I just realized I’ve been tanning here for about ten years (wow), driving past 7 other tanning salons to get here! Great customer service, especially Vivian, the custom airbrush artist… she is a gem! I just purchased another tanning package… gotta work on my summer glow lol. My favorite cocktail: hydration station, tanning bed, and finish with Versa spray… Love!

This is the best salon. especially Vivian and Liz they are very sweet … my favorite thing is the hydration station. And tanning beds .
I hear a lot about Vivian’s custom air brush and that will be the next thing on my list … great place I recommend it 100%

I came to BB bakery for a spray tan before my Hawaii trip. The girl who sprayed me was very sweet. The salon is clean and organized. I loved my color it was a beautiful bronze color evenly sprayed. I’m always afraid of the color becoming orange but this color is made from coffee which has a perfect brown undertone. I will definitely be back to try the beds and the red infrared light bed. One of the best places to get bronzed up. You must stop by!

I love this place! If you’re in need of a spray tan, sun bed, or even teeth whitening this is your go to place! Really clean and well kept. The staff is amazing. Very informative and always smiling. Vivian, Liz, and Kourtney are always such a sweet tanning family! I love coming here. Definitely recommend.

My first time getting an airbrush today and my experience was amazing. The girl that did my airbrush made me feel so comfortable that I forgot I was nude. It’s embarrassing to get naked and have someone airbrush you but honestly because she was so professional I didn’t mind at all. They have amazing services and prices. I will be back for their body wrap service soon

I moved a little outside the area so I had cancelled my membership. I moved back to Tarzana and renewed my services with Body Bakery and I remembered why I like them so much in the first place. The salon is clean, the staff is efficient and their hours are awesome. They recommend good products and always have the customer’s best interest in mind. Good deals on lotions and tanning packages. BEST in the area.

Place was clean, Courtney at the front was super nice and helpful. The woman doing my airbrush tan was also really nice. Airbrush tan experience was comfortable, but my hands and feet are very very orange and blotchy. I followed all the pre tan and post tan instructions. It is veryyyyy noticeable and several friends had commented. I am on day 5 and the tan is still there which is great! But, I have to give 3 stars though because unfortunately I would not go back for another airbrush tan nor recommend my friends come here for airbrush tans. I hate to write negative reviews but also want to write an actual review of my experience.

The best tanning salon in the Valley! I’ve been coming here for the last 3 months already, they have everything, great customer service, tons of options regarding the time and money u want to spend here, lots of lotions at an affordable and great price and everything just makes you feel so comfortable and relaxing once you get there, it’s just an amazing spot! Great Place to get tan with affordable prices. Every time I come in for a tan I am attended to right away, and my tanning bed is always ready to go. My experience here is always efficient and great. The staff is very nice and friendly. Make sure you come down to get one of the best spray tans in Los Angeles. Also happy hour prices every day starting at 9:30 p.m.

I have to admit after I got my spray tan I was getting nervous seeing how dark my body was getting throughout the day. The lady who sprayed me told me this was going to happen and once I took a shower I would be much lighter. I washed it off 5 hours later and I had a nice even bronze tan that lasted about 3 – 4 days while I was camping at Coachella. I read some negative comments about how people slept in the tan and took a shower in the morning and they didn’t like the results. I would recommend keeping it on before showering for only 5 or 6 hours. You will love the results like I did!

The staff is friendly and upbeat (even when we came in RIGHT before closing time! (last tan @ 10:45) The salon has a beautiful Feng shui vibe, with exotic plants scattered throughout the salon. Salon is Very neat and tidy, and free water is available in the lobby. Very large selection of lotions! I purchased a level 3 bed, & I will definitely be returning to try out the red light therapy!

Vivian’s warm personality is so refreshing! I’m always greeted with a smile. She’s always been extremely helpful, personable and professional. If you have questions, she has answers! The salon is great too. Always a clean and cozy tanning experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great tanning package at a legitimate price! They also offer other services like Red Light Therapy, Body Wraps, and a Hydration Station! Such a cool place!

My absolute favorite place to tan in the valley. The employees are very sweet, knowledgeable, and organized. The price point is great, especially when you purchase one of the tanning bed packages. Parking is never an issue, the place is extremely clean, and the beds are all maintained very well.

