We love having brunch here! Always quick service, good food, and great coffee. The prices are perfect for 2 grad students. Yes, there is definitely a wait time if you come during brunch hours on the weekends, but it’s well worth it and they do a good job of efficiently getting you sat. We usually sit on the patio with our dogs and the server is always quick to bring out a bowl of water for them without us even having to ask, which is very nice. Huge menu with lots of choices and they never give you a hard time if you substitute or add on to what you’re ordering. Seriously though, REALLY good coffee. My fiancé’s favorite brunch place is Uptown Café, but this is hands down mine!

The food, atmosphere, and service were great here. Especially our waiter, George. He did not miss a beat. He was friendly, helpful with the menu, quick to bring out the food and kept our coffees full. I got the countryside scramble which was excellent and my boyfriend got the chicken and waffle and he said not only was the waffle delicious the whipped cream on top was especially excellent. We will definitely be back!

One of the best breakfast spots to eat in Tallahassee. The service is always great and food is always the best. I have had many dishes on the menu and have always been left impressed with them. Even when they are packed the food is always worth the wait.

The experience started as soon as we walked in to this place. After calling at 9:16am and being told that the waiting time was 7 – 10 minutes, we arrived at the Egg at 9:22am to only being told the wait for 45 mins! What changed in 6 mins? No one even acknowledged giving us that wrong information, and after speaking with a very condescending manager, we of course, left. By the way, I was my dad who walks with an oxygen tank reason why we called in the first place.

Went here for the first time this morning. Maybe my expectations were very high given the Unilocal reviews, but found the food to be very ordinary. Service was very good, but portions were rather small. Prices pretty high for what you get. Would look for other places.

We’ve been to The Egg a few times when up visiting our son at FSU. We always stop by for breakfast on the way out of town and happy to say The Egg has been very consistent with their food quality and service. It’s a good quality breakfast, hearty and a great cup of coffee. Plenty of parking and of the 3 times we’ve been there, only had to wait about 10 minutes once.

Been here a few times and the food menu is really quite good, though they seem to under-season their dishes consistently(and I am not a heavy salt lover). Service is always kind and prompt, and they do a good job of making my kids feel special there(super fancy chocolate milk). Prices aren’t discount, but they fit the atmosphere and ingredients.

Breakfast was great, the prices were reasonable, the service was top notch and the food tasted delicious. I had the Philly cheese stake omelette with orange juice and I had enough leftover for tomorrow. The omelette was deliciously cheese and the potatoes that come with it were so yummy and crispy. Also, I think the OJ is freshly squeezed because it doesn’t taste like concentrate and it has A LOT of pulp. Overall it was excellent, this is my second time and hope to come back many more times.

We came into town for a business meeting and stopped to have breakfast. This is place highly recommended and the food was amazing. If your in Tallahassee definitely stop in and grab breakfast.

Not sure whether because of lack of options or because I love it, this is my favorite brunch place in Tallahassee. They have a big menu, I’ve the lucky goat coffee. Bennys are so good that I can’t get over them. On a Sunday morning, you’ll always have to wait 20 – 30 minutes for a group of 3 or more. I’ve stopped eating red meat recently, but they can replace any meat with any other vegetable or meat. This is a good perk for me. I’ve never had a bad experience in terms of customer service and food. Recommendation is to try it at least once.

One of my go-to places for breakfast/brunch. I was raised in South Florida and never really experienced restaurants that close by 2−3pm like a number of them do in Tallahassee. The Egg is typically something I have to plan for or hope I don’t work the night before. Trust be told, the wait here isn’t always pleasant. Although, I’ve never sat down to a plate and cup of coffee that wasn’t worth it. Off the top of my head, I know I’ve had the crab cake benny and ponce de leon.(I clearly like my crab.) I’m honestly a sucker for their southern fried potatoes. Few things in the world disappoint me like a mediocre potato side. Another plus to this place is that it’s a little ways away from the college area. If you have the time, drive away from the school area. Most of the locals live and eat out there for a reason.

Horrible experience… upon walking in and reading the menu was very pleased, drinks came promptly… so we kept waiting for our food we noticed at the 25 minute mark another table came and sat near us(they got there food before us… after 30 minutes of waiting the managers came and asked us to stand where they removed our table and switched the table with another one, the rudest thing I’ve almost ever experienced and then they still didn’t pay any attention to the fact it’s now been 40 minutes… at 45 –50 minutes the other table got there food so we decided it was time to leave… BREAKFASTSHOULDNOTTAKEANHOURTOCOOKFORTWOPEOPLE

Found this place on Unilocal and stopped for breakfast on a road trip. The surf n turf Benedict was good. Crab cake and iron flat steak on a muffin w hollandaise sauce. The huevos rancheros dish was very good. I would recommend either of those. The menu had lots of options to choose from so it may surely cater to many palettes.

