I walked into this subway expecting an air of freshness. instead it smelled musty and humid. The owner or the main lady behind the counter kept yelling and repeating everything her customers were saying. And all 3 sandwich makers were drenching sandwiches in various sauces and mayo. I did not like the constant yelling nor the quality of the sandwich. Not a typical Subway experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place if cleanliness is a requirement for you.

This is probably the worst subway. After several visits have noticed that sandwiches at this particular location are significantly smaller & lighter. Recently On a tuna footlong they put 4 half scoops of tuna and four half pieces of cheese, neither of which covered the entire sandwich but the server tried very hard to stretch it out. On asking about not enough cheese on the sandwich the server informed that it will cost extra. The server was adamant that the stingy serving sizes are consistent with other subways, but anyone who has visited subways or knows the brand can tell that the portions at this Sunnyvale subway franchise are significantly smaller. Server kept my lying that he was a subway employee and not a franchise employee. He kept repeating that subway corporate has trained him and instructed him to use less ingredients. On enquiring about the subway franchises owner, the server first lied but the eventually couldn’t hide the owner’s certificate. So Mr. Toung Tran either you are training your employees to put less ingredients in the sandwiches to make more profits or your employees are steeling from you, subway & customers. Either ways subway brand is being affected here. Subway should serious evaluate this location if they are serious about quality of their brand.

Worst subway I have ever been to. They don’t let you wash your hand. How rude you people are. I would never go back to this location.

eh pros: ~generally clean ~free refills ~there’s one nice girl worker cons: –sassy service –cheap with the amount of veggies + meat overall, if there’s another subway around, you’ll be better off there. but this one is ok

customer service sucks at this location. what irks me is that lame vietnamese owner who comes in in his motorcycle and looks angry. the owner doesnt give a shit and is rude. was there one day and the line was long. instead of helping his sandwich makers, he cuts in line and makes his own sandwich. what a douche. go to safeway, the sandwiches are much bigger and you get more meat. def better value at safeway!

Very frustrating experience here. When I arrived I waited several minutes as a customer shared YouTube videos with the sandwich maker. When he finally pulled himself away he made a kids meal sandwich for my six-year old daughter — lettuce, spinach(three leaves), and a falafel. And the avodado(shown on the menu as a fresh avocado) is actually guacamole with various other vegetables and spices, which may well not work for a six-year old. When the cashier rang me up I asked about the apples and kids water which come with the kids meal, the cashier directed me to the refrigerator, where there was neither. He then said«oh, I forgot, we’re out of both», and then just looked at me. After I made it clear that I expected the kids meal would actually include all three components, he said I could take some chips or milk instead. Then my daughter said she had to use the restroom, and the cashier directed me to a fast-food restaurant a block down El Camino. I related to the cashier that my understanding is any restaurant with on-site consumption has to have a customer-accessible restroom, he said the owner hasn’t told him that and he couldn’t help. Very poor customer service training here, and the owner needs to deal with the restroom situation.

Unlike other people who have eaten here in the past, I’ve enjoyed my two most recent visits. I think the main thing to remember about fast-food establishments is that the turnover rate for hiring/firing employees is pretty high, which means that if you have terrible service and/or food in January, it’s likely that the service and/or food will be different in August. Owners and store managers don’t hesitate to replace someone who doesn’t do a good job, so if you ever run into a rude worker or terrible food, just leave feedback on Unilocal with the first name of the person who took your order and the date, or you can call or email the store manager or owner. Anyway, I ordered two different sandwiches about two weeks apart, and Claudia took my order. I had no problems with the food, and she was quick. As for why I gave it 5 stars… It’s a sandwich place, and I rated it as such. The food was as good as it usually is at all the other locations I’ve been to, so I can’t complain about that.

Wish I had read Unilocal before going to this location! We walk in to purchase a few footlong sandwiches. I ask if we could have one of the sandwiches with slightly different condiments. Basically we only want half the sandwich to have the jalenpenos. We were waited on by a male Indian employee who totally tries to rip us off. His response — that’s two six inch sandwiches not a footlong and smirks at us! Really? I resisted my inner child to order the footlong with everything and fling the unwanted condiments all over :) Quiznos –makes a tasty sandwich! Can’t wait to contact corporate and ask if this is truly a policy!

Absolutely agree with reviewer Mathew. The Indian employee was making a foot long sandwich with so meager amount of vegetables that I have never seen in any subway. When I asked him to put more vegetables he put literally 2 slices of cucumbers. When asked he gestured grabbing a handful of cucumber slices and asking me if I need that much. Then he showed me a chart and pointed Subway recommends 6 slices only and I have to pay extra for additional. I left seeing him misbehaving and complained. However, the owner replied me explaining me what subway recommends again and offering me a free drink! Avoid this Subway. Not only the experience with the employees can be horrible and you typically get very little vegetables, the owner seems to promote this experience. Moreover I also suspect that they may be reusing these pieces of vegetables for successive days otherwise I dont see any reason for the cheap behavior you can see in this place. There is another subway a few blocks from this one at El Camino towards Lawrence, that is perfectly normal.

This is literally the worst Subway I have been to. The only one I have ever been to which charges extra for vegetables. And I didn’t even get an outrageous amount. I think thats against the rules of their franchise so I am reporting them. Not only that, the guy there was very rude.

WORST subway i have EVER been to, and i love subway and their food. Customer Service, worst here! I might have to complain to the store manager. I came at 3:35 on a THURSDAY there was a line and one guy working. There was about 5 people ahead of me and then 3 more behind me. This guy that works there is indian, and after he takes 10 min helping the first customer… he takes the order from another indian fellow at the BACK of the line. The guy at the front of the line said something(good job guy!) and so he helped him instead… but by this point i was fed up and had to leave to go back to work. what a waste of time and i went to taco bell across the street. Will Never go back to this location, it sucks and i would advise you not to go there!

I love this Subway! Ok the complex it gross looking but this is the cleanest Subway I have ever been to! Every time I go inside someone is mopping the floor. They always have spinach! Good food and good service for 5 bucks

Tried the new, «offered for a limited time only» flatbread sandwich. This seems to be the Subway response to the flatbreads at Quiznos. I don’t recommend it — not very flavorful. Quiznos wins the flatbread taste contest! The location on El Camino near Mary Avenue is great. But the condition of the strip mall is less than desirable with an adult book store just a few doors down. Sandwiches are what you would expect at a Subway. The service is friendly, and the store is clean. I appreciate them letting me know about the Subway card — get a point for every dollar spent and exchange the points for free food. I’ll go back, that is, if Quiznos isn’t too busy.

I don’t agree with the other two reviews, i was there last week and the place looked and smelled clean. It’s the usual Subways fell to it. True, the Center it’s located in is not the best lit and may not be kept up to date, but don’t blame that Subways…

Amy hit it right on, this one is musty and dank and feels like an old Arby’s. Pickings are a little slim and they are slow with the service. I mean really slow. I mean like molasses. It’s like they’re all stoned. I went to the Subway 2 miles down in Palo Alto and they’re SO much better.

The usual Subway, but this one is janky. Go to do a different one… it just doesn’t feel clean, and it starts with the exterior and the shopping center. Eck.