If you look at my account, I RARELY post bad reviews unless it is really deserved. I also give great reviews to those who deserve it. This negative review is not just me, being mad. It is a dishonest, disgusting way to treat someone whose been a client for many years.
I bought a Lifebooker deal on the Lifebooker website which I have done numerous times before. When they called me to confirm my appointment and I told them I had bought another Lifebooker, they said they changed their policies and now they only allow Lifebooker if it’s the first time. NO WHERE on the website does it say this and they have been accepting my vouchers for months! I asked Vivian if she could honor it for me this last time since I already purchased it without knowing and she said no. I have been a good client to Body Bakery and I ALWAYS LEAVE A GENEROUS TIP FOR SERVICE and was even going to sign up for a monthly tanning membership but now I will never visit the tanning salon again! Please also look at my photos that NO WHERE DOES IT STATE that you can only use the voucher as a first time customer. It’s really not about the money that I lost. It is about the way Vivian treated me over the phone and didn’t even care to honor my purchase. Def. learned my lesson with these horrible people. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Absolutely the best place for a spray tan. I’m a Brazilian model and found this place on Groupon a few years ago. Vivian did my tan and I was amazed how long it lasted and how friendly she is. I’m so happy I found her I still come here all the way from Hollywood in LA traffic just to get my tan done. And I hate traffic so that should make it clear enough how great she is:) for everybody that never got an airbrush because you don’t want to be naked in front of a stranger this is the place to go to Vivian makes you feel so comfortable that u don’t even feel naked anymore besides her performing the best service she is a wonderful person. To be honest I don’t understand what people were doing when they leave a bad review and that they had yellow stripes or it faded ect. I never had the problem.
You have to prepare your skin at home, take a shower, shave and possibly do a scrub so your skin is fresh then don’t put regular lotion on your skin as it can affect the tan I purchased a gel at their salon that is especially for spray tanning and it will make your tan last longer and eliminate the tanning smell I forgot the name of the product but they will help you find it:)

Vivian is so nice, patient, and great at what she does! I took advantage of a Groupon and decided to get my first custom airbrush tan two weeks ago, a day before an important event.
I started with light olive skin and I’ve heard that you never want to go too dark. She told me she was going to mix my perfect color and assured me that it would look like I just came back from vacation.
I liked the idea and I trusted her. The process is simple enough. But then…
The shade of bronze was much, much darker than expected. I had to buy a darker foundation an hour before the event. After the first two days, the bronze had already faded off my face completely.
I wish the entire color had faded off my body because my thighs and chest have streaks like zebras… and its BEEN 2 WEEKS!
Can someone explain whats happening?

I have been to so many tanning salons, but I think I found my winner.
The girls are kind and professional without being stoic or pushy about up selling, which would turn me off immediately if they had been.
Sophie is a doll and Vivian makes you feel very comfortable even though your more than naked.
Try it I’m sure you will be incredibly happy!

I have been coming to The Body Bakery for a while now. Every time I come in the salon is spotless and the girls are always super sweet and friendly. I have tried other tanning salons around but nothing nothing compares to this salons prices and services. They offer tanning, spray tan booth and airbrush, body wrap, led lightwave for the face and teeth whitening. Honestly I have tried all their services and have been really happy with the results. The body wrap is really good but be prepared to sweat for almost an hour.
If you love outstanding customer service and excellent prices you need to give this place a try.

They have a really great variety of tanning beds. The staff is really nice and very knowledgeable about all of their products. And hey… They even have a happy hour!!! 9:45 pm to 10:45 every night and Sunday all day! My roommate and I both joined! You should stop in! Lots of great products besides the tanning beds!

I just moved into the area a couple of years ago and started to use this place. I am an old timer when it comes to tanning salons. When I joined «The Body Bakery Tanning & Spa» it was a clean start for me. I didn’t know anyone. I actually was a little nervous. All new faces. One face that stands out in my mind is «Vivian», I never met her before I walked into the location and right away she made me feel that I belonged. Now I feel like I know her for years. She’s very professional, really nice, easy to talk to, fixes problems, always accommodating and answers all my questions. All around good employee. Actually, all the staff is the same way. I never had any problems and there is always parking and a tanning bed available. I have to say I’m very picky, especially with tanning salons but this one is the best one yet! Supportive atmosphere and you feel like your at home.

Where do I begin?! I have been going to the Body Bakery for several years now and I absolutely love it. The staff is so friendly and I’m always greeted with a smile. The staff is also ready to answer any and all questions. I usually don’t have to wait for a room, but if I do then they are very apologetic for the wait and go out of their way to let me know how much longer it will be. The rooms are always clean and well taken care of. I love using the tanning beds and the hydration station. As a mother of 2 I feel like it is my quick trip to the spa. I have tried many tanning salons throughout the years and this one is by far the best! I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you Body Bakery for everything!