This place is the definition of brunch. They have a huge menu of breakfast and lunch eats. With such a large menu it is hard to choose, but I was in the mood for something a bit on the lighter side and got a veggie wrap. My co-workers and I shared the beignets and they started are brunch off right. They are served with apple butter and a citrus marmalade. The marmalade was my favorite and complimented the crispy beignets well. The veggie wrap was pretty good, a little too much onion for my taste, but not bad. I like the fact they have an extensive drink menu with signature bloody Mary’s to chocolate milk. I opted for the chocolate milk and have no regrets. It is served in a chilled glass with whipped cream on top. My inner child was extremely happy. I would definitely give this place a try!

Another time where I wish I could give 3.5 stars. The Egg is a pretty popular place around here and somehow I hadn’t visited yet. We arrived around 10 am and waited ~20 minutes to sit down which isn’t uncommon in Tallahassee on a weekend. Once seated it was nice to see that the entire dining room wasn’t full, basically they weren’t packing it without having enough servers. This has pluses because the servers aren’t rushed and the place isn’t loud and uncomfortable. Our server was excellent. She was helpful and attentive and had a good attitude. My fiancé had the special omelette which had every veggie plus bacon and cream cheese inside. He liked it a lot. His meal also came with potatoes and toast. I had the cinnamon roll french toast, which is an actual cinnamon roll made into french toast. It was delicious. It had fresh berries and cream cheese frosting on top. My only complaint was that it was $ 8.79 and it didn’t come with eggs or bacon, and it was small in size as well. I did order a side of bacon and it was cooked just how I like it. I just feel like I’ll be hungry sooner than later and other places in town tend to serve up rather large portions. I oscillate between sweet vs. savory breakfast wants and I think I may have liked this place more if I got something heartier because most of the options leaned that way. I would definitely go back and try it again!

This is never a bad place for breakfast or lunch. Portions are hearty and service is great. It can get busy at the usual morning brunch times so plan accordingly.

The food was great. And love the space. Lots of natural light and super friendly service. I highly recommend asking for Terri as a server she is great. I also thought it was really cute how they nicknamed there benedicts as a «benny». I had the blackstone benny with fried green tomatoes. topped with scallions and crispy bacon crumbles and of course a brilliant hollandaise. Will return!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed The Egg yet. It’s just one of those things. You go to a place over the years and just assume that, way back when, you surely must have scribbled something down on a virtual placemat… Anyway, The Egg has some very interesting items. They have a full lineup of Benedicts. Ingredients include crab, Nova, shrimp — so you know you can get«exotic» if you wish. There are also very considerately assembled omelettes. The Egg is a chic boutique breakfast/lunch place that often has an office meeting in the front parlor(I call it the front parlor, it’s the breakout room in the NE corner). Generally, the staff is gracious and friendly. Every now and then, you come across the curmudgeon(if you’re that server, and you’re reading this — you know who you are.) The Egg is «upscale» in décor, service and menu. There are other places in town that have equally good menus but the décor here, and the appointments in general, mean that it’s a smidge more special — and for special occasions, perhaps that’s what’s called for.

I’ve been meaning to visit The Egg Café for months now and today I finally made the leap. Actually, I tried yesterday as well, but they’re closed on Mondays. I’ve gone ahead and adjusted the hours for us Unilocalers! Anywho, I was slightly hurried before heading to work, so I wanted something quick and easy that would fill me up. I chose their house special of sorts. Eggs were cooked my way, crisp and tender potatoes, choice of meat and an English muffin are all that’s included. The muffin came with a delicious whipped butter. I don’t normally splurge on butter, but it was worth it on the warm bread. My least favorite part of the breakfast was the turkey sausage, a bit bland, possibly microwaved. All in all, the waitress knew I was in a rush and tried her best to accommodate me. She offered me a to-go coffee, which I eagerly accepted. The Egg Café is a cozy restaurant, catering to I’d assume an older crowd. Nonetheless, I plan on returning to try one of their signature omelettes or Benedict’s. Hopefully I can update this review and give it four stars. It definitely has the potential!
