It’s tough to find anything«less-than-stellar» with Grub. This is a unique concept that showcases a full-service bar along with big screens, a groovy/edgy/post-hipster vibe, and burgers/sandwiches/salads/shakes that a five-star/five-diamond establishment couldn’t top. There is often a line to the door, where visitors are generally greeted by a cheerful employee with menus and a smile. The burgers are good — and there is plenty written about them in the other reviews. What merits special attention is the Ahi Tuna salad. If one HAD to extend a complaint, it would be that it’s TOO flavorful. It’s that good. The presentation rivals the taste. It’s a complete marriage of form and function. Of style and substance. Frankly, I think it’s the best item on the menu. So, when you hear such witticisms as «don’t order fish in a steakhouse», you’ll know one example that dispels it.

Went here with my roommate for a free burger! It definitely is a unique place they have really thin fries and their burger buns are good enough to be sold separately! The burgers themselves I thought were a greasy. *This could be bc we came on a day they were handing out free burgers and the grill was over run* so I rest my case, I would try them again. Be warned that their glazed milkshake is disgusting, it’s riddled with chunks of what tastes like stale doughnut and has the consistency of spoiled milk. I threw mine out, for a $ 6 milkshake I was pretty disappointed!

About a month ago I wanted to try out Grubs burgers so I ordered online. I had accidentally pressed enter twice causing duplicate orders so I called the restaurant. The employee was very nice and helped me cancel one of the orders and even showed me the voided transaction when I got there. For me, the bun can make or break the whole hamburger experience. Grub Burger Bar does an excellent job. The buns are soft and delicious and complement the fillings instead of masking the taste of what’s inside. We ordered the Lockhart Legend, Swimming Up Stream and a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were tasty but I thought there would’ve be more for the price. We liked the Swimming Up Stream Burger. The salmon was nicely cooked, not dry, and the toppings made it even better. I read on the menu that there should’ve been avocado but ours didn’t have any. Still, it was delicious. We enjoyed the fried onion rings on top of the Lockhart more so than the burger itself. Although topped with BBQ sauce, it still seemed to lack some flavor. Overall Grub is good and their pricing is suited for the quality ingredients that they use. The atmosphere seems very laid back and the service was exceptional. We will be back to try some of the other burgers.

Had a burger with guacamole and milkshake. It was so goooood! A hint if spiciness was making the burger very savory. My hub and I were both satisfied. service was friendly and the atmoshere had a cool vibe.

When craving a burger, there are so many options in Tallahassee that it can be easy to fall into the same routine in order to avoid cerebral panic(just take a look at my Check-ins, and you’ll see that this holds true for me). However, my Trader Joe’s trips generally necessitate a lunch date so that I do not buy all of the store due to hunger. For this, Grub is perfect. The burgers here are well made and showcase exciting flavors that you won’t find elsewhere. The buns are phenomenal(made in-house), and the skinny fries are delicious. For me, the burgers are a bit too large — I wish they would sell a half-size burger — and after eating them, I don’t feel so great. Also, the $ 4 cost of adding fries and a drink just doesn’t seem worth it to me when I know it will be too much food to finish. However, I know that I’m in the minority in that I eat like a bird, so this cost: gluttony ratio gripe doesn’t affect my star-rating for Grub. For smaller appetites like mine, I recommend the Harlem Chicken Strips, which are technically an appetizer, but are enough to leave you satisfied, but not loosening your belt buckle. Skip the soda, go for a water. This meal will only run you about $ 8. The sauces are phenomenal — Mississippi Comeback sauce is the best — and they come with french fries. Unlike other burger joints, Grub also has a full bar, and some delicious cocktails to boot! It’s a good place for a date night(as long as your date likes burgers, and if he/she doesn’t, it might be time to question the relationship). Final word: Grub is unique and delicious, albeit a little expensive, so bring your appetite and your open mind and try something new!

Really cool atmosphere and food! Burgers are delicious and the fresh buns and toppings really make the burgers! Sweet potato fries are awesome, and the bbq topped fries(in appetizer section), are too! The best part was my vanilla bean milkshake. OMG! It should be illegal it was so good! You may pay a little more, but get quality food for the money!

I love grub! the staff is so friendly and even though it’s fast-casual dining they check your table and bring you anything you need. I order the hippie chick pea or the ahi tuna salad, but I’ve tried 3 other burgers my friends have ordered and they’re amazing also! did I mention the fries are out of this world? try them with their ranch or their chipotle ketchup… and save your recipe wot to get a free shake on your next visit! I will say it takes a little while for your food to come out, but it’s well worth the wait ** also if you put a donation in the box to your left when you are waiting to order you can take a bag of their buns that aren’t fresh anymore but still yummy!

