Gava D’s BBQ

I wished I had booked Gava for my wedding too! But happy to have booked him for my husbands Luau party! Guests were beyond impressed with his mouth watering meats and there beans were exceptional! Thank you Elliot for coming through! I will not hesitate to book Gava for any upcoming events!

Beyond pleased!!! We hired Gava D’s to do our wedding in December. We had the moink balls and the stuffed jalapeños for appetizers and the chicken and tri-​tip along with beans and the zesty slaw. All of it was wonderful!!! Our guests were more than impressed and several have talked to me about hiring them for their next event.

We had Gava D’s cater a BBQ for over 80 people and everyone loved it! We had the tri tip, chicken, beans, cole slaw, rolls and the peach cobbler dessert. It was the first time I had organized such a large event. Eliott was professional and patient each step of the way. His communication was excellent though I had to keep increasing the amount of guests! We had plenty of food and lots of people had seconds of everything. We loved them and would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Wow! Impressive! I’ve had barbeque from all over the country, Texas, Memphis, etc. This guy is the real deal. Outstanding food. He catered a wedding which I recently attended in the wine country area of Temecula. Everything he served, chicken, tri-​tip, brisket, beans, potatoes and coleslaw was absolutely outstanding. The food was delicious. Cut and served properly. Great smoky flavor and very tender. He’s a friendly and personable guy as well. I went over to him to compliment his food and grabbed a card so that I could give this review and hire him myself sometime. Even the beans and potatoes were better than any I’ve ever had. I don’t know what he puts in them and I guess it doesn’t matter. They’re great. If you’re looking for a caterer, you can’t go wrong with Gava D’s.

I am very happy that I decided to book gava d’s bbq for our wedding this November. I love that it is a family owned business and they are wonderful people to work with. The food was super yummy and I heard nothing but good remarks about it. Very professional and delicious food!

We had the pleasure of having Gava D’s cater a buffet style format for our wedding last weekend and they went above and beyond for us! We heard nothing but great reviews from all of our guests! The tri tip and chicken absolutely melts in your mouth. I am a big mac and cheese guy and it was great! I cannot thank them enough for being such a large part of a great day!

Love Gava D’s! Elliot catered our wedding this past June, and it was a hit! We did the pulled chicken, tri tip, the yummy slaw, and dinner rolls. He has his homemade bbq sause which my husband loved, I like a sweeter sause so elliot was kind enough to ask his friend for his homemade sause. Ah! Amazing! I cannot wait to have him out for a family bbq. He is totally flexible from small backyard parties or a big event like my 150+ guest wedding.

There’s only one draw back from eating gava D’s BBQ. You’ll never be satisfied from eating BBQ anywhere else. I Seriously crave it constantly! Can’t wait until they have a store front one day or maybe a food truck… The chicken is my favorite and the Bean’s are one of a kind. Worth every penny!

I had the pleasure of eating a mouth-​watering pulled pork sandwich from this little hidden catering truck of a gem on Tuesday of this week, after Gava was playfully pressured into doing a giveaway on Merchant Monday, which is an advertising/​giveaway/​promotional chunk of time given to local business owners on Facebook’s Temecula Talk group page.
This man’s bbq is the real deal, and you can smell it for nearly a mile either way on Jefferson Ave.
It was served in a build-​your-​own sandwich style with a side of crisp, slightly spicy cole slaw, hearty beans, and two fresh Hawaiian rolls.
I highly recommend giving Gava D’s BBQ a try! You will NOT be disappointed, I bet my next born child on it!

We attended a 5 day birthday party in Temecula and provided the dinner one of the nights. Coming from Boston, we needed someone dependable, easy to work with and who would, of course, provide delicious food! Well, we found it with Elliott, owner of Gava D’s. He went over the menu on the phone, helped us make the choices and showed up with a delicious BBQ dinner for the birthday crew! Everyone LOVED the food… it was DELICIOUS! We only wish we would be going back to Temecula again soon for more of Gava D’s BBQ! Thanks for making the party a success, Elliott!

