza is a must!!! I’m going to bring all my friends here!!!

I order pizza quite frequent from this business and lately it has been horrible. Today I ordered a large supreme pizza, well done. Well it arrived I picked up one slice and everything fell off of it. Hence I had to eat the pizza with a fork/​knife. This is not pizza! I will never go to this place again.

Horrible food and horrible service. Marc, Jenna, Roberta and Aj all who work here are so cheap and so rude! Don’t be surprised if you order take out and you get purple rotten chicken or your bruschetta comes with bread !! You read it right, for bruschetta you just a get a tin foil bowl of tomatoes and garlic, no bread !

All of the food is excellent. The Bella Vita salad is one of my favorites. This is a great place for families. My wife goes every Wednesday with the kids. There is a clown there on Wednesday nights that does face painting and balloons. The owner gives out matchbox cars to the kids. It’s a fun place with good food.

badbadbadREALLYbad. my brother and i got coupons in the mail so we thought we would try it. we ordered our food and two hours later, it’s still not here! when we called up asking what was going on, all we got was attitude. 30 minutes later it arrives, ice cold, we had to put the pizza in our oven to heat it up. we also ordered a soup and it was literally just slop. never again. never ever again. they clearly dont care and if that is their motto, they sure arent going to last.

Decent pizza. Nothing great. They have good deals and specials though.
