I like this place. My family goes here all the time becauae of how much we like the fried rice and Seafood Udon. You can order to pick up which is really nice for people who want their food but don’t got the time to sit down. So what’s good. The place is ambiance is quite nice. Not where you want to take a super fancy dinner but great for a nice sit down dinner with a group of friends or casual date. The workers are real nice and always have a smile. The menu though people may say it’s short is great for everyone. Choices between chicken, pork, seafood and even vegetable Ramen bowls. What’s bad? I think the hours can be weird for people who just want to stay in the restaurant late talking. They are sorta short staffed so during peak hours it’s hard to get someone to refill your teapot or to ask for something else. Overall I think the stars speak for themselves. Not a fancy restaurant but still a great, laid back Ramen place to give a try and come back to.

Despite all the warnings from other reviewers about this place being not quite Japanese, I gave it a try cuz, well, there are only three ramen shops in Sunnyvale and I already tried two(the pretty good«Ramen Seas» and the even better«Myzen»). Just for kicks(and for the record), I asked the waitress if this place is Chinese or Japanese-owned; she said Japanese. I don’t quite believe it – there are too many out-of-place items on the menu(i.e. fish balls, bean sprouts), and the dish comes served with all the ingredients kind of dumped in the bowl without any regard for presentation — but whatever its national origins, the food is hella weak. I had Miso Ramen. The noodles were passable, but the soup was bland & watery and the pork was tasteless low-grade garbage that seemed plucked from the bottom of the Wal-Mart bargain bin. Not good, not authentic, not anything. No wonder I was one of only two customers in the house at 7PM. I guess every top needs a bottom. As South Bay ramen goes, think of this place as the anti-Orenchi.

I had the Ramen. A little saltier for my taste, but the pork is what made the dish.

I got the ramen. Good broth, good pork. Noodles seemed undercooked for my taste. No vegetables, could use some cabbage, onion, water chest nut. Awful music playing the entire time. Hope you like 90’s boy bands.

Hey homie take a stop at Homi. Be sure to bring a shovel cause the rice and noodle plates are massive. Im a big fan of chicken katsu curry. Fried white meat chicken served sliced with a thick curry sauce. Must be from about five chickens. Props fo the cucumber slices marinated in vinegar. A nice palet cleaner.

Review is based on there fried rice because I took a look at the ramen and did not think it would be tasty. I remember looking at the menu and there is a line that says something along the lines of «100% Japanese.» Um not really, the only thing Japanese about this place is maybe the décor. The fried rice did not have that Japanese fried rice taste. I walked into this knowing the store is Chinese owned, however this is not an issue of if the store is owned by Chinese or Japanese. I have been to plenty of Chinese owned Japanese restaurants that have produced great Japanese food. Short grain rice was not used instead the standard long grain you find in typical Chinese restaurants. No seaweed, no pickled ginger no the fried rice was bland and pretty salty at the same time. The fried rice just tasted like Chinese style fried rice. Aside from it being a bit too salty it was still edible just not what I expected to get for paying over 10 dollars for fried rice. I personally would not come back here and cannot recommend this place.

I went here with my coworkers during lunch. I was skeptical at first but this place was actually pretty decent. I ordered their chief special ramen which contained chashu pork, egg, and some other things. The noodles were very average and didn’t bring anything special to the table. The soup was also pretty standard. The best part of the ramen was the pork, which was pretty tasty and well executed. I also tried some of my friend’s fried chicken which was delicious. I think this place delivers in being a standard, chill ramen shop. You shouldn’t expect too much of this place but it’s great if you’re going to lunch or want something homey(HOMI haha). Pros: — Homey feel to it — Service was amazing. Our waiter was so charming it made me feel welcome — a lot of parking in this Asian Plaza — Food is pretty good — food overall was pretty delicious Cons: — Ramen is pretty standard ramen

This is a new place off of N. Lawrence so the there wasn’t much a crowd when I was there. Believe it just opened a few weeks when I visited it. Clean establishment, decent parking at times, new crew taking orders(all rookies). Don’t even remember what I ordered but it was not the spicy ones that my group ordered. Soup was very bland(sort of tasteless), the char siu was few, thin and nothing to write home about. Like others wrote, could have higher quality packaged ramen that would taste better. The people who ordered the spicy ramen said it was not bad but the regular soup based ramen I ordered I would stay away from. I may visit again if there is nothing else around or wait until they are better established. Really nothing stood out about this place to even write a more detailed review. Chinese owned Ramen joint if that makes a difference to some.