I wish i could give them more stars! We had Gava D’s cater our wedding in May and we could not have been any happier. We decided to take a risk and go with them based on Unilocal reviews alone and we were not disappointed. We were honestly expecting (and hoping for) leftovers and we had NONE! Everyone loved the food and went back for seconds… some people went back for thirds. We had so many people come up to us and tell us how amazing the food was. We had the pulled chicken, the brisket, coleslaw, beans and mac-​n-​cheese and it was ALL fantastic. I wish they had a restaurant because I would make the two hour drive from Long Beach any day. Thank you guys so much for making our wedding food so delicious and memorable.

I hired Gava D’s BBQ last weekend to cater a birthday party for 100 guests. I was absolutely thrilled with their service and barbecue food. Elliott was easy to work with and very dependable. He and his «better half», Tricia, arrived when they said they would arrive and the food was ready at the time I specified— not any earlier or later.
Now, this is what we served:
Appetizers; «moink» balls and cornbread stuffed jalapeños.
Main course: Pulled pork, bbq chicken, tri-​tip, mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw.
Folks could not get enough of the «moink balls» (bacon wrapped around ground sirloin simmered in a tangy bbq sauce.) The jalapeños were a good combination of spicy and cornbread-​sweet.
The main course meats and sides were fantastic! The pulled pork was my favorite — very smokey and melt-​in-​your-​mouth. The barbecue chicken and tri-​tip were flavorful and moist. The baked beans were sweet but also had some kind of spice in them. Yum! The mac and cheese was home-​made with various kinds of cheese and was a real treat.
After dinner was served, they quietly cleaned up and packed up the leftovers for us. (There was not much left!)
We have gotten a lot of compliments on the food. If you are looking for someone to cater barbecue for your party, then I would absolutely recommend Gava D’s

Gava D’s BBQ was the best choice for our wedding! Besides the great set up they bring to the event their food is AMAZING! We had dozens of compliments from all our guests on how delicious the food was!

This review is for my experience with Elliot and Gava D’s in getting a quote for a wedding catering job. Elliot was super friendly on the phone and seemed like a really nice guy who was passionate about BBQ. We ultimately ended up choosing a different caterer (only because of a personal reference), but I wanted to say that Elliot was very professional and would be a great person to contact for future catering needs.

Very friendly service even while working in extreme heat! The food is homemade and everything tasted to perfection!

Gava D’s gave me a case of «The Shits!» Not that kind! sicko! Everytime i took a bite of this damn good BBQ… I had to say «THAT’S THE SHIT!» «THAT’S THE SHIT!» So ya, hire him and you will not be sorry… this is incredible stuff! Highly recommended!!!

Elliot and his wife catered my wedding! .I met elliot for a tasting with my fiancé and our daughter. He has a son too and he played with my daughter the whole time! such a good kid. Anyways… His house smelled So good and before I even tasted the food, after talking with him I knew he was the right guy for the job. He really truly loves what he does, hes very passionate and loves seeing the reaction people get when they try his food because it is really really REALLY good! His son is even following in his footsteps and barbecues too! He was also at our wedding and just played with my daughter and the other kids the whole time. It worked out perfectly.
The food was literally the best barbecue I have ever had. I had the moink balls (which I never even got to try because they were gone so fast!) and Jalapeño poppers (so yummy). Tri tip, chicken, pulled pork. slaw, mac and cheese and a salad with a vinaigrette. For dessert we had the drunken pineapple. They were on time, served up everything perfectly and their prices are reasonable too. We had 100 guests and they did it all no problem.
During and after dinner and even after the wedding days later I had people telling me how great the food was! Nothing is better than knowing your guests are happy.
We had leftovers and the next day we ate them again since we had family still in town and my husbands dad kept repeating himself that the mac and cheese is award winning :).

Hired Elliot to cater a promotional party for me and about 50 guests. He was one of three bbq caterers in the area that I contacted and I’m glad I went with him! Even better, our party was somewhat last minute and he was able to pull it off in about a weeks notice. We had him serve tri-​tip, pulled chicken, STL ribs, beans, slaw, and Mac and cheese. All my guests were raving about the food! And there was tons of food! We even had plenty of leftovers that lasted a few more days! Sooooo good! The biggest hit were the ribs! He really made our event a lot less stressful. I’m very glad I found him and highly recommend him for any of your catering needs! Thanks again Elliot! –joe
