I will never eat here again. I love mexican food, but this place was disgusting. The cheese enchilada was rubbery, the chichen was very dry and tasteless. The lady behind the counter said it would cost $ 6 extra to make my kids meal taco into a Carne Asada taco. I tried to order a a 2 taco plate Carne Asada with rice and beans, and the lady ran off 3 different scenarios of how to order that, and it was very confusing. It reminded me of gross cafeteria food, and it was expensive. Nasty.

Chips n’ salsa… Hmmm. So where is it? It’s probably not part of everyone’s dining here. I think it’s best behind the prep area as décor. My enchiladas and tortillas were fresh though. Not the best I’ve tasted but slightly better than average. The servings were big enough to fill you up. I’m sure the prep people are doing their best. seems like they’re taking their time though. I once asked a prepper to kindly have my takeout order ready before I go and it seems like they don’t have their act together quite yet. For a small order, they were not sure why the order was not in their system. But it was done and processed. I handed them their printout. It took 2 people to slowly pack it up. Slow day? And. the one handing it to me stared like they don’t want me to come back. I like the colorful ambiance though. It’s eclectic latino for sure. Despite my less than favorable experience, I’d like to make mention that had it not been for the warm, smart, polite attitude that one of the order-takers afforded me, I would’ve probably thought that their crew lacks motivation and training. That guy saved the day. He deserves to be manager. I still think this establishment holds promise. But they need to add more zest and flavor in their food and their service.

I’m surprised with as long as I’ve been coming here, I haven’t rated this place yet. I love coming here for their Taco Tuesday special 3 tacos, rice, beans and 2 tortillas for $ 4.39. I have had their fajitas which are good and the steak quesadilla which is to die for! The hot salsa is really good and my husband loves the fact that they use real red chile. Great meal for a great price!

Basic Mexican food. It’s fast food done pretty well. It’s cool to see them make tortillas in their tortilla factory. The rest of the ingredients are quick made fast food. They do a good job getting the order right but are t so quick with substitutions. Overall chicken fajitas platter was good but cold and not very spicy.

Best beef fajitas! I was not a fajitas fan until I went to Rosa’s Café! The beef fajitas just melt in your mouth. I like to order the original beef fajitas combination plate. It comes with rice, beans, guacamole, salsa and tortillas. It is enough food to share. I also like to order the sopapillas with honey! So yummy!

I love Mexican food. This place is wonderful! The food is tasty and hot. There’s a great variety. I love the salsa bar, and endless chips. That’s my weakness: chips and salsa. mmmmmm The décor and ambiance is wonderful. It gets a bit noisy on the busier days, but when you’re crunching on your chips, you don’t even notice. Everything I’ve eaten here as been wonderful so far. Get there!

UPDATE: My experience tonight was less than satisfactory. It saddens me to write this review because we have patronized this business many times with nothing but the best customer service and awesome food. Until this evening of May 23rd. A woman by the name of Gretchen handed us our food at the drive thru. As usual I take a moment to make sure everything we ordered is in the bag. I didn’t see the queso dip in the chip bag. So I told her we were missing it and she rudely states it’s in the bag then looks away and ignores me. I tell her again, and she states that it’s in the paper bag all the way at the bottom. I say, «oh, I got it!» And she rudely looks away again. Okay, fine. I get it. It’s 30 minutes before closing and you’re over it. So I make it all the way home, mind you I live in Murrieta. We unpack everything and realized our 3 dinner plates did not come with tortillas. Normally, I wouldn’t care. But my mom ordered a beef fajita plate. Who eats fajitas without tortillas? So I call the restaurant to let them know what happened and the same rude, incompetent woman insists she put it in the bag. I tell her no, you didn’t. I don’t understand why she kept arguing with me. Why would I lie about some tortillas? Why would I drive from Murrieta ALL the way back to Temecula for extra tortillas? It’s ridiculous. Unless there’s some secret passage in the bag she thought she would safely hide it in. Then, my bad. She could have easily apologized for the inconvenience and offered me some sort of incentive for my next visit instead she told me to come ask for the manager and she’ll give me my 10 tortillas. Oh, guess what? She says she’s the manager. This woman is clearly messing with me. So an exciting Rosa’s dinner become a cold, sad soggy mess by the time I make it back home to eat. I’ll be contacting the owner tomorrow morning. I am extremely upset about this and really hope the owners take care of this matter before they really start to lose business. One more experience like this, I’ll be pointing family/friends another way.

