MOST CORRUPTED TAXI CAB SERVICE OF ALL TIME!
I was left stranded one night after a late night at the bar by a friend. My phone had died and the metro station by the bar was closed already. I was forced to take a cab home since I had no other way of reaching out to anyone or traveling means.
I came across a taxi driver from «City Cab» who had happened to be not to far from where I was at. I ask if he’s available for a lift and he says yes. Right when I get in, he asks if I have some kind of paying method and I replied «Yes». After that he then asks if I will be paying «cash or credit». I respond «credit». We then take off and then he asks for me to hand him my credit card over to him. I ask why and he responds with «Just so that I know that you won’t leave after we reach the destination». I was somewhat offended but then thought about the possibility of that really happening and same way some restaurants ask for a card to hold while you’re ordering food so people don’t dine and ditch. Long story short, he ends up telling me that I’m better off paying with cash just so that I don’t get charged a «Fee», so I agree with him and offered to pay cash at the end of the ride. What happens at the end of the ride shocks me. After we had a verbal agreement about me paying in cash, he takes it upon himself to charge my card and ask for a tip. My bill didn’t add up and I tried to call their phone line the following day but couldn’t get to anyone who deals with these type of problems. I should of had my bank cancel that transaction.

Never again will I take this cab company for a ride. Next time I’ll just walk it home and sleep under a bridge or something.

Called them to pick up my wife. I was stuck in horrendous traffic and was never going to make it to her in time. The woman on the phone said 5 – 15 minutes wait time. 15 minutes went by… then 30… then 45. My wife was weighed down with several heavy bags which is why she didn’t go looking for another cab. She finally called them to see what was up and the operator rudely told her there were no cabs in the area. Really nice. Thanks for nothing. Will never use them again.

Very poor service, they have no concept of time. I was told I would have a cab in 5– 15 minutes and waited 45 minutes then gave up. No phone call to let me know the status of when can would be there because they just don’t care !!! There are plenty of other options use them

Last night, New Years Eve, I attempted to call city cab to get home before the big cab rush about 1:30AM. While outside, freezing my ass off, I waited about an hour with friends. Not realizing how longs it had been, I called back to ask what the hold up was…
I was then told that City Cab had called me and that I told them that I no longer needed a cab. This never happened, the «dude» on the phone insisted that this happened. I was then told that he would call back in 10 minutes to tell me that a cab was on its way…
An other 45 minutes later, no call back, I once again called City Cab. The guy new who I was by name. «Is this Kenny» he said on the phone. At this point he told me that he will make it happen and a cab will be here between 20 and 40 minutes…
WHAT, in City Cab time that is 3 hours! I then filled him in on the secret that companies like «Über» and «Lyft» are on the way to shutting cabs down completely.
Short story long, I hadn’t had a drink in many hours at this point, so I decided to eat a little bit and muscle through the short drive home.
Do not use City Cab, this is not the first time I have had an issue with them.

Their system had a «glitch» but still got charged, even AFTER we paid in cash. I should note we used two cards as well (didn’t have enough cash to tip hence trying to use the cards first).
Note: as of this post, my investigation is on going until I can get both charges reversed.
Edit: After some calls and voice mail exchanges from the cab company, they were able to reverse transactions that were made due to their glitchy system. The drive was only about a mile and a half or so and the driver was polite, their technical systems caused a lot of headache though.

Can’t believe I have to give a star to leave a review, first off, ten dollar minimum for credit cards even on a mile long trip That totaled 6.45. When I told him I would run up to my place for cash he said OK, when I came back with a $ 100 bill he said he only had $ 70 to offer,(even though I saw him put some money back in his pocket to make it look like he had less change then he led on) as change to which I replied I will go to the bank and get change then, he then told me he would need to start the meter, that’s when I asked him to pull over and I would walk. He got angry, but I continued to the bank. When I got to the bank I took out a twenty for him went to the liquor store and got change. The cashier gave me two fives and four two dollar bills, I then gave the driver seven dollars, this is when things got ugly, I did not think he deserved a tip for a few reasons, when I originally presented my credit card, he insisted I pay with cash, then gave me tons of attitude when mentioning the credit card minimum, furthermore I was lucky enough to be called every variation of the «N» word a total of 18 times, during this the driver tries to provoke me to hit him, definitely an ulterior motive to try and get money out of me. I called their dispatch furious, and let them know exactly how I felt, it doesn’t seem like they really care. This guy should be fired immediately, and the staff should be given a real lesson on damage control as this review will be posted everywhere that will have it. BTW Cab number was 7241.

For the record, I have no idea if this is the correct «branch» that dispatched my cab ride, but I don’t care.
I literally just walked in from my cab ride. I didn’t have a long trip, but when I handed the driver my business credit card (as it was business related and I needed a receipt for expenses) he groaned loudly then demanded that I pay cash. In trying to explain to him my situation on not wanting to use personal funds for a business expense, he cut me off and again, even louder, demanded that I give him cash.
Needless to say, I gave him cash to shut him up and had to bite my tongue when he told me to have a good day.
I’m sure there are good drivers who are respectful here at City Cab, but I’ll never find out. Never trying this company again.

I don’t trust this place at all.
I took a City Cab from Pasadena to my house late on a Thursday night/​Friday morning. The next day, the appropriate $ 40 charge appeared online on my bank statement. The following Tuesday, however, a second charge appeared for the same amount. This time it was under the name Yellow Cab.
I called the associated number, left two voicemails, and finally got through on the third try (now a full day later). The guy, who is apparently the president of the company (didn’t realize cab companies needed presidents; seems a little grandiose for a glorified dispatcher, no?) pulled the old «Oh, hi Sammy L! I was just about to call you.» Uh huh. I bet.
I tell him about the double charge, and he tells me that it’s an ongoing glitch with his credit card readers but that he’s powerless to reverse the charge. He wants me to call my bank and ask them to do it. I called my bank, and they told me I would have to file a police report and jump through all of these hoops. So, I called the cab company president back and told him that, and all of a sudden he was able to reverse the charge. Magic, right?
Now, it’s possible that he’s telling the truth. Maybe it is a glitch, and maybe he is powerless to reverse the charges, and maybe he really was just about to call me, but the fact is that he had some way of rectifying the situation the first time I called, and he decided to waste my goddamn time instead. F**k that. Here I am buying your service, and you can’t even be bothered to put in a little effort when you screw up? He should have been apologizing and offering me $ 10 off my next cab ride. But he was content to try and get away with it. So, posting this negative review is one little form of recourse for me.
Do not support these people, and definitely do not give them your credit card information!