I’ve never been able to really prepare for a Grub burger, physically or mentally. I always underestimate how filling a burger, fries, and a drink are when I come here. With that said, I’ve never left here without being content and borderline hating myself for not going to the gym more often. Their burger options are so much more eclectic than your average burger joint. I’ve yet to order one myself, but I’ve heard their milkshakes are pretty awesome. My last visit here was with a good friend and my boyfriend. I don’t recall what specific burger I ordered but it had Tabasco mayo that was pretty damn tasty. Every time I’ve come here I can’t help but stare at how well this place has been designed with wood features and quirky lyrics. If you’re super hungry and looking for a different burger than your average, Grub is the place for you.

The food is good and the patron margarita is strong and well worth it! Nice atmosphere !! I definitely will come back and try the other burgers and things on the menu! I had the You’re my boy blue burger and it was really good. I can’t wait to try the turkey burger next time I visit!

So how many burger joints does Tallahassee need? Just a few, as long as one of them is Grub. It is by far the best chain-burger joint in town. Process is simple: grab a menu as you walk in, study it as you head past the bar, and walk back to the register.(Note the bin of older bread on your left, as its for sale should you be in need.) Place your order, including your bar drink order(!), take your locator disc, head to the drink area to get your non-alcoholic drinks, and find a table. Seating is non traditional: there are few traditional height tables inside(look in front of the bar, near the window for these). Most are high top tables and chairs, and booths that are at high top height. But if the weather is nice, head outside. The patio is comfortable and smoke-free(and the tables at normal height). The servers will bring your cocktail/beer/wine and food to your table(those locators work exceptionally well). The burgers are quite good, and the skinny fries are heaven. They also have great salads, and will sub a multitude of proteins(think chicken) and mock-teins(think black bean patty) for the beef. Oh, and the onion rings are delicious. Sadly, haven’t tried the spiked milkshakes yet. If you’re in NE and looking for a burger fix with a little class(and optional booze), you’d be hard pressed to top Grub.

Easily one of my favorite burger spots in Tallahassee. So thankful that Grub Burger decided to put their first Florida location here! I’ve been here numerous times and tried almost every burger. My favorites are the Ghost Burger Inferno Style(they bring you a shot of milkshake it’s so hot) and the Swimmin’ Up Stream. Not only great burgers but their fries are excellent. I love shoe string fries so I’m always down for theirs! Want to try something different? Try the Luau Fries! Topped with pulled pork, cheese, jalapeños, and bbq sauce. Overall, great restaurant, lots of seating. Parking lot is a headache sometimes. They’ve got a Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, and Chipotle. After finding a spot, you’re good to go. Fun tidbit: the tables have GPS in them so the servers know which table to bring your food to! I thought this was so cool!

There are so many burger places in Tallahassee currently. This one rises to the top as far as quality of ingredients and overall flavor. I have had every burger on their menu. It is tied for my favorite burger in this town, which is saying a lot. Service here is very different, as you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. You can also order from your table, as servers come around to check on you and see if you need anything. Great concept and execution. Glad they are in my town.

Busy Friday night & my first visit. Free wifi(Pw: grubgrub). I ordered the Swimmin’UpStream(Hand chopped Wild Alaskan Salmon with avocado and ancho chile, topped with black bean charred corn medley, tequila lime aioli and fresh cilantro). It was tasty. I read Unilocal for recommendations before looking at the menu and also tried the onion rings(good) and a spiked milkshake(Caramel Bourbon), it was delish! I had a couple of bites of the seared tuna(good). Randall from TX stopped by our table to check on us, and was an absolute delight — he more than made up for the sour faced little girl who was our bartender(seriously she doesn’t look 5 years from 21). I’ll definitely return, next time I want to try the Tuna burger with the watermelon basil margarita… Or maybe the Mango Whit beer…

Great atmosphere did try any burgers due to diet restrictions but there salad was fresh. They also have milkshakes and a bar. You can even get your milkshakes spiced.

Not much for presentation, but I was fairly pleased with my burger and shake. I ordered the ghost burger with an inferno shot and it was juicy, tender, and spicy– Exactly what I look for in a burger. It might seem a little odd to get served a shot of ice cream alongside your burger but after you get a taste of the ghost pepper sauce, you’ll be happy that you did. It actually makes for a complementary balance of spicy, salty, and sweet. A total party in your mouth. To top off my burger, my friend and I decided to split one of their spiked shakes– the apple pie. Loved it! It was a perfect blend of creamy ice cream and alcohol. Best of all, it was large enough to share! I highly recommend checking this place out. One thing I did note, and only because my friend mentioned it, there are very few low tables. That makes it not very friendly for wheel chairs and children. Just a word of caution for those that may take issue with this.