Not the worst food ever, just so boring it’s far from great. I’m always suspicious of the truthiness of reviews that go overboard with the description«worst» anything, unless 80% say the same and the health dept. needs to shut it down then yeah, maybe THAT would be the worst. I can’t believe some of the reviews I just now read after getting back home from eating dinner here. «Huge portions?» Seriously? The bean and cheese burrito was tiny and had I known that’s how they can sell it for $ 1.39 I would have ordered two. Huge portion it is not. I also had a tamale which was also smaller than any other tamale I have ever had. I did get a soft chicken taco which was a nice size, but much of the bulk was shredded lettuce which was nearly ice cold. When you take warm shredded chicken meat, add cold lettuce and cold cheese it make a taco that’s not even warm really. Flavor is pretty bland overall. I think the lure of this place, even with some skimpy food items is you can leave without having to take out a small loan to feed a family. The blandness is a sign of corporate, chain restaurant dining where they don’t want to challenge the patrons but give them familiar, Americanized, non threatening food. This is how«Meh» happens. A factory approach to cooking is death to good tasting food. It’s definitely not the worst I’ve had but there was nothing super delicious. Freshly made tortillas did help and some of the better salsa in the bar did perk up the meal.

Been coming to Rosa’s for a long time. They have good food but it looks like they’re starting to go downhill on their cleanliness. The trays they serve you food on are disgusting. The soda machine where you get your drinks with ice often tastes like mildew. They need to clean these things once in a while. Major cleanliness issues here. Sure hope someone in management does something. We told them and showed them the trays.

OK, for what it was, if you like non traditional — traditional mexican food. The tortillas were fresh and tasty, everything else kind of tasted like every other fast food mexican place I have ever been. Nothing really special to stand out from the crowd, not to say the food wasn’t OK, it was, although I did get indegestion from eatting there.

Absolutely not a authentic Mexican food restaurant. This is a American– Mexican. When I went to place my order the guy had an attitude. I mentioned that we had never been here before. There was no reaction or recommendations. Poor customer service. The food by no means was close to being good old fashion«homemade» Mexican food. The fajitas beef taco plate was not good and the beans and rice tasted like they were from a can. Don’t bother with the chips they were stale. I would not recommend this place. Oh and the parking was a pain as well. The restrooms were not clean either.

Really good spot to eat some decent Mexican food. It is sort of a hybrid of sorts. You order in a line and then site at nice table surrounded by nice Mexican décor. Once your number is called and shows up on a screen, you pick up and enjoy. They have a good sized salsa bar and drink selection. The food was good to real good and the price out the door for 2 adults and 2 kids was under $ 25… Not bad at all.

Parking = Meh Service = Meh Food = Meh I don’t know what happened this day but the parking lot was terrible. Cars even parked in the grass field behind the resturant. The guy that took the order, never cracked a smile. Maybe he was having a bad day, I sensed a little attitude. When they called my number, I stood there at counter and waited a little due to the many meals waiting to be picked up. When someone finally asked«what’s your number?», she just pointed and walked away. Mind you, this is the first time I come here, so I’m not familiar with the drill here. Finally the food, what can I say — not much. The food was just ok, palatable. The only good thing was how fast our food was ready. It was ready before we even chose and found what table we going to eat at. On second thought, this may not be a good thing either. So if you want fast«American-Mexican» food, with«meh» customer service, this is the place for you. P. S. Did you notice I said«American-Mexican» food? That’s right, this place does even qualify as Mexican — American where you might taste a little love in the food. Sorry, but no love here.

Great place to stop by when, reasonably priced, tasty, and loved the fresh hot tortillas off the press. The taco/burritos here are very simple and no-frills — not a whole lot of seasoning, but they have an entire bar of all sorts of salsas, cilantro, chopped onion, jalapeño, to spice things up and mix it all in. And it is indeed very tasty with all that self-customized seasoned once it’s in. Fairly certain the addictive beans and rice are cooked with lard given its oh-so-deliciously-tasty aroma, but hey, since that’s the way they cooked food when I was down in Mexico, totally cool with that being the way it’s served. Did I mention the warm, steamy tortillas? Hungry Kat, approved.

