Aloha SUP Rentals

Came here for a Tuesday 10am SUP sesh. $ 15 for 2 hours. Close to the harbor. They are quick and friendly people! One guy even helped my friend get the board she owns off of her car rack. thanks guys I’ll be back!

Honestly, I’ve read the bad reviews and all I have to say is «you can’t please them all.» Some people are just very difficult to deal with and I know this from working in retail and patient care all my life. However, from my OWN experience. Renting from here was very easy and not confusing at all. Sure the directions to the spot is a little sketchy but it made sense. I made a last minute reservation the night before since I couldn’t find a paddleboard rental spot who would even acknowledge my calls or questions. So I spontaneously called this place up before reading reviews or making any type of judgment. They have exceeded my expectations and Lynn was pleasant. She answered my questions and sent a detailed email of instructions. I’ve paddle boarded before so I didn’t need the instructional. BEST OF ALL! They let me bring my dog aboard which made my birthday an even better experience! Will be back some time soon!

$ 25 per person first time, but includes instructions and a mini lesson in the water. Hour rental, good workout, tons of fun. Staff helpful and super friendly :-) Can’t wait to go back, the price will be $ 10 if it’s AM and only $ 16 if not. I think you become a member and don’t have to wear the big bulky life jackets when you become a member, you instead get to use the waist one that is tucked away until it’s needed.

My husband took me paddle boarding for my birthday we had so much fun not hard to paddle board it is so relaxing, and the prices are great, the area were we paddle board is huge and everyone is. Friendly, we will definitely recommend. To friends.

We Wer looking to rent some paddle boards and came across this on Unilocal.The two owners are the sweetest people ever ! They were so kind and accommodating. We called and Wer able to snag a reservation for two days later. Lynn the owner sent us a link where our group could all pay separate and also an instructional video. Overall my experience was great and I would definitely rent from them again !

I bought a Living Social deal. Great price 2 boards (1hr) for $ 25. Too bad deal ended. But $ 25 is the going rate to rent 1 board. I did my research on Aloha SUP on their website. All the information was clear. Lynn was clear & direct w/​the instructions. There was a little confusion on the street number luckily she called me the day before. I live in the area so I was familiar of the streets. But hard to find parking in the Peninsula. (so allow time to park & walk to meeting area) We just rode our bikes and locked them up on the stair bar where we met. Boards were right on shore waiting for us to hop on.
For a First timer my experience was fun. With no lessons it was pretty easy. Lynn sent me a Youtube and I took the basic tips & just got on no problem. I also brought my sons 14 & 15 years old they had no problem getting on also. Wish we had more time but it was great trial.
I will definitely rent again from Aloha SUP. If you compare on prices at Horny Corner they charge a membership fee plus there is teacher that goes out w/​you. If you are a down & self-​taught individual rent here instead. Nice & peaceful area.

AWESOME!!! This was my first time and this was the best experience. Lynne and Billy were amazing. They delivered the boards and gave us our instructions, and off we went. I can’t wait to GO back. Totally ADDICTED

First time paddleboarders! Got a livingsocial deal here, and I’m not sure if we were lucky, but my friend and I definitely had a great time!
Calling Lynn was no problem, she was able to get me scheduled an upcoming weekend right away. She gave us clear instructions on where to meet her and told us to watch an instructional video on the website (not really necessary though).
We were able to find the location w/​o difficulty although I can see where that would’ve given others trouble. There was no one waiting to greet us and it was by luck that the people coming in from the last round came ashore right then and let us know we were in the right place. From then on, it was smooth paddleboarding.
Protip: Bring a music player! I just put my phone in a waterproof baggie and it made the whole experience a lot more chill. 8) Definitely coming back.

Agree with Brian P’s comments. First off, it is really difficult to get in contact with Lynn. From booking a reservation to trying to find where this place is located to dropping off the boards. It seems this is a side business/​hobby and Lynn lacks some serious business skills. My sister and I were wanting to try this out for awhile. We looked on Unilocal and thought the reviews were good. The owners must pay to filter these. After finally getting in contact with Lynn after 3 attempts we decide to just drive there… followed the direction link on Unilocal which put us in the Naples canal. Lynn seemed surprised even though reviews indicate they have a confusing location. Lynn gives us better coordinates but no street address. Weird, she then keeps calling us repetively which got really annoying. We finally meet up. She asks us if we watched a video?! What video? She then gives us frantic instructions and we are off. We did enjoy our time paddle boarding. It is a beautiful location. When we return her husband is no where to be found. After 20 minutes waiting we bounce. We leave her a voicemail since she never answers her phone telling her where we put the boards. An hour and half after she calls saying she is worried and has a life guard looking for us?!? Really? Why don’t you check your voicemail or pick up the phone. Ended up we had to drop off in a different area than pick up. Very confusing. Don’t waste your time with this make believe business. Lynn ruined our experience.

