Every place else was packed so we stumbled into the pub on a Thursday. Summary: good vibe, great beer selection, outstanding pizza, nice wait staff and great music. Its a small charming pub with a good mix of patrons. Wish I lived a bit closer.

Just watched the band Positive Rising recently here. Like the vibe of the bar. They serve great food and provide a friendly atmosphere. Even though they are a smaller bar they utilize their space well. Enjoy coming here and definitely would frequent again.

Half Pint is the epitome of why I wish Unilocal would let us rate aspects of an establishment separately. I would give atmosphere, food, drink, over all experience wildly varying scores. With that said: Food was solid. The toppings on the pizza was delicious. 5 stars. The pizza crust itself was lackluster and disappointing at 3 stars. **BEERSNOBALERT** Beer selection while wide, was a little disappointing. Do you really need to have Coors Light on tap next to 19 craft beers? Most of the beers were just average offerings. With a little research done by the bar manager, they could offer some great stuff on tap(see Parkway Tavern for example) – not just macro-craft shit like redhook and fullsail. The atmosphere is-like others have noted-loud. The live music is really hit or miss. We heard 5 «acts» on Thursday night. We started with a nice folk trio, next up was a horrible slam poetry free styler, then a girl with an out of tune ukelele, followed by a homeless guy strumming one chord on a guitar for a couple songs. Lastly there was a decent classic rock acoustic cover band who were pretty good. The ukelele player and the slam poetry wannabe were pretty fucking terrible, let’s be honest. Even the bartender was laughing. The two bands seemed too well polished to be an open mic night, but maybe that’s what this was? Hard to enjoy yourself over the loud noise to begin with, as well as the questionable«talent.» FINALTHOUGHT: skip the crowd and noise and come here for lunch. If you’re an annoying screaming«21» year old, you’ll fit right in at night.

Based on their mission in their website and a few friends mentioning they stop in from time to time, I thought we’d venture over there in Tuesday night to treat my staff for our annual Christmas party. Nine of us were there unannounced and Joseph promptly greeted us and asked if we’d called ahead of time hoping he hadn’t forgotten about our group coming since he was the only one working. I assured him we had just dropped in and we were in no hurry so no worries if he couldn’t attend to us promptly. He shared the specials for Tuesday and got us some drinks. My wife was in the mood for hot tea which they didn’t have or hot lemon water which he kept coming for her. After a short while I noticed he had some help come in. I have to say, without a doubt we received some of the friendliest, prompt, and professional service we have ever seen, especially considering out quasi-large group. The beer selection is great, the salads and pizza are delicious and amazing portions with very reasonable prices. The place is clean and bonus, you can bring your kids until 10pm! We love the vibe here. The other gentleman(starts with a D?) sorry I can’t recall his name, was amazing as well and got the door for the ladies. Both guys were extremely grateful and accommodating right until we were done. They hadn’t even seen the tip we left so I know they just loved their work and customers. We enjoyed a rare, refreshingly fun and comfortable evening. Thank you Half-Pint. We will be back soon.

Love it. Family friendly, friends, and all the best people you’d ever hope to meet. Reminds me of Old Skool in Oly. Pinball, photo booth, and keep ur cussing to a whisper. Oh yeah… bands play here(and they are good.). I feel it’s the best place around except for The Ice Cream Social.

I would give them more of a 3.5 but I really like there mac and cheese so I’ll round up. Unfortunately the last two times I wasn’t able to get it. One time they ran out and another time I came in too early. My husband and I both think there pizza is ok. My husband really likes their calzones. Along with there mac and cheese I really like their caesar salad. The service here is pretty friendly we usually get our stuff to go but they still offer us water. We usually take our stuff to go because the place can be a little loud for me. I wouldn’t say it’s excessively loud but I’m a little sensitive to noise. Also I do think the orders take a little long. Overall I like this place.

We tried this restaurant for the first time today. Arround 3pm we showed up and the girl behind the bar was really running the entire show. Bartending, hosting and waitressing. She was great. Wife and I had Calzones that were amazing. Probably the best ive ever had. My son had a kids pizza which was deliscious. They have great dough which makes great crust. Beer on tap selection is awsome and thw atmosphere is great. I look forward to my next visit.

Cool little place to hang out. The pizza was a lot different from any other pizza I’ve had, pretty good. They have a lot of different beers on draft. The day I went there was Only one guy running the whole front of the house, even though he was busy he was very friendly.

When you walk into a «joint» and it doesn’t disappoint all I can say is. Yes I will have another! Great food and a surprisingly diverse tap beer offering. Great lunch time Happy Hour. Come check it out!

The service and professionalism in this joint is garbage. Beyond garbage, in fact. Servers openly describe and complain about patrons in front of other customers. One bicyclist female staff member has repeatedly verbalized threats of potential violence towards patrons with a smug arrogance. She openly mocks patrons, claiming she’s from the east-coast with a suggestive tone of her customers being inferior. This is largely a group of 20-somethings who give freebies and discounts to their friends in clear view of customers while neglecting others, all with the verbalized assumption that they ‘deserve’ tips. Going further, kitchen staff come out and confront customers about their experience in this establishment, seeking to clarify who might have been behind unsavory Unilocal reviews.

