Dr Buttaro has been practicing dentistry for over 16 years. She purchased her practice in Fife, Wa in 2007 and has enjoyed every minute of it.

Dr Buttaro graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland Dental School in ’96. She then proceeded directly into a one year general dentistry residency with the U.S. Army Dental Corps. After finishing a tour of duty overseas in Korea, she went on to complete her active duty military service at the Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr Buttaro has been in private practice in Pierce County since ’00. She has made a life long commitment to continuing her dental education and in ’04 Dr Buttaro received the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. She then received the prestigious Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in ’12. These awards symbolize excellence in the dental profession and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Dr Buttaro serves on the Board of Trustees for the Pierce County Dental Society and is an active member of the American Dental Assoc., WSDA, AGD, WAGD, and a number of other professional study groups.

My husband really hates the dentist. Like, didn’t go for years to avoid it. Of course, the ran into trouble and then really needed to go! That is when we chose to go here. From the start Dr. Buttaro and her staff have been amazing! My husband chooses to use the sedation they offer for his more challenging appointments and it has been a lifesaver. They are all friendly, cordial, and thorough with everything they do.

Let me start by saying unequivocally: I hate the dentist. All my life I’ve had dental issues, bad teeth, tons of dental and orthodontic work, braces, filings, crowns, you name it. I know it sounds silly but as a grown man I have a sort of anxiety driven phobia of the dentist. I white knuckle the chair, experience a weight on my chest that causes a shortness of breath, and sometimes leave the dentist finding I’ve almost broken the skin between my fingers with the opposite hand’s finger nails. I know it’s silly and irrational, but that’s what a phobia is.
With that said, this dentist office goes out of its way for everyone including for people such as myself. Everyone is charming and pleasant from the front desk to the doctor. They offer blankets if you’re cold, headphones to distract, friendly conversation to relax, and copious amounts of gas and novocaine to ease discomfort. They apply topical numbing agents before using the needle so you don’t feel any pain. All the people here are so friendly and you really feel comfortable asking for anything that might help ease the experience.
Just look through the other reviews and count the 5-​star reviews! For a dentist! Really, if you have to go to the dentist, why go anywhere else if you’re even remotely in the area (I drive from Lakewood).

I am at a loss for words with how amazing Dr Buttaro and her staff are. After avoiding the dentist for 6+ years, I have been back and seeing Dr Buttaro regularly since being recommended about a year and a half ago.
They put so much love and care into the work they do, and you can honestly feel it every time you are there. It is no longer a burden going to the dentist but I actually look forward to seeing the staff and Dr. They do everything they can to make you as comfortable as possible, and always ensure you are highly informed about what they are doing.
I’ve recently referred my husband to leave his chain dentistry office and come to Fife Dental. He is also extremely impressed and happy with this office. He had to have some extensive work done and Dr Buttaro even called him in the evening to make sure he was doing okay (this woman is an angel on earth, LOVE her!). Their customer service is unmatched.

How can I even say in words how great this place is?! So after three years of avoiding the dentist because of some terrifyingly painful and just bad experiences, I googled around looking for somewhere close that could provide sedation dentistry because I wouldn’t go unless I could be knocked out. fife dental was SO nice and accommodating to me on the phone. They were kind and reassuring that their team would be able to make me comfortable and that going to the dentist was not supposed to be a pain! They were right. Even though at my first appt, I told the. I would probably need every sedation option, I have done 6 appointments in 1 month without even needing laughing gas. They didn’t push me to not use it, we just played it by ear and if I was ever uncomfortable, they had everything ready. But they are so good at their jobs, I never needed to be put out! I swear, I’m the biggest baby but they are that good. Every single person there is sweet, funny, warm, and accommodating. They never make me wait and consider my insurance needs fully (which is why I had 6 appointments in one month). I will never go anywhere else and my 25 years of absolutely hating going to the dentist is over.

Do these guys ever have a bad day? If so, they had it like true professionals! I’ve been seeing them for five years now and this is the best dentist that I’ve ever been to. Extremely friendly and compassionate care. I see Gina but have seen others in the dental office. Everyone I’ve seen there has always done a fabulous job. They do a very thorough job cleaning your teeth. See Dr. Buttaro, you won’t regret it!

