Camelback Mountain Adventures

We went there for the Treetop adventures ropes course, levels 1 – 3.
They say it starts at 1:30, but by the time you actually start, it’s around 2:15. After you pay, there isn’t a lot of direction. We were directed to wait «out there» for further direction, so we found ourselves asking people where to go. Then there is a lot of standing around waiting, and you aren’t really sure what you’re waiting for.
Finally, you are thrown into a harness and directed to follow someone up a hill to begin. You are warned not to bring a camera. We were told if they see it more than 2 times, they will ask you to leave. Except no one is around to «catch you», but more about that in a minute.
Ok, so they bring you to this little area where there are «practice courses» very low off the ground. A guide tells you have to use your carabiner and your ziplines. There are guides sitting and standing everywhere in this area. You don’t really know who is a guide though at first glance because they are mostly sitting around and the ones we saw weren’t very enthusiastic about answering questions.
You are told all of the rules and if you break any rules or if they see you not being safe, you will be asked to leave. Also at any point you need assistance, you said «guide» 3 times and someone will help you. They warn you if you do this you won’t be able to continue farther though, as it gets progressively more difficult/​higher in the trees.
The problem is that after the first course, you’re basically on your own. The guides are non existent. You are really, REALLY high in the trees. Up to 80 feet. We saw people jumping off bases and fooling around making it unsafe for others, but there were no guides to see this. Also, many times there were more than 3 people on each base and more than 2 people on the actual obstacle. I panicked at one point when a 3^rd person came onto the obstacle behind me. There was a 11 year old with the family in front of us and he kept getting stuck. He easily could have gotten hurt or needed help and again, no guides in sight. We even called out at one point when a rope was stuck in the middle of 2 obstacles and no one came, so another group had to help us.
It is a fun experience, but the lack of supervision /​ready help is unnerving. We were going to take my 14 year old brothers but I’m rethinking how safe it is to bring them.

We visited here strictly for the Mountain Coaster. I was having memories of riding the alpine slides when I was a kid, and wanted to take my kiddos to ride them. As I was searching around the Poconos for alpine slides, mountain coasters was all that was coming up. So, we decided to give it a try. It was a lot of fun, and something that the whole family enjoyed. I would love to try other mountain coasters in other areas to compare. If it wasn’t so expensive, I would have loved to have done it a few more times. There were 5 of us, and $ 10 per person, per ride is a bit much, in my opinion.

Just came back from the Camelback Treetop Adventure Course– full rope course, 1000 ft zipline, and mountain coaster.
We got there a little early. We had reservations for 930am but they bumped us up to 9am, which was nice. I would recommend that you start early because theres less people and the obstacle courses are less crowded so you don’t have to wait for other people to finish. The rope course was challenging but doable. I was slightly pushed out of my comfort zone. It was my first time, and I had a lot of fun with it! If you can, bring a pair of thin gloves for the rope course. By the 5^th obstacle course, my hands were red and sore. They have ones you can borrow but I think it costs money.
The zipline was AWESOME! I wish I could have done it twice!
The mountain coaster had a long line. When i finally got on it pulls you up higher into the mountain which was a nice scenic view. Coming down was pretty bumpy and scary. I felt like my cart was going to slide right off the track, but I made it alive! They have levers to adjust your speed though, fyi.
An overall great day and experience. All of that took about 5 hours including a lunch break. Staff was very friendly and would love to come back!

we did the tree top adventure course as part of a bachelorette weekend. there are 5 courses in all (not going to lie, i skipped the 4^th and went right to the end because I was getting tired). it was fun and challenging, but there’s a few things I wish I knew before we went, and that camelback should post on their website.
1. if you are scared of heights in any way, DO NOT do this course! some of the obstacles are pretty high, especially towards the end.
2. YOU are doing all the work-​after a brief safety lesson and a run through a practice course, you are on your own! there’s no guide going with you to hook you up to the ziplines & obstacles… you will be doing everything yourself. there are guides on the ground, but we found them to be few and far between, especially towards the end of the courses. a little disconcerting, but hey, I guess since we didn’t die it’s ok.
3. bring gloves-​they are not provided. my hands are still raw & blistered 4 days later from hanging on to metal lines for dear life. weightlifting or yard gloves would be ideal.
4. helmets are not provided either. I was very surprised at this, especially since you are doing all the work. seems like this should really be a safety concern. I don’t know if they will let you bring your own.
5. wear workout clothing. you can wear shorts, but I don’t recommend it. you will have a harness that goes around your waist & thighs, between your legs. shorts can make the straps uncomfortable. you also have to wear sneakers. pull your hair back and don’t wear any jewelry.
6. get there early-​even though we headed out for the resort early, we ended up being about 5 – 10 mins late. traffic to get into the resort is insane & the parking situation is even worse. leave about 30 mins early than you think you need. book an early course time if you can.
to do the entire 5 courses takes about 4 hours, so plan to be there for a while. the front desk staff was kind of rude (I think they were a little overwhelmed), but the guides on the course were nice.
overall, I’m really glad I did this course even though it’s one of the most physically challenging things I’ve ever done. I’d like to do something like this again, but probably not any time soon :)

