Great staff and great food! My omelet came out a bit undercooked. They snatched it right back. Made me an all new one with new potatoes and toast. They offer gluten free options too. Such a nice morning with GF toast.

I love locally owned places that have unique menu items. This Capital Circle location is open for breakfast and lunch only. I’ve been here for both. The lunch was excellent even though we came in at almost closing time, the staff was kind and accommodating. You cannot go wrong with this location

Wanted a good breakfast place while visiting Tallahassee so i trusted my fellow Unilocal reviewers. GREAT delicious food, long wait but worth the quality and yummy food!!! Loved it!

Probably my favorite breakfast place to eat, ever! My boyfriend and I freaking love it. I’ve had a wide variety of entrees and everything is always delicious. Their banana foster is game changing. The breakfast sandwich is sooo good also. I love their coffee too. It’s from a special company called Goat something. Yes, they are always slammed busy on the weekends and on ANY holiday, but it surely worth the wait :)

Never a disappointment! Have come to this location countless times and even on a busy weekend morning we have never had to wait long. The portions are huge and their menu is also. They serve lucky goat coffee as well. Definitely a solid and reliable breakfast joint in town!

One of the spots I take anyone visiting me to for breakfast. It’s the closest thing to a diner Tallahassee really has and it is good. I’ve never had a bad dish here and I’ve tried a lot at this point. A fave though are their multigrain pancakes with fruit; so tasty! I also have a love affair with their potatoes. Their service is always quick and friendly at this location(Capital Circle) and it’s usually packed so be ready to wait during the morning rush but it’s worth it!

Canopy Road Café is your quintessential neighborhood diner. They offer a large selection of breakfast entrees including omelets and skillets. I sampled the breakfast quesadilla this morning. While very tasty, I found it to be overly greasy. The home fries that come with it are little nuggets of perfection. My husband sampled the Special, which consisted of scrambled eggs, a sausage link, home fries, & toast. Prices are similar to any other breakfast diner and the staff is friendly. Would recommend but suggest going early to beat the crowd.

Whenever I’m back in Tallahassee, my parents without fail want to grab breakfast or brunch. Canopy Road Café has been around for a good while now, although it was after I left Tallahassee in 2009. According to my parents, this location is relatively new, as they moved from walking distance from my parents’ home to unfortunately, a quick drive. Parking is limited but we thankfully didn’t have much trouble. There was quite a bit of a wait around 10:30am on a Saturday morning, although there seemed to be empty tables available — they just hadn’t gotten around to bussing the tables. Regarding service — there are so many people working. However, it looks like everyone working there was doing the exact same thing. Everyone seated their own guests, served their own guests, and bussed their own tables. How can they not see the bottlenecks this creates in efficiency? Most restaurants have a hostess, servers and a busboy or two. It took a while to order, get our food, and grab the attention of our super busy server. I can’t blame him — the fault is in the process. We ordered different egg entrees. I ended up ordering the Douglas — avocado and bacon with turkey topped with three over medium eggs? Yes, please! Food here is very simple, in a diner sense: a step up from Waffle House. Overall, a solid breakfast but not brunch. Nothing special(especially service-wise) but food isn’t bad. I think of it being elevated late night food and coffee.

It doesn’t get any more diner that Canopy Road! Having«grown up» during my college years going to the location on Monroe st, discovering their second location on Capital Circle was truly a blessing. The Monroe St location can get SO busy, especially on the weekends, when the breakfast food is needed more than ever. When I started my current job a few years ago, and saw Canopy Road on the map just a few blocks away, it became one of my go-tos for a weekday lunch. I think the best part about Canopy Road is that you have the option of getting some old fashioned diner food, but you can still opt for something a little off the beaten path. The sweet potato fries are my favorite!

This was a half-step above a Waffle House. I may have gone into it with high expectations due to the rave reviews, but I was not thrilled with the food. It was not anything special, especially for the price. Do yourself a favor and save some money by dining at your local Waffle House.

This is an excellent place for breakfast. Tons of options for sweet and savory breakfast lovers. I’ve had the Bananas Foster French Toast and loved it. My husband loves the egg dishes. Their bacon is always crispy. Service sometimes can be frantic but I understand that weekend mornings are very busy. We will be back!