Return visit and it doesn’t disappoint. Instead of a burger, hubby and I had side salads, ahi tuna appetizer, and crawfish pistolette. I ventured out to try the hazelnut vinaigrette, which was surprising and flavorful. Light, creamy, chunks of hazelnut, slightly sweet flavor. The Ahi tuna appetizer was very nice, good quality, and the crawfish pistolette was spicy, chewy, and satisfying. Very unique flavor combinations tonight! I also had the infused ‘rita, which was not as spicy as I’d like but quite good. Kids had burgers, and devoured them quickly. We like the upscale burger/bar vibe of Grub and feel fancy when we’re here for a quick & easy dinner… it doesn’t feel like a greasy burger joint. Tonight’s bonus was the free milkshake offer! On the back of the ketchup bottle you’ll find a reward text code. Three of our party entered the code, completed the simple demographic survey, and were rewarded with a free milkshake of their choice! What a treat!

This place beat all my expectations last night. Came in pretty late with two friends and sat at the bar so we could be served. Bartender hooked us up with couple drinks and shots while we went though menu. Ordered luau burger, ghost burger, and lockhart burger. My buddy next to me who always criticizes food said best burger he’s ever had… ghost. I have to say the luau burger made using pork…10/10. Lockhart made with beef, onion ring, and AWBBQ sauce… love! All in all: Fresh meat, fresh bun, good service but it came down to the AW root beer BBQ sauce!!!

I don’t actually like burgers much but I’ve been here twice already. Guess that means this place has potential. Food is pretty on par. I’ve tried the Thai peanut burger recommended by a bartender. It turned out to be really good. I also tried the ahi tuna appetizer. It was very good but tiny. I’ve also tried the hand crafted apple pie shake and the regular salted caramel shake. Both were decent. Service was not on par. There were lots of hiccups. The first time I sat at the bar, it took a very long time to get my food. The bartender also made a mistake on my order as to-go when I specifically told him that I was dining in. He appeared like a college kid who needed more life lessons than just college lessons. The second time I did take-out. My order was ready when I walked in to a long line. I had to walk across the whole restaurant to get to the to-go pickup. Odd and inconvenient. A very polite gentleman who appears to be the manager approached me quickly and I was able to pay and pick up my food in a short amount of time. However, I had to walk back to the bar to pick up my shake which was an odd arrangement. Also there was no table or counter at the pick-up for me to sign my credit card. Another odd setup. Ppl working there are nice and polite. But everything is not streamlined so they deff need to work out a better solution to be more efficient. I’d gladly return but I hope they get better on both food and service over time.

Good: burgers not over priced bad: Prices for extras not posted anywhere… not on the menu… not near the registers… no where Good: even though the line was long, it moved quickly. Girls working the register great and confirmed orders. Bad: she never mentioned they we could order shakes at table so we ordered when we placed order and told them to hold for about 20 minutes. That derailed getting our Shake at all. Bad: couldn’t keep track of who was actually taking care of us Husband’s chili was delicious Husband’s Greek salad was delicious I had a burger with a fried egg(perfectly cooked) and avocado(very small amount added).it was delicious. Friend’s onion rings were greasy… she enjoyed her burger. Other friend has the signature burger which he thought was delicious Skinny fries were delicious Apple slices with kid’s meal were fresh. Chicken tenders were very thin The servers didn’t know what soda water was so my husband had to walk over to the bar and ask for club soda. Never got the shake. Told that because I asked to hold that they lost the order. That would have been okay except I asked about it several times. Manager came over with my money back and gave me a coupon for a free shake for next time. Too bad I don’t live in Tallahassee so I gave it to our friends.

Roll out the red carpet for yet another incredible burger joint in Florida’s Capitol. Grub’s been on my radar for a while now, and I couldn’t be happier to report to the Unilocal community how freakin’ tasty the finished product is. Grub has taken the concept of many different places and capitalized on the best of each premise. Grub solidifies itself as the sole upscale/fast casual/fully equipped rock and roll bar in TLH. Now that in itself, is something to write home about. The bleu cheese burger, aptly titled«You’re My Boy Blue,» was balanced and tender, with the salty bleu cheese as the star of the show. But the real kicker was the baked in-house bun. Like butta. And those sweet potato fries were crisp and as sweet as candy. According to my source — the utilization of waffle fries is unique to the Tallahassee location. The dudes behind the operation are extremely passionate and it shows in the food, the atmosphere and the knowledgeable staff. Plus they serve signature milkshakes and have two huge vinyl artworks on the wall. Sold! Grub, seriously, where have you been all my life?
