History

Established in 2009.

US Dermatology Medical Group is a nationwide family of dermatology practices offering a full array of general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures for patients of all ages. Our caring and experienced physicians are board-​certified leaders in their field, and are qualified to evaluate and treat any condition of the skin, hair and nails.

In Sugar Land, we are celebrating the 2011 grand opening of this newly-​remodeled office and our new staff and providers. Dr. Sonabend, PA Wendy Thompson, and the entire staff are committed to making our patients comfortable and ecstatic with our service.

Our patients are always our number one priority, and we use the most current diagnostic and therapeutic methods in order to provide you with the highest-​quality care. Business Owner

Michael L. Sonabend, MD, FAAD, 2011 Patient’s Choice Award winner, has never settled for less than excellence. After finishing at the top of his high school class, he entered an elite accelerated 7 year medical program at Boston U., where he was awarded both his medical sciences degree and medical degree summa cum laude, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honors society, and was elected president of the medical honors society.

Dr. Sonabend was intern of the year at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He then moved to Houston and completed his residency at Baylor U., where he received the Tad Johnson Award given to the most outstanding graduating resident. Prior to joining US Dermatology Medical Group, Dr. Sonabend worked with Nigro Dermatology in Houston.

He has a particular passion and interest in laser technology, advances in the treatment of psoriasis, skin cancer treatments, and reversal of photoaging. Dr. Sonabend enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, cooking and playing tennis.