First time here and we had very good service. Food was good, coffee was good in the mild direction. I like mine a little strong but at least it was fresh. Very nice and friendly people to greet us right away. We didn’t have to guess what direction we had to go. Get here before 10 for quicker seating. We got here and sat right away at 9:30 and saw that it was quickly getting packed waiting for a place.

Very cute little café. We went at 10:00 and it was very crowded. The worker told us we could sit at the bar or wait for a table. We decided to sit and wait but it wasn’t even two minutes later that a table opened up. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Even though it was packed they constantly stopped by to check on us. My son created his own omelette with bacon and provolone cheese. He loved it! It also came with hashbrowns and a biscuit, which I have to admit that I ate. It was delicious. I ordered the Bebee(veggie skillet) which came over hashbrowns and wheat toast and loved it as well. There were plenty of choices on the menu, so many that I couldn’t make up my mind right away. But on the next trip there the French toast will be a must!

In Tallahassee for a visit and my daughter suggested this because breakfast served til 2:15! I had the breakfast skillet and it was excellent! Biscuits and gravy and pancakes were good too. One lone grandchild had a hamburger. All in all… a great place to eat!!!

This was my first trip to Canopy Road Café and it was a very good experience. Stopped in for lunch. Purchased an omelet(which comes with hashbrowns and toast) while my fiancé got the house salad. Everything was delicious and the portions were larger than expected. The servers were very polite and very helpful. The only criticism on our visit was that it was a little too hot inside the restaurant and the back room felt a little cramped; however, neither of these things affected us enough to keep us from having a good experience.

My wife and I have been frequent flyers of Canopy Road(on Monroe) for some time now. It’s a go-to place, for us(and countless others, as any saturday morning’s stupendous wait-line will attest) and will continue to be so. We were ready for this location to «almost be as awesome» as the original location. We can say that it’s on the same level. Quality has not been sacrificed, and both front and back-of-the-house staff brings their A-game. For breakfast, expect the usual suspects — and then some. The«and then some“s are as follow: (for starters, the menu is laid out more intuitively and creatively than, IMHO, many other breakfast lunch places). Under handhelds — the Morning Monte Cristo is a great adaptation of the lunch version.(some of you may already know that a Monte Cristo is just the U.S. version of the early 20th century sandwich known as the«Croque Monsieur» — but I digress). This baby is as awesome as it sounds, and with the scrambled eggs inserted, along with the bread transformed into the transformative«French Toast» — you are suddenly facing a «top of the mountain» experience of saga-esque proportions. So — The Morning Monte Cristo is good. There are various ingenious creations under the Omelette section –just google the menu, you’ll see what I mean. The Skillets deliver a solid 1 – 2. I’m particular to «The Roger»(add jalapenos). That’s what I had today(see associated video.). Wife often has difficulties choosing between the Bananas Foster French Toast and the Banana Split Waffle.(to paraphrase PINK, «this stuff’s banana! B A N A N A S!») I’m not a pancake guy — but I often travel amongst pancake feeders, so I see satisfaction at the table because of the pancakes — therefore they are good too. Anyway — today’s visit was no different than any other. Swift and courteous staff attention — speedy order completion — and no mistakes. Nice… real nice…

Family of three adults had a late weekday breakfast here. Good menu variety. Very tasty food. Super friendly helpful waitstaff. Food came out fast and hot. A little pricey for breakfast– meal came to $ 50(incl tip) for the three of us– French toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon, grits, coffee, and tea. That’s the only reason for the slightly lower rating.

Good breakfast spot with good food. We ordered the cap n crunch French toast, not as good as blue moon café in Baltimore, but tasty. Loved the combination with the fruit! We also had the chicken and waffles(not as crisp as I would have liked). Also had eggs and ham. Good. Not the best breakfast I’ve had, but this place is super duper affordable! Having poached eggs would have pushed them to 4 stars.

This location feels a little cleaner and less cramped. The food is mediocre. I ordered the tofu scramble and the tofu is hardly seasoned at all. The entire dish was pretty bland in general. My husband ordered the Skeeter and the chicken fried steak on that dish was similar to what you would get at a grade school hot lunch bar. It wasn’t bad, but again, not very impressive. One of our friends ordered the captain crunch french toast and no one could tell it was breaded with captain crunch cereal. It was fairly ordinary french toast. It tasted good, but again, fairly standard french toast. Our other friend ordered the Floridian French Toast and that was probably one of the better meals. Exactly how it was described and represented on the menu.