I absolutely love this place, Vivian gave me a tour of the salon and explained all the package. My skin is extremely sensitive after having my baby (I’m Hispanic) and she knew exactly what I needed and what level wouldn’t irritated my skin. As a working mother I would come here, I come on my lunch break, I’m out in 10 minutes max and it doesn’t take time away from home.

Was weird I paid for the service before I even went back there… Then was asked to give a tip before? Never hear do that.
When I got back there the girl who did my airbrush tan was very nice. Personable etc.
After my tan was complete they had me stand in front of a box fan for 5 minutes… Weird. But okay when I got home I was noticing very very dark brown spot everywhere when I called. She said its normal it would all wash off in the am!!! Lmfao!! no it didn’t and I had to leave for vacation!
Now I look like I have leprosy!!! Or something I left on vacation to Vegas wearing pants and long sleeves all weekend!
I will never ever ever go back there!

It was my first time going here last night. I got a custom airbrush tan.
I am very familiar with custom airbrush tans, as I used to work a tanning salon at one point and did this for passed clients as well. So i know what’s good and what’s not.
That being said, I woke up this morning, showered and absolutely love my color.
Vivian was the person who did my custom air brush tan, and I must say, she did an amazing job! First I told her wanted to be medium dark, not medium and not dark, so she mixed the solution to my needs… She knew exactly what she was doing and was on point with everything. She took her time, was efficient and so friendly.
I purchased a 3-​pack custom air brush package and I am going to make sure I make my next 2 appt.‘s with her. She is the best! Thanks Body Bakery for having awesome staff who know what they are doing and great prices too!
I am not sure who the other people, that left reviews, dealt with, but I had an awesome experience. I am definitely a satisfied and returning customer :)

If you are seriously looking for a tanning salon, then you must read this:
I don’t understand why anyone would give Body Bakery a bad review. This is the best tanning spa in the greater LA area. Trust me, I’ve been to them all from West LA, Hollywood, N. Hollywood and many others in the San Fernando Valley area.
I remember the first day I went to the Body Bakery. The staff was so nice and warm and very knowledgable. Just by looking at my complexion and understanding what my goals were, they knew what the type of booth and number minutes that were best for me.
But the best part was when I went there the second time, almost four weeks later and Vivian remembered my name! Do you know how much compassion and care for your clients you must have to remember them almost four weeks after you met?! That is exemplary of the kind of service you receive at the Body Bakery.
If you are looking for a tanning salon for life, then the Body Bakery is for you!
By the way, I know some people are suspect of Unilocal reviews. Look at my review history and you can tell that I am the type of guy that will only write reviews when I am super displeased (almost offended) or super stoked about a company. I am super stoked about Body Bakery!!!

I had such hopes for this place after reading other reviews. Sadly, the place is not only dated with «old» equipment (at least it looks old), but the desired level of professionalism is missing too.
I scheduled an airbrush tan about a week ago for noon today. Yesterday when I inquired about an earlier appointment, I was told I was the «the first appointment of the day».
I show up at noon and, as I stand there waiting, they take another person back for a spray tan. All good, I thought, because she must be getting a tan in one of the automatic booths.
15 minutes pass and nobody says shiz to me about running late or anything. So when the spray tan gal finally comes out, I asked her why I was told I was the first appointment for the day but I’m still, after 20 minutes, waiting. «Oh, well she showed up really early…» (And yet she was taken back, ahead of me, AFTER I showed up, while I’m standing right there.)
Would’ve been one thing for them to ask me if I could wait an extra 20 – 30 minutes, but they didn’t. They didn’t even apologize for the delay. They just put someone ahead of me with no thought or regard to my schedule. Rude. Unprofessional. But a good reflection on their customer service attitude (which is basically «you’re not that important»).
This would have been my second airbrush tan. I was really eager to see if they could do better than the first. Be warned… there are airbrush tans and there are airbrush artists. I did not get an artist for my first tan. In fact, when I asked the gal the first time to give me some ab shadowing (yes, I’m that shallow), she said «Oh, I can’t because this airbrush isn’t that fine.» The orange tint also wasn’t my favorite (sadly she told me that was her own mix of colors). #fail
With all the options for spray tans, why subject yourself to rude service and sub-​par results?! Stupid me buying a five-​tan package! FML!
