Our mission is to clothe anyone that wants to be clothed. no matter their size or age or gender. Our inventory is constantly changing and is updated according to seasons and special events like Burning Man or Halloween! We specialize in the unique and one of a kind sort of things.

History

Established in 2009.

Mandelin’s began with the dream of two very close family friends … Rachael and Julie. One is older, one is younger … even though at times the younger one seems older and the older one seems younger. One is a creative genius and retail expert and the other one not so much. One had some money, some resources and a gift for gab and the other one not so much. Combine these talents with a love of fashion and a need to do something amazing yet environmentally friendly, (we are all about being green!) and we were on our way. That was 5 years ago. It took us some time but we never gave up the dream, it only got more and more vivid.

Mandelin’s is co-​owned and operated by 2 long time family friends, Julie and Rachael. We are close but very different. Rachael is the creative mastermind behind the store. The Look and Design come straight out of her crazy creative little head. Julie is better at the Public Relations, Sales and Communications part… website, advertising, negotiating etc. But our goals are the same… to make Mandelin’s the coolest consignment store in Tacoma. We want to be your destination spot for clothing and accessories for any occasion. We are not typical… our shop is beautiful, the ambiance is fun with great music and we are all fashionistas here so we KNOW how to put an outfit together… we believe shopping should be more than just shopping… it should be an experience that you remember and that brings a smile to your face…

I love this store! I love the people! One of my favorite shops in Tacoma. Lovely ladies work there, it’s truly a family business. I’m happy to give them my business. If you haven’t been there yet, I recommend you do.

I’ve tried so hard to consign with this place. After three tries I give up. The first time I called to set up an appointment and they said they only take walk ins. That call was on a Th. The next day I drove down and they said they weren’t consigning all weekend due to a festival. Why didn’t the lady tell me that when I called the day before? The next time I called on a Thursday at 12:30pm and they were already done consigning for the day. Ok, no problem. I tried calling the next day right at 11 am (the designated start time for consignment) and they said they weren’t consigning anything for the day. Why didn’t they tell me that yesterday? Until they start taking appointments, I suggest you try Meg’s and Mo in Proctor.

Went in for my first time today and found some really good deals on jackets with 30% off. I would really recommend buying your clothes for the fall in the summer and your clothes for summer in the spring with this one. I recommend this because if I would have gone in for flannels and cozy sweaters in september all of my good picks would have been gone by then. Great selection on purses and shoes. They had a 1 $ bin full of treasures if you’re willing to dig! I’m definitely going in this march to look for summer gear. 4 star because of the in season clothing availability.

In the last 3 months I have found some great items (I haven’t been in with any regularity prior). I was on my way to the mall to pay Full price for jeans because I DESPERATELY needed a pair, and thought I’d check Mandelins before I hit the mall. Good call! I found the brand of jeans I wanted in the size I needed for significantly less money! I found a second pair that were too short, but even with the cost to have them hemmed into Capri length it was still less than $ 35! But, it is a consignment store so be open to what you’re looking for they may not have the exact thing you want, but now I’ve started stopping in a semi-​regular basis while I look for a few things I’d like to add to my wardrobe. So far I’ve hit the jack pot :)

I absolutely love the store and the owner is a really humble lady. All the items in the store were in brand new to pristine condition and up to date. Well worth it. I just bought 3 purses, a purse organizer, 1 blouse and 1 dress. I highly recommend mandelins whether you’re doing a consignment or just regular shopping. A must to come back here.

Don’t let the volume in the store overwhelm you. The owner, Rachael, has a knack for knowing what is on the racks and how good it will look on you. Tell her what you’re looking for– she is a great listener. I came looking for something to wear to a Seattle hipster wedding. She found three different options for me. All were things I wouldn’t have had the courage to try without her expertise, all looked great and all were under $ 30. I almost forgot to mention I had my toddler with me. She had toys to distract the Bebe and took it in stride when the Bebe cried a little.
She was also thoughtful and helpful when I came in to consign items. The rules posted on the web site are a bit confusing but you can call with questions.