Wow! Aloha SUP Rental has been the best SUP experience I have had. They made it so easy, bringing the boards to the beach and meeting us, even though we were late. They are extremely accommodating and really nice people. Plus, they have great quality boards and tell you where you can SUP to see some really cool things. Thank you Lynn and Billy!

Aloha SUP was a pleasure to work with! My friend bought us a groupon for four, and we had a wonderful experience. There were three or four others renting at the same time, and the accommodated all of us with the proper size boards. We were a little confused as to if we were at the right spot or not to meet them, as it isn’t signed or anything merely a meeting point. Lynn assigned us the proper board based on our sizes, gave those of us who were first timers more detailed instructions, and had a mapped route that was almost exactly the allotted time that we had paid for. It was a fantastic experience. If you are in Long Beach and need a board, these are your people. I would absolutely send my friends and family to rent boards here. Once you are hooked on SUP, they have a local place that they will recommend if you want to get your own gear.

First time paddleboarding and this is the place I will always go back to — billy is super sweet Hawaiian gentleman that just wants u to have fun and be safe. They are amazing!!! Boards are nice and everything was perfect!

This place was a little confusing to find, but well worth it. The price is great ($ 25. — 1 hr) and the customer service was awesome. I made my appointment at 2 p.m., but I got a little lost. Lynn provides her phone number and was so sweet to help me find my way.
When my friend and I got there, Lynn gave us our boards and helped us out. This was our first time and she was incredibly patient. By the time we got in the water it was already 2:30, but Lynn was so nice about it, she still gave us the hour.
It was neat going through the canals.
Highly recommend.

These are the nicest people. They give instruction to help keep you safe. They offer tours around the canals, and they also host animal rescue fund raisers. I love, love, love them!

What a cluster f**k. Sure, once you get your board and away from shore paddle boarding is great, but this business lacks any type of business skills. We showed up on time, and were informed that the boards were 30 minutes late. We had 3 boards reserved, received 2. We were repeatedly informed that it was our fault, because we threw them off by making a late reservation (on the phone… with the person… at the time THEY suggested). When only 2 of 3 boards showed up, we decided to just take them instead of waiting even longer. Coming back wasn’t any better, we spent 15 minutes waiting for them to show up to reclaim the boards, and while they agreed to refund my $ 25 for the board we did not get — I am not holding my breath, since they first tried to give me an hour credit towards another rental. All in all, paddle boarding is fun, but Aloha is not going to get anymore of my business. Ever.

Nothing but good things to say about Aloha SUP! Before trying SUP for the first time, my boyfriend and I did research on different SUP rental companies and, in the end, were glad we went w/​Lynn and Billy of Aloha SUP. They offer the best prices and easiest first-​time experience for anyone new to the sport. You won’t be disappointed.
Parking is free and available in the surrounding area so we had no issues. Like the other reviews said, the owners meet you right on the sand, just feet away from the water– super easy! Other companies charge an arm and a leg for a SUP lesson but we found that the instructional video on their website is really all that you need.
Tips: Don’t forget to print your waiver and know where you’re meeting them (Aloha SUP owners)– remember: right on the sand (don’t look for a storefront bc you won’t find it!).

Three friends and I wanted to go stand up paddling, and came across Aloha SUP Rentals on a google search. I emailed Lynne late Thursday night and asked her if there was any way they could accommodate us for Friday afternoon, and despite the very very late notice, she was more than happy to help us out! Such great service! :D
I was happy even before I got there, because Lynne replied to my email so quickly and gave us some tips and directions to meet her and Billy at the Pennisula off of 56^th.
Got there, great weather, calm waters with a little breeze, but that didn’t stop us from having a great afternoon! Lynne was so great and helpful in teaching us the basics before she helped us get on the board and send us off into the canal. Her and Billy were both so helpful and friendly, it made my nerves ease up, and we were SUP-​ing in no time!
The location is also great, beautiful homes to look at while you’re paddling around. :)
Overall, we had a great experience with Aloha SUP, and will definitely be back soon! Great people running this place, and such a fun, relaxing thing to do on the weekends!
