Walmart Supercenter

No carts for the handicapped. What a crock of S- - T! So the handicapped, like myself have to shop elsewhere. Maybe management should quit punishing the handicapped and start firing security! These slobs ride around in their Brosnan security truck with headphones on and dancing. If they were doing their job instead of playing all day then maybe the handicapped wouldn’t have to be punished! Manager of Walmart union ave, pull your head out of your a- S and hire security that is interested in working!

Since my last review, they’ve greatly improved their ordering system. I have no complaints there. But I’d like to leave this letter to one of your employees:
Dear Cashier named Janelle with Red Hair,
I am not sure why you were so mean to me upon my arrival at your register, but I assure you it was for no good reason. You asked me if I’d like my «tea left out». I misheard this as «receipt out» but for good reason: I know your door greeters check receipts. You responded without looking up in a hiss, «I said TEA.» I smiled, looked up at you, laughed it off, and apologized for the mistake, but by then (apparently) the damage was done. You made no eye contact whatsoever.
The rest of the transaction was eerily and coldly silent. I’d brought my own bag and you shoved everything in it, even though I’d clearly bought more items than could fit. After you put everything in the bag, you noticed I would not be able to use the handles. You then waved your hand in a manner I can only describe as «away with you». I then took it upon myself to rebag some of the items in a plastic bag as you began to ring up the next customer… a nice old man and his wife.
Oddly enough, you greeted them very warmly. Smiling, making eye contact, even cracking at joke at them.
Now, I’ve thought a bit about why exactly you were so openly callous to me. I can only chalk this up as a learned societal response engrained in women at a very young age: you see another woman around your same age and you react hostile. Some research argues this behavior is a type of natural selection response: the other female is seen as a threat and may take the other’s mate, so the first female acts negatively to the other.
Personally, I tend to disagree with this theory… especially in today’s day and age. There is no need to be hostile to another woman simply because she is there. I am not attempting to take your mate. We are not competing for food or shelter or territory. It is senseless.
I urge you and all other women to look beyond what we are taught as young girls. Fellow women are not our enemies, but our companions. We should encourage each other and support each other and treat each other as equals. Life is too short for this «Mean Girls» mentality.

The lines are always long, and the service always par. It’s Walmart. What peeves me about this one is that they don’t sell chilling racks for baking! I’ve gone five times and checked, no dice. Isn’t this an essential? Their prices aren’t very competitive to other supermarkets out there but who wants to price match every single grocery item. Walmart just does the job sort of well.
Better than the Lakewood one.

First time at this location and I can’t see a reason to come back.
The store was decently stocked at best, had crowded aisles due to seasonal floor changes, and rotting produce.
I try to eat healthy and mix it up with non-​meat alternatives /​veggies, both sections had little to select from.
Then finally at the self-​check I saw an obviously in-​house sign that stated they don’t take coupons there anymore? Taped to the register! With the coupon spot taped shut!

I hate Walmart.

Not only because the people there have the crappiest attitudes, but it’s always busy and no cashiers to assist.

How are you a multi billion dollar company but barely have any lines open on a consistent basis? Why is your self checkout line way more active than your regular line? Something’s not right here…

Oh my gosh! Worst Walmart ever! Super dirty and just poor customer service. I was at the register and wanted to buy a T-​shirt that was on clearance and the tag showed $ 3, however when the cashier rung it up it showed $ 9. The cashier didn’t say anything or inform me of the difference until I questioned it and instead of trying to help me out she was like well it rung up $ 9, sorry. And she continued to ring up my stuff and I told her to stop and take off that t-​shirt. She sighed at me and started to get frustrated like I’m an inconvenience. Oh well!!! If it makes her do her job then I’m happy… obviously she don’t like her job. Not my problem.

This review is about the vision center inside of this Walmart. I think maybe they schedule their appointments too close or something. The wait even if you have an appointment is long.

I used to love shopping at Walmart up until I moved to Tacoma because you never really know what to expect when you visit this establishment. Granted, they do have good deals. On our most recent excursion, we purchased camping chairs and a tent which was a steal compared to other establishments we visited. I think what bothers me the most is the customers that shop here. There are just some things you should keep to yourself, or at home. Do you really need to wear a crown while you are shopping? Are you aware that I can see your underwear through your leggings? Do you need to yell to your spouse/​gf ‘why the f*ck didn’t you tell me?’ Really?!
We all know that Walmart has a million registers (I’m kidding, I counted at least 20) but often times, only 4 or 5 are open. I am really glad that this location has self checkout because I can easily get in and out. Also, I ‘d like to update that it is now 24 hours.