A very long wait for a Tuesday at 7pm, the server did apologize that a few takeout orders were placed at the same time, Understandable. But when our 2 side salads never made it out by the time the pizza came he ran to the kitchen and came back saying they were sitting out… not sure to take that as made awhile ago and sitting out… that’s my best guess because it the greens were warm. They also forgot to put in our order of breadsticks, so they discounted our order $ 1.20 smh. Menu side note — a Margarita should be made with olive oil not red sauce from a can Server side note — don’t wear a tank top to work when you have a bush of armpit hair that shoots out in every direction.

I am smitten by pizza and beer. Let’s just say I love happy hour and they have a good selection of pizza toppings. $ 10 for a large one topping pizza. $ 2pints on Tuesdays. Lots of specials. Cheap prices, it’s nuts. Bar tender was very nice & friendly in a Not flirty way. The way I like it. Lots of Tacoma locals dining and drinking. From all range of ages. Pretty cool place, will go back. Free parking for 90 minutes outside!

Staff is super friendly. Patrons are bizarre and fantastic. I asked one patron about the food and he just grabbed his head, closed his eyes, made some kind of erotic noise and said, «Oh my God, the calzones are the bomb!». I said, «Sold!!!». After my calzone I made the same noises and left very full and very satisfied. Well done, Half Pint… well done. Oh ya, they have PINBALLMACHINES!!! Classic!

Came in and it wasn’t super busy. Arrival time 6:28, I checked because my fiancé said something about happy hour(which ended at a very early 5pm btw). I already viewed the menu on Unilocal so by 6:33 we were ordering our food and beer… on a side note the tap list is ridiculously hard to read from most places in the building. By 7:05 I notice the table next to us ask about their food then cancel their order and leave(they ordered before we even sat down). I then ask the waitress about the wait time and she gives me some excuse about how they are busy… ok yes AFTER we ordered the place filled up with people, but those people should have no effect on your ability to get the people who were there BEFORE it got busy their food. Another 20 minutes goes by and STILL no pizza… and the waitress has yet to return to give me a timeframe on our pizza like I asked. By 7:30 the fiancé sees I’m getting a bit irritated, stops a different waitress and asks again about our pizza. She checks in the back and magically the pizza is done. Now the average pizza takes roughly 12 — 15 minutes to cook. During the 1 hour we waited for our pizza the ONLY thing that came out of that kitchen were 3 calzones to the table behind us… oddly in 15 minute increments… ummmm, can you only bake one item at a time? Wtf is going on in that kitchen??? As to the pizza itself, I wasn’t a fan of the crust, however the pizza sauce, toppings and flavor were all pretty good. We ordered the medi which has a spicy sauce, meatballs, green bell peppers, bacon and peppercinis. Good, but not worth a one hour wait that’s for sure. Overall, if you don’t mind taking almost 2 hours to eat a pizza dinner the food is pretty good, however there’s a place by my house with equally tasty pizza, and I can drive there, order, eat, drive home and stop at a red box to pick out a movie in under the 2 hour turn around time at half pint. Probably won’t be back. On a side note the fiancé did mention the vintage atmosphere was nice, I agree however found it quite loud… noise just seemed to carry.

We tried Half Pint for the first time last weekend. We had spent all day in the yard. We were a little grimy, very sore, and starving. Seemed like we fit right in. The pizza was some of the best I’ve had in the PNW. This part of the country is seriously lacking in a pizza culture, but this place does a decent job. It starts with the crust and HP gets it right. I also ordered a steak sandwich– so huge! I thought they made a mistake and brought me two sandwiches, but they insisted it was only one sandwich cut in half. The best part about Half-Pint is that it’s family/kid friendly. Yes, there’s a full bar. Yes, kiddos are welcome. No they don’t care if the little ragamuffins climb all over the place and mash buttons on the pinball or Pac-Man game. Yes, I buried the lead there. They have a vintage Pac Man arcade game. I’m holding onto the 5th star for service. We had to flag down the waitress/bartender for refills and they were pretty slow bringing the check/bringing back my credit card. Tonight we’re gonna see how they handle carry-out. Updates to follow soon.

This place has great pizza. I’m partial to the thin crust and the spicy sauce. They have happy hour every day until 5, so our pizza was cheaper and our pints of local beer were $ 4. We didn’t bring the kids this time, but we will the next chance we get.

A solid place to grab a drink with friends. The food selection is limited but they have good pizza and calzones. It is usually busy on the weekends and they have live music often. Staff is friendly and provide good service. Good stop if you’re on 6th!

Saturday night, I had a pizza with my friend Jes and it was dank as s*** yo. Then Sunday night… I don’t know what happened, but this place smelled like poop. Literally. Odor just reeked throughout this place. Very surprised no one said anything besides my table. Had a beer but the odor was disgusting. Never going back. Parvis droppings.

What a great little spot for pizza. Restaurant is not huge, so i was surprised to see 20 beers on tap… plus one root beer. I had a three topping large pizza for $ 15. The inhouse made crust was deliciuos. Thin, but not cracker crispy. Soft, but sturdy enough to hold the three toppings. Plus, the crust wasn’t burnt, which is how it normally comes at the more expensive, fancy pizza chains. The big bonus is that the pizza is not greasy, this makes for great reheated pizza the next day. The staff is fast and friendly. The location is in the busy part of Tacoma’s 6th Ave, so a short walk is expected. I will definately be returning to this spot.
