History

Established in 1982.

Skyline Optical is owner operated and has served the community for over 49 years! The practice began operations in the Skyline Building on James Street in downtown Syracuse in 1964 and moved to its current location in North Syracuse in 1985.

Skyline Optical inventories numerous designer and other high quality frames to suit all face styles and budgets. Eyeglass fittings along with contact lens evaluations (for all visual disorders including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia) are provided by NYS licensed ophthalmic dispenser and contact lens fitter James Clabeaux. Routine eye examinations along with evaluations and treatment for pink eye, dry eye, floaters, cataracts, glaucoma, detection of diabetic eye complications, eye injuries and most other ocular diseases are provided by optometrist Dr. Joseph Morra.

Business Owner

Dr. Morra graduated from S.U.N.Y. Oswego with a B.A. in Biology and from S.U.N.Y Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association, N.Y.S. Optometric Association, and the Central N.Y. Optometric Association where he served as an officer for six years. Dr. Morra is trained and licensed to treat and manage ocular disease and attends numerous educational seminars to keep current. He practices full scope optometry and very much enjoys interacting with his patients.

Dr. Morra enjoys working with teenagers at his parish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, where he is a volunteer youth minister. He is also an avid tennis player and has a black belt in karate
