History
Established in 1636.
The National Guard is the oldest branch of the military service. We are referred to as citizen soldiers based on our part –time military service. We have served the states during national disasters as well as our nations foreign wars fighting alongside our active duty counterparts. We are more than just a one weekend a month force.