First time I’ve thrifted in Tacoma since moving here, and it was a great experience!
The store is very neat and tidy, and smells so clean! It doesn’t smell like old clothes which I find a lot of thrift stores have in common. The clothes are all very good quality, and you can tell that they don’t just put anything out to sell. As I was browsing, one of the employees started a dressing room for me so I didn’t have to lug all of my items around which was nice.
After trying everything on, I found three great items that I can definitely wear to work and out on the weekends. The styles they had were very up-​to-​date which was great to find!
For three items (two button downs and a dress) it was $ 13.00. Can’t beat that! Will definitely be back!

The lady at the front counter was rude, their stuff was way over priced, they didn’t have one single cute item, everything showed massive signs of wear and were not cheap, it wasn’t comforting, one last thing… I hate their buying policy. Why can’t they give cash for your clothes right then instead of when it sells like platos closet does? Not my kind of store and definitely won’t be going back.

I went in once with a friend while passing by on Sixth Ave, and I’ll definitely go back! Like most second-​hand stores, some of the items are outdated, but after looking through a few racks, we made some great finds. Express tops, Seven jeans, Steve Madden handbags – and fairly decent prices. I walked out with a Michael Kors trench coat in brand new condition for $ 12. Definitely a place to check out if you like to hunt for deals on quality items!

I have consigned items at Mandelin’s three times. Each time I have gone in I have been ignored and had to wait to be acknowledged and wait to be assisted. The attitudes are snobby and much like I am interrupting. I also waited for email responses and when I asked, they claimed they were very busy. One time is okay, but each visit has gotten more depressing.

I brought 2 beautiful prom like dresses in to them. They told me that would email me… I waited for a month and still no email. I went in and they had my email address wrong, so I gave it to them again, and again they said that they would email me… and yet again no email ever came. I waited… I went in to find out that 1 dress had apparently expired (I brought both dresses in on the same day… I find it very curious why only 1 expired) and they «donated» it… although I have my own ideas on that. They were extremely rude! I took my other dress out and left. There was no apologies from them or anything. VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!

Mandelins is great! I absolutely adore this place. From the first day I went inside I was hooked. You can definitely find a few good quality items that will fit your style or whatever you’re trying to put together.
I was happily surprised at the extremely fair prices and the amazing quality of service. Each person who works there is so down to earth and eager to help. I tell all my friends about this place! I got an originally priced $ 140 fossil handbag for $ 41 and it still had the price tag! I also found 3 pairs of jeans that actually fits me (never happens) and that’s just to name a few examples of my good experiences there.
Definitely recommend this place, you won’t regret it!

I love that this place is not over crowded or cluttered. Every item has been well gone through, and in very good condition.
The staff was friendly, and there were plenty of options, and well organized too.
This is definitely one of my favorite new places to shop.
My only word of advice while shopping here would be to be careful with the designer items, I saw some knock off Seven jeans, and I also noticed that the asking price is 50−75% off of retail asking price. Just an FYI, many department stores have 50% off sales, so you need to really ask yourself if it’s really a good deal to get 50% off of something that is used. Sometimes it may be, sometimes not, just be a smart shopper.
The other clothes (non-​designer) are price very reasonable, and very well looked over too, so you don’t have to worry too much about finding stains, tears, or rips when you get home, they do that work for you; you can tell that they take pride in this shop.
I’m a big fan, and I will come back often!

Mandelin’s Consignment is a great addition to the 6th Avenue District. It’s taken over a long vacant space and given it new life, adding to the area’s retail variety with decent quality. The store is nicely laid out and organized (

They carry a good assortment of mid-​range jeans, handbags, and shoes, rounded out with a decent selection of tops, sweaters and dresses. There’s not much jewelry of interest. Example price? a Pringle argyle sweater, $ 40 (

There’s smallish, but interesting assortment of men’s clothes and shoes. They had some vintage for men, like Coogi sweaters & Pendleton shirts… priced on the high side, they ranged from $ 50 to $ 100.
There seems to be a dating system to the tags, but I saw no indication that things go on sale at a certain point.