Wow. This place was indeed an adenture. The Mountain Coaster is off the hook (even though it is a little bit scary on those sharp turns). The 1000 foot and the 4000 zip lines are just incredible. The staff made sure we were all fitted properly into our harnesses and secured. The wait time was only about 15 minutes for each adventure. Snacks are available. Souvenir shop has some nice shirts that are reasonably priced.

Went for their disc golf course which wasn’t much of a course at all, no map, no signage whatsoever, no targets over 100 feet, but it was fun anyhow. Looks like a great place in the winter, and seemed to have lots of fun, adventurous activities for the whole family in the warm weather months like zip lining, etc. A great alternative to typical lake and mountain sports while you’re up there.

This is strictly for the Mountain Adventure activities.
Great facilities (even though at one point the ground level bathrooms didn’t seem to flush). Really nice and accommodating people. My friends and I went to do the treetop, mountain coaster and the zipline. The treetops is definitely tough if you haven’t done anything like this before or not in any shape. I would skip course 4 if you do the full course. The first three weren’t so bad. Personally, I couldn’t finish the full course, so if you can’t or get stuck, don’t worry, there’s no pressure to do the whole thing.
So, I was actually stuck at one of the obstacles. I couldn’t get the put enough strength in my legs to help me with it, so the people at the camelback got me down. Really professional and safe procedure.
The other two activities were fun and would do again even if it’s a 2 minute ride.
So you can’t bring ANYTHING for the treetop adventures. No water bottles, no camera, no phones, etc. I would bring a towel if you’re doing this in the summer, because you will sweat. Don’t worry about pictures, because they take pictures for you and can purchase (another way they make money).
I would recommend this for adventurers. It’s a great experience.

Room was clean and it’s a great, fun family get away. So why the 3 stars? Barely lukewarm warm to shower in in the rooms, a toilet that wouldn’t flush and trying to get a drink or any kind of food at one of the stands in Aquatopia is at minimum a ½ hour adventure… completely unorganized. Would I return? Probably because the kids had a ball…2 days is more than enough time to enjoy the place.

He was extremely professional and handled the situation and positive manner.
I was just very thankful to have the help and wanted to say thank you again.
I have been coming to Camelback many years and it is always a good

One of the best adventures ever!!! So fun!

Soooooo much fun! We did adventure package. Treetop adventure, 1000′ zipline and mountain coaster. Loooooooved it! Treetop course was a blast takes a few hours to do full course. It started pouring rain halfway through, but that didn’t stop anyone. kinda made it more fun and challenging. we were soaked! Zipline was a blast! Mountain coaster got closed due to down pour, but we waited out the rain and it was awesome. (mountain coaster was prob my favorite.) Would have gotten 5 stars except all the employees are teenagers which is fine, but some were just miserable to be there.

Came here with my husband as part of our weekend getaway. We had pre-​booked the $ 59 package of the treetop ropes course, the 1000′ tandem zip lines and the mountain coaster. We had a great time.
There is a series of 5 courses. First you do a mini training run to practice using the carabiners and zip lines. Then course 1 is beginner, course 2 and 3 are intermediate, and courses 4 and 5 are advanced. Beware, this is pretty intense physical activity! I was expecting it to be more about just being brave and not so strenuous. But, that’s ok, it was a good workout and we had a lot of fun. There are steel cable tighropes, swaying bridges, obstacles, short zip lines, cargo nets, and various other challenges. We did skip course 4 though because we were pretty pooped but they let us skip ahead to course 5 to finish up. A word of caution on the last zip line of course 5 — make SURE you manage to grab on at the end to stop yourself. I came in backwards and couldn’t grab anything, and ricocheted back up the line about 100′ and got stuck hanging over the valley. I panicked a bit but the nearby guide coached me through pulling myself back in arm-​over-​arm. Overall I did feel the course could use more supervision — after the initial practice and the first course of watching you the guides get more scarce and sometimes I would look around and see no one, guide or fellow guest, in my sight, as a maneuvered myself through cables 50′ up in the trees. Other than that this was a big hit in our book.
The 1000′ dual zip was fun. It’s over pretty quick but it’s fun to do it side-​by-​side with your partner/​friend/​etc. The mountain coaster was clever and pretty fun (it’s gravity-​powered with you controlling the break), but probably wouldn’t be worth paying for on it’s own. As part of the package, it made a fun last activity.
