Carpet Liquidators

I cannot believe how poorly I was treated calling carpet liquidators of Tacoma! The person that I spoke to interrupted several times to talk to other customers and co-​workers. Based on the conversations I heard, I am not alone in receiving horrible customer service. He was extremely rude, laughed at my questions, and interrupted to say «listen I have another customer starting me in the face,» and hung up. Unbelievable!!! I will never NEVER consider this company again.

This review is for my shopping experience only, as I haven’t purchased any flooring here. Not a lot of frills, and don’t expect them to hold your hand through the experience. Told them what I was looking for, they pointed some stuff out, and let me look around. That may be your style of shopping — especially if you already know what you want. Carpet and wood laminate selection seemed pretty limited. Carpet and wood laminate prices just ok. It’s helpful to go with a rough idea of how much carpet you’ll need because they’re limited to stock on hand, but they do have three locations. No extra info offered — if you have a question, ask. They weren’t even pushing their carpet installation promotion. I almost forgot about it (sign outside) and had to run back in and ask about it.

Great services from Mike the sales man. Also Was full of recommendations and advise. Tom (another employee whoi rolled my carpet and put it in my track gave be advise on how far to place my tack stipe from the walls. Very Very good service.
Now, the next day I started laying the pad and found that the pad was about ⁴⁄₅ feet too short, the Salesman said I should have 3 feet left… Called the sales man right away and he gave us 6 feel of the same pad for Free and said this was his mistake.
Now I unrolled the carpet and found 3 holes in it. I was going to just get come carpet tape but my wife wanted them to be aware of this and she figured that we paid $ 250 for the carpet (which was on sale) it should not have holes in it. She called and it was closing time, they still answered the phone, and said that they need to ask their installs a question regarding this and will call us back the next day around 11am.
The next day they call before 11am and said that they want to replace the carpet for free and explained that this should not have happened. I explained that there was no way that I can roll up the carpet (21 feet long) and place it back in my truck and bring it back to store.
Jeff and Tom said that they will deliver us a new 21 foot section of carpet to out house and pick up the one with the hole for FREE…
The next day they were out and swapped the carpet for Free… great customer service guys.
We plan to replace out kids carpet later this year or next and we are not going anywhere else than Carpet Liquidators of Tacoma and we will recommend you guys to all our family and friends.

The sales process was good, the installation process was less than ideal. I regret they nickel and dime with «extra» expenses. Undisclosed to start, after the fact, they charged me extra to move a few pieces of furniture, then the disposal of the prior carpet and padding.

Carpet Liquidators has multiple locations and I wasn’t sure if specific locations serve specific areas, but I contacted the Tacoma location to check out the showroom. I wasn’t keen on driving 30 miles to Seattle if I could avoid it. At first glance it looked like it might be struggling for customers, but maybe people just don’t know about it. And that’s a good thing. The prices here are excellent, and they even offer a contracted installation service if you want to have it done professionally. The install fee was reasonable.
I wasn’t sure about the quality of the work, not having used the company before, so I just did the master bathroom. There was a carpet/​vinyl combination that looked terrible, and the previous owners had some water damage because the shower isn’t installed tightly enough (still isn’t). Vlad came out, took a quick estimate, and I got a call with the quote. Approved the work and provided the financing information. Vlad came back out within two days with an assistant and 5 hours later, I’ve got a much better looking floor. He was on time and on schedule. They never stopped working.
So why only 4 stars? Minor things. They may not bother you.
First, they left the front door wide open twice despite me asking them to close it and just leave it unlocked. Two flies got in and I had to kill them. Preventable.
Second, they left sawdust on the driveway. This one is weird, because they went through great pains to clean up the actual work area and even brushed through the carpet in the master bedroom doorway. It didn’t make sense for them to miss something like that.
Third, they were almost about to take off with the remainder of the flooring (which is owned by the customer. You buy the entire roll). I had to remind them that it is supposed to be left with me, I plan on using the rest in the other two bathrooms eventually.
Fourth, considering they redid my bathroom, I would have assumed that if they needed to use the bathroom, they’d just use it in that bathroom before starting work (the toilet needed to be lifted temporarily). Instead, they had to use my hallway bathroom.
Again, these are mostly minor things, but I point them out, and collectively, I had to dock a star. Please don’t let it influence your consideration of this company; it was a great experience overall and I fully intend to use them again. In fact, I asked Vlad to measure out my stairs, upstairs hallway and master bedroom for laminate, which is what I’ll likely do next.