Hands down, this is the best dentist I’ve ever been to! The new office space is gorgeous, and everyone in the office is super friendly and helpful. Great dental office. Dr. Buttaro and her staff are the most kind, caring, people that I have ever encountered at the dentist. They do everything they can to make sure that you are comfortable. The dental chairs are comfortable, there are TV and headphones to help distract, they even offer you a blanket, and they talk you through every single procedure that they perform. I really appreciate that fact that they don’t forget that you are a person when you are sitting in the dental chair, versus just one of their many patients. They ask how you are feeling often, and go above and beyond to ensure they are doing everything they can to make your stay there bearable. The last dental office I went to was horrible, it was such a relief to come here. I have had a few procedures over the last 4 years at this office. Highly recommended.

Excellence is what I have been privy to experience with Dr. Buttaro. It has been almost 10 years since I have been to a dentist. Dr. Buttaro and her team do an amazing job answer all questions, laying out a plan for health and getting the most bang for the buck when it comes to insurance.
I couldn’t be any more happy than I am now and look forward to having more time taking care of the problems in my mouth.

Over 7 years ago I was looking for a dentist and a coworker recommended Dr. Buttaro. I’ve been going ever since! I have yet to meet a dentist who is as well educated and cares as much as her and her staff. Through the years I have referred my own family members. She is the only dentist who has been able to make the most effective and efficient recommendations to resolve our dental needs. There are good dentists and there are great dentists. Dr. Buttaro is one of the great dentists out there. The best in my opinion. I would recommend her office to anyone wanting the elite in dentistry!

Feeling lucky to have found Dr. Buttaro and staff! Double lucky that the office is convenient and close to home!
After my dentist retired I was nervous to find a new dentist so I put if off until I broke my tooth eating a hotdog at Disneyland (ew) and needed some cosmetic work done. I scoured Unilocal and online reviews and found Fife Dental Center.
Here are my impressions:
Front office staff– friendly and took the time to check my insurance and called me ahead of time to share. Then wrote a detailed estimate and had it ready for me after my appointment.
Hygiene staff– again, friendly, explained everything they were doing, gave advice on how to care for me teeth, gentle, and thorough on the cleaning. During a down– minute used the time to book my next appointment (efficient)!
Doctor– again, friendly! Gave me a detailed overview of my teeth. Explained my dental plan and smoothed my tooth in the interim so it would look as good as possible before my next (fix-​it) appointment. Offered to adjust my existing night guard for free.
Technology– better than most. Shared photos of my teeth with me. I got to watch my choice of TV channel while waiting (HGTV!)
You can really tell by the way people talk to each other and the vibe of the whole office that people really enjoy working there and work well as a team. I’m excited to complete my treatment and continue as a loyal customer going forward!

I haven’t been a patient of Dr. Buttaro’s for long, last Thursday was my first visit, but already I’m thrilled that I found her. I hadn’t been to the dentist in about 10 years, so I was quite nervous they would find nothing but rotten teeth in my mouth. I also was expecting a disapproving shake of the head somewhere in the process. I never got one. Instead, everyone in the office was friendly and encouraging, choosing to focus on the good decision to come, instead of commenting on the years I didn’t. They responded well to my barrage of questions, and all clearly had a lot of knowledge to share.
Fortunately my teeth are made of stronger stuff than I thought. No major problems, however, I’m confident that if I had major issues, I would be at the right place for dealing with them. They assured me from the beginning that whatever they found, they’d take things step by step, focusing on the more immediate concerns first.

FDC is the best dental clinic we have been to since moving to WA. Dr. Buttaro & her staff always treat their patients like family. The clinic is very clean and gives you a «homey» feeling when you walk in. Although we live in Auburn, making the drive down to FDC is always worth it.

I have had a great experience with Dr. Buttaro and her staff at Fife Dental Center. When I went for my first appointment, it had been a few years since I’d been to the dentist, so I was long overdue. The team did a full set of x-​rays and a very thorough exam, and Dr. Buttaro took the time to sit down with me, explain the various processes and procedures, and answer any questions. It turned out that in addition to a cleaning, I needed a filling – my first. Dr. Buttaro completely put me at ease and the process was nearly painless.
Additionally, my teeth have become more crooked as I’ve gotten older, so I elected to get a night guard and a retainer to keep them from moving further. Dr. Buttaro helped determine which appliances would not only work best but would be most cost effective. (As it turned out, the combined cost of the two appliances was less than what I paid for a single retainer from a different dentist years earlier.)
All in all, I have gotten excellent care from Dr. Buttaro and her team, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Love that quote! Anyways, from the first meeting with Debbie, and the rest of the staff, right on up to Dr. Lisa, the flow and friendliness has always been smooth and felt almost effortless. I have witnessed it even in the midst of emergency patients and schedule adaptations. It is called Grace. The work is exemplary and now a year later I’ve been transformed. Thank you!