A MAN’S MAN Review of Walmart in Tacoma, WA
This place is a 1 star upgrade from the Walmart located in LakeHOOD. Why? Because I can actually find sh*t without having to close my eyes while shopping here. At the Lakewood location I’m having to close my eyes because of the sights I witness with my precious eye-​balls.
Let’s not get it twisted tho! Your still going to see things that no child or man/​woman should ever have to witness but let’s give this place credit but not too much credit because then these folks running the Tacoma location all of a sudden think they better than the other Walmarts. Whatever! I still shop at the Lakewood location since it’s closer to me but this location is my preferred Walmart.
They have made improvements at this location in having more cashiers available at rush hour at the registers but still only have one associate at customer service. I’m assuming they took the second associate from customer service and moved him/​her to the upfront registers because now going to customer service is slower. Super slow! I mean you have a long line of baby mommas, meth heads, the elderly, and my a*s at customer service getting all worked up because there’s only one Walmart associate at customer service.
I don’t get all hot but I can see the frustrations coming from the other shoppers. It’s like the senior citizens get so frustrated and end up stepping out of line because their hip is about to give out waiting… to me I just slide on up like a G and slowly ooze my way up to the front but I’m still waiting behind the meth-​heads trying to return something they’ve probably lifted earlier in the day with that five finger discount.
If your checking out and all registers are long with other shoppers I recommend that you go down towards the pharmacy and walk past the health & beauty aisles and you’ll see a lonely Walmart associate with her own register. Your very welcome! Reading my Unilocal reviews does have it advantages! My reviews aren’t always rants. If there isn’t an associate there when you try to pull a quick one then my bad! So it’ll be a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance you might get lucky but if my ears start to burn red hot all of sudden then I know your talking about me.
With any Walmart your going to get lurkers in the parking lot asking for bus money. I stopped being nice because that one dude at the LakeHOOD Safeway awhile ago asked me for bus money and being a nice guy that I am gave him some bus money but instead of walking towards the bus depo this fool walks the opposite direction. That fool gone and messed it up for everyone!
Anyhow… lurkers in all Walmart parking, improvement in having cashiers available at the registers except for customer service, clean facility, well stocked compared to other Walmart locations, and senior citizens in the parking lot with broken hips because they got pissed off waiting at customer service.

Jen the manager is rude and has absolutely no customer service! Maybe instead of backing up your employees and making the customer feel threatened you should help them to resolve or over come your company polices. The tote girl !

This walmart is always super busy and the lines are really slow, but I think the reason for the lines is all the weird discounts people get… The savings catcher discounts need to be streamlined because it backs up everything. Also sometimes I go in there and their organic produce section is overflowing and then today I go in there and it is miniscule. Also why don’t they sell organic milk by the gallon anymore? It doesn’t make sense…

Just like every other Walmart: the parking lots are like a war zone, be prepared to duke it out for a parking spot. Some how Wally World manages to attract the worlds most unfriendly customers, speeding their shopping carts around with mean mugs plastered on their seedy faces. 20 check out lanes, but of course only 2 are open with lines 12 miles long. And to top it off with a cherry, the wench cashier insisted she took off the 2 year insurance plan on my microwave but I knew the price wasnt right, I was correct. And. She added a bag of chocolate bars that weren’t mine. I feel bad for the poor woman ahead of me that’s going to get home and be devasted when she realizes she didnt receive her chocolate. To a chick, thats serious.

I thought people were exaggerating about the lines, I don’t know how long I waited but it was a while, I saw so many associates walking around why can’t they have them do the cashiering. This was the closes walmart to me I have no choice I have to continue to come here. I gave them a 2 star I know they don’t care about their ratings.

It’s the same ol’ kind of Walmart… huge, crowded, smells bad (oh wait, that’s the creep I’m standing in line next to!).
Anyways, it’s pretty much what you can expect — low prices for low quality. Some stuff is ok, like I don’t buy packs of diapers or wipes anywhere else because I love their giant boxes of Pampers. But I would never buy groceries there or any clothing unless it’s a cheap t-​shirt for a project or something.
PARKING! It’s the WORST! I almost get hit every time I’ve gone there. Too many aggressive people fighting for those handicapped spots — they run me off the road while I’m trying to find a regular spot!

Pretty good Wal-​Mart. It looks new from the outside. It has everything since it is a ‘Super’center. I was able to find what I was looking for and the store’s presentation is a-​ok.
Prices are rolllllbackkkkk!

Like any other Walmart…50 lines and only 3 open registers. Lines a mile long and the employees seem to hate life. On the upside, they have a ton of items to choose from, $ 5.00 movies, cheap clothes and a grocery section. You can get it at Walmart. I wish they would hear the customers though… We want to have one stop shopping and the convenience of «in and out» service. When you have to wait in line for 30 – 45 minutes for a few items, you generally go elsewhere. Low cost at a high price of waiting time… I would choose another place if those were my odds.
Open more lines, service more people with a faster pace… This would make Walmart a success!

What a shit store. Three cashiers open with long lines. Not the first time either. Poor management not to have adequate shift coverage. This store needs new management and consumers who demand more from walmart.

The floors were cleaner than some of the customers.

Entrances to this location from Union seem a bit difficult to navigate and small when entering. Best to enter/​exit from the back of the store from Cedar St. I don’t know why I let this bother me.
You may not see some of those unique or special Walmart shoppers that you may see in those infamous Walmart shopper emails that we all have seen at some point, but you’ll run into very friendly talkative shoppers. I had two people try and talk my ear off tonight. The other wanted to touch my jacket to see how soft it was.
Every time I come here there are always boxes of products in the aisle. It makes me wonder if they know when or how to properly restock shelves.
I’m glad there is a Walmart in Tacoma. There really wasn’t any small businesses that existed in the area that would have suffered from this store opening. Walmart is American commercialism at its finest. It’s inevitable… unless

First Walmat in Tacoma and I’m in Tacoma the summer it opens!
I just came here out of curiosity. I can understand why locals are upset when big chains come into their city but let’s face it — if it doesn’t happen today, it will tomorrow.
Large parking lot, convenient entrance from the intersection, lots of cash registers.
