Derek H.

Business Owner

Chef Derek Hagglof graduated from Western Culinary School in Portland, Oregon in 1991, interned on Kauai and has worked in the food and beverage industry ever since, with stints on Hollywood movie sets, a private yacht in the Sea of Cortez, hotels in Olympic Valley and restaurants in Hollywood, Malibu, Tahoe and on Kauai. He has been at the helm of his own Lake Tahoe catering company since 1998. Derek enjoys mountain biking, kite-​surfing, building houses and modifying 4-​wd vans, but he is in his element when multi-​tasking in the kitchen, reducing stocks and sauces, fine-​tuning flavors and making people happy with his culinary creations.