Miso and kimchi ramen is good; portions are good and broth is rich. I will be back. The place is not too packed during lunch but is busy. My co-workers like the seafood ramen. I’ve had better but this is a better place than most chains.

Typical Ramen place, nothing to scream about. Good, but not amazing. Good thing is that it’s literally .25 miles from my apartment. That’s the reason why we decided to stop by. Had their Chef’s Special Ramen which had a little bit of everything. Meat was sliced fairly thick, w/different meatballs and vegetable. Broth was steaming hot when brought out. Noodles were cooked al dente and wasn’t mushy. It’s always a turn off when noodles are mushy. Also, ordered a side of chicken cats, breaded and fried. Very crispy and flavorful. I would come back if I was craving ramen, but would definitely try other places.

The ramen isn’t exactly Japanese. However, it taste very good. The service is fact and friendly and the price is good. One good advantage of this place is that their ramen is different from many other places in the area.

I’ve read that people were disappointed because of the Chinese influence, but I lived in Japan for years and Chinese-Japanese ramen/fried rice restaurants were way more common than their«pure» counterparts. The«chahan»(fried rice) here is the only I’ve found stateside that matches my experiences in Tokyo. It’s one of my favorite foods so I don’t say it lightly. The ramen is also great for this style. I reccomend the charisiu ramen and the charisiu fried rice. Gyoza was nice and juicy with a spicy oil based sauce. Karaage came with way more than expected and also tasty. Only thing I wish they did was a ramen and fried rice set meal so I could have both and actually finish.(Normal portions are very large.)

Came into this place with my friends hoping that their 3 star review was false. Unfortunately, our experience here was less than mediocre. I’ll keep my review shirt and sweet. Food: Broth was bland, I had to add soy sauce and a ton of pepper to my broth. I got the #9 house special, definitely Chinese influenced… With home made meatballs and fish cake and half a Taiwanese tea egg rather than a regularjapanese poached egg found in traditional ramen. The noodles were rubbery and thin. The experience was eh. I found a hair on my(soggy mushed up) fish cake, asked for a remake, and didn’t receive an apology. As a business owner in the food/beverage industry, an apology and acknowledgment of the situation is prime. By the time I received my remade ramen, my party’s as done with their food. Overall, I won’t be back. The hours here are awesome compared to most ramen places, but now I see why.

I was in a Ramen Mood so I rolled to Homi Japanese Ramen in my Whip Big Ken. I parked in the Parking Lot and Rolled into Homi and Grabbed my Usual table . I ordered the Chefs Special Ramen and a side of Chicken Katsu . I was brought a Kettle of Green Tea it was nice and hot. My food was Brought out to me 10 minutes Later . The portions are on the Generous side . The Broth was nice and Savory. It was a Flavor and Ingrediant packed Ramen. The Chicken Katsu was nice and Crisp with a nice Katsu sauce . Service is Excellent and my Server had a great attitude . I like that Homi is a nice Quiet Place. I paid by Double Rewards Card and rolled out.

Terrible ramen and broth, tastes like stuff from a package you can buy at a local Japanese market. The broth was very bland and watery. The noodles are definitely low grade store bought. Their topping choices are weird and not really right for Japanese ramen. This place is definitely Chinese owned and inspired, even the toppings are Chinese… such as fish tofu balls, meatballs, etc. Sorry but this place should be called a Chinese restaurant that serves ramen… I wouldn’t come here craving Japanese ramen because you will be disappointed. On the bright side, their kimchi fried rice is delicious, if I ever come back I will get fried rice and not ramen. They serve many traditional Chinese dishes, which I will sample if I ever do come back. I came here with Japanese ramen expectations and realized it is more of a Chinese place that advertises ramen. SKIP the ramen and go for fried noodles or fried rice.

I got the Chief’s Special Ramen($ 9.25) and I thought it was gonna be great but honestly instant Miso Ramen or any other instant ramen would’ve been better. The ramen is not authentic at all, the soup is just dull and not really flavorful. It’s supposed to be based with Shoyu which I did taste a little but not very obvious. The Chasu doesn’t even taste like chasu. It’s not good at all. The boiled egg had its color(brown) and I thought it was gonna be good but on the contrary, it was horrible. It was just boiled. Straight up hard boiled, not even a bit soft or flavorful. Very disappointing. The only semi good thing about the ramen(which shouldn’t even be called a ramen because it’s not close to being one) was the noodles. It was an ok firmness /blend. The appearance of it was ok but very not accurate with its taste. Sorry for the business but would not recommend this place at all.