They just efffed up my day and put me in a bad mood. I’m a serious foodie and was looking forward to getting my grub on some cheap, delicious Americanized Mexican food. But I won’t be coming back. They just lost my business straight up. The lady taking my order was SO rude. I wanted to order the Deluxe Mexican Plate(the same thing I order EVERYTIME I come here), and I was told that I couldn’t make any substitutions to make it vegetarian friendly like I wanted. I’m so pissed. I seriously loved this hidden gem, but I’m done with it. I won’t tolerate rude service. I think it’s just pure laziness and that’s why they won’t let you order it how you want. Ridiculous. Horrible service. What a joke, I’ll take my business elsewhere and order my meal how I want thank you very much. I don’t need ATTITUDE and sighing on the other end when servers are taking my order. This place is basically a fast food joint posing as a real restaurant with horrible service. Do yourself a favor and go to Rosas Cantina down the street– that is a real restaurant with the option to order your food the way you like it(vegetarian, free from ingredients that you are allergic to, etc.) and you won’t get any jerks being lazy POS’s!!!

Super soft and flavorful chicken and meat! Guac is too heavy on the cilantro for me. Nachos are small and covered in jalapenos and a velveeta like cheese which i dont like and no guac. Fajita dinner ok but dont like their tortillas very much but fun to watch being made. Nice atmosphere when its not busy but it usually is busy. No breakfast burritos which was a letdown. Thought it was a sit down not fast food but I like the real cutlery and plates.

I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. I don’t care if I’m giving points for nostalgia. This place is freaking heaven on earth; it is home to me. This place is TEXAS, specifically WESTTEXASANDITDESERVES A TEXAS-SIZEDRATING(yes, i’m over-the-top). During a conversation on my university’s alumni association facebook page about missing Texas food, someone posted that a branch of THE Rosa’s café was located in Temecula. No one believed it: 1) there are millions of restaurants named Rosa’s, and 2) why would Rosa’s open a branch in Temecula? Is there a large Texas population in Temecula? If that were the case, why no branch in Bakersfield near the oil fields? It was through a search on the Rosa’s website that we found that, yes, this was legitimately Rosa’s. Yes, Rosa’s is «Mexican» food, but it’s really Tex-Mex. Is there really a difference? Well… if you think about the history of Texas, you can see how the wonderful mix of cultures combined to form Tex-Mex cuisine. Ever heard of Six Flags? Ever wonder where the name came from? Well the original«Six Flags» is actually in Texas and named after the six nations whose flags have flown over Texas. For example, that queso you think is just melted nacho cheese has its foundation on a French Mornay sauce. Also ever heard of that music festival, South By Southwest? It’s because Texas really is the bridge between the deep South and the Southwest; and the food is a great reflection of this. Sorry, I could write a book on this topic… let me get to the point. The food tastes just as it did when I last had it in Lubbock Texas back in 2002. The décor is the same, the salsa bar is shaped the same, the freaking chairs are the same; it’s awesome. Get the sour cream chicken enchiladas, famously known as «#55»(just called the chicken enchiladas here)… it’s life-changing. Also, get the fajitas; that is very specific to TexMex. Also, notice the difference in chips and tortillas: the Rosa’s Tex Mex style tortillas are thicker than what you see at California taco shops while the chips are much thinner. For dessert, get the Sopapillas. I’m ecstatic to have found a piece of my young adulthood in California; I would have never expected it be in Temecula(side note, Temecula also has a freebirds!). I’m so glad that the food tastes exactly the same. I’m not a hipster; I want this place to get big; I want them to expand far and wide. Yes, much of this review is nostalgia, but you have to understand that as I type this, a Texas-shaped tear rolls down my face. ps. they have DDP as a fountain drink!!! Texans know what I’m talking about.

I’ve tried this place 3 different times now and I’m just not feeling it… the taco Tuesday special is a great value I think based on what you get, but the chicken tacos are soo dry and flavorless! Even after dumping an endless amount of salsa on them, it still doesn’t help! The beans and rice are pretty good and my wife and I both LOVE their fresh tortillas… but that’s pretty much it. I mayyy come back and try the beef tacos instead… when that’ll be, I have no idea.
