History

Established in 2011.

Bear Busters was founded to protect homes and save bears. This is all we do and we specialize in this! We strive to be the leaders in the newly arising bear deterrent industry. In 2011 we came out with the electric door mat. Since then we have been creating new styles and uses for electric bear fencing on homes.

I have been fully trained in electric fencing by Gallagher Electric USA and am a licensed contractor. Now I am focusing my energy on customizing homes with electric fencing to make it more effective, easier to use and less impact on your home.

After our cabin was broken into for the second time by bears, it was clear we needed to do something new to protect our home. Ryan was recommended to us and we have been very impressed with Bear Busters quick response to our situation. While we live in the Bay Area and didn’t get a chance to meet with Ryan, he provided us with a fast estimate along with a lot of supportive information about adding electric fencing to our Tahoe home. We have spent several thousand dollars handling repairs to storm doors and shutters along with a door and a window destroyed by our two bear visits. Ryan offered a very reasonable solution that we do believe will lead to the end of our unwanted visitors without harming them. Thank you Ryan for being so responsive and quick to make sure our property was secured with your installed system.

I have been so impressed with Ryan and Bear Busters. We have had a few bear break ins over the years. We spoke with another installer and we’re less than impressed with their lack of professionalism. A friend of our’s referred us to Ryan. From the very beginning I knew we were dealing with someone very knowledgeable and professional. I was so impressed with the quality of install. He was very thorough in explaining and setting proper expectations. The quality of his work was impeccable. I was pleasantly surprised. Since then install, we had him come out and check to ensure everything was working and he was very happy to do that. Lastly, just recently we installed new windows that caused an issue with the system. He came right out and fixed it for us.

After a bear demolished our front door and feasted on ice cream out of our refrigerator our agent recommended Bear Busters to avoid future break-​ins. Bears have memory of success so it was important to alter his/​her recollection. Ryan came to the rescue and installed a great and proven system. We’ve had the system for over a year without any problem while the bears continue to attack the neighborhood. Our guests do not find the bungee cords inconvenient especially when they consider the alternative possibility of an uninvited member of the so-​called wild.
Since then we have modified the power circuit with a very convenient 3-​way lighted switch arrangement — highly recommended. This system is high value with excellent customer service. Contact Bear Busters and enjoy peace of mind

I am not sure you can find someone more passionate or knowledgeable about protecting homes from bear break-​ins. We have a second home at 7058 Bellevue Ave in Tahoma that the bears tried to get into. Ryan had already done two other houses on the same street and was highly recommended by our well connected neighbor that lives there year round. Ryan takes a lot of interest and pride in his work. The quality of our installation was excellent. He has designed special door mats that eliminate the need for wires across access doors. (We bought 2 of them.) He has a lot of good ideas that made the installation very clean. He provided us with a special volt meter we can use to make sure the system is working normally and he will also come service the system and check it out once a year. Ryan also helped with some advice on a remote control switch to turn the system off and on.
If you have bear problems, this IS your solution! Cost of our system was under $ 2,000. Drop by if you want to check it out!

I was very happy with the work and service provided by Bear Busters. We have a
vacation home in South Lake Tahoe and in last several years we have had three bear breakins. We tried a number of solutions that didn’t work. Researching additional solutions on the Interent, I found Bear Busters and contacted them on the phone. Ryan, the company owner was most helpful in providing me information on the Bear Buster solution options. I arranged for him to visit the vacation house when we in Tahoe on a recent visit. Ryan spend a hour with us reveiwing our situation and was able to prorvide us with reasonable estimate to install an electric fence on affected doors and windows.
We scheduled a date for Ryan to do the work when we could travel from the Bay Area to the house. The day the work was scheduled it rained. I thought the work would have to be postponed. However, Ryan knowing we had traveled a distance to be at the house when the work was going to be done, insisted he could do the work in the rain. Using tarps to cover the areas in which he was working, he completed the work in timely fashion. He even took time to explain to our neighbor how the system works.
I am confident that we now have a soluthion that will protect our vacation house from bear breakins in the future. I would highly recommend the you consider using Bear Busters to address similar problems that you might have.

I can’t say enough about Ryan and his company Bear Busters. My house in Alpine Meadows Lake Tahoe was famous for all the bear break ins. I had tried everything to keep them out of my home. We tried Pne Sol, lights on, TV on, zero food, no garbage, clean garbage disposal, gosh the list could go on!
It wasn’t until Ryan contacted me thru a mutual contact that my house was finally protected! Ryan was professional and a true gem when it came to follow thru and follow up.
I have not had any break ins since Ryan came to our rescue! I highly recommend consulting with Ryan at Bear Busters. Don’t wait!
