I am from a much larger city such as Houston and in comparison this place is old and rotten looking… the quality of the fish is subpar the quality of the hibachi is not the great… I will drive the distance to Austin for quality raw products… it is a shame this is one of the only places here in temple for sushi I think that Robert Irvin from Food network needs to come save these people, thankfully temple is growing and hopefully a Kona Grill comes in soon…

To Daniel, I have been a long-time customer and have brought the pharmaceutical business your way as you know. This may all change as a result of our experience on January 21, 2016. The food quality and preparation was the worst I’ve ever experienced at this location. The roll I ordered was clumsily put together with way too much rice and too big. The fish did not taste fresh. The yaki Niku beef was bland and tasted old. The teriyaki chicken was practically inedible. I was not the only one who was unhappy with the food that day as everyone in a group had one complaint or another. I heard that some of the fried items were undercooked. The rep who was there(for the first time ever) did not enjoy one bite– a terrible way to make a first impression. To boot, I saw the health inspection grade of 86 you received and that turned me off even more but it is totally understandable with the poor quality of food we were served that day. I have always enjoyed working with you and you have always been most accommodating but we were very disappointed in our experience and won’t be coming back until things are drastically changed.

Great food. Quiet atmosphere. Order the shaggy dog sushi or Yaki soba. Can eat very cheap if you choose wisely. Great for business meetings. Nearby O’briens or Green door for entertainment after.

The food has been very good the two times we’ve been here this past week but the service is «eh». The place has been mostly empty, even on a Saturday night. The sushi was excellent, the prices are good. I got a bento box for lunch on a weekday and it was good, even if the chicken was a little over cooked, the flavor was awesome. The salmon was excellent and the fried rice is very good.

My ultimate happy place!!! We have been coming here for 2 – 3 years, and their food is consistently delicious! So much flavor and cooked just right! We love to go at lunch time and sit at the hibachi grill. You get a show and the food is prepared fresh while you watch! We always have leftovers for later. Make sure to get the fried rice for an extra 2.00, it is amazing! I love that we almost always get our favorite waitress. She takes such good care of us and it’s so nice to always see her familiar face when we walk in!

Oh Nami, I had way higher expectations. We came here for a friends birthday with a party of ten. It’s a typical hibachi set up, but the restaurant itself is very run down, nothing special and needs some serious touch up. The night started out normal, we got our drink orders in and got our food order in. The chef was great, other than that it was horrible. The worst service I’ve probably ever experienced at a restaurant. We never got re fills, never checked up on it was horrible. I don’t think I’ll ever return here, and do not suggest this place to anyone. We spoke with management and hopefully this gets resolved.

Wow!!! I’ve heard so many people rave about this place so when I finally came around to try it I was pretty excited because I really enjoy these types of restaurants. We went on a Friday night at 730 with a group of 13 and the Hibachi table only held 10 so we just got a regular table. I’m pretty sure the hour and a half or so we were there we were practically the only people in the restaurant, I think I only saw 2 other tables with guest. It felt like their air conditioner was broke or just turned off due to the lack of guest. Several people in our party asked the waitress if they could do something about the A/C multiple times because we were sweating just sitting there. As soon as we were done eating we paid our tab we were ready to leave because it was so miserably hot, you shouldnt be paying these kind of prices for food and suffering in that type of environment. As far as the food went that was such a joke it was unreal. I usually devour the salads and soups at these places and I barley ate any of either. I got steak and shrimp it tasted like something you would get at Chilis if not worse. When I looked at the fried rice I thought it was white rice it seemed like there was no egg in it and it was the worst fried rice ive ever had. We had a monster roll that was good but that was about it. I wont ever eat at a regular table here again. I hear the Belton location is better and I hear the hibachi is better so one day I’m sure I’ll give it a chance but I’m not holding my breath.

I love namis. Sometime times the waitresses can be a little slow, however I love sitting at the hibachi grill. They put on a really good show and always seem super nice. I very much enjoy the food

Was not happy with the server — very pressing with getting the order and cold. The sushi was mediocre at best. Don’t order anything with cream cheese, way overpowering and couldn’t taste anything else. Disappointing — wish it was better. Plus she didn’t get the order right…

Let me start by saying the service here is absolutely THEWORST! Our waitress was at our table maybe 2 times through the whole dinner. We were seated for 30min before someone even got our drink orders. Then the waitress couldn’t remember what we had asked for(there was only 4 of us) and brought us the wrong drinks. Insisting that we just drink it(pay for it as well) and she would bring the RIGHT drinks afterwards! Not only did she bring the wrong drinks. She SPILLED one of them all over the table! And was not apologetic ATALL! She just rudely told us to move to another table, and never cleaned up the mess! I just couldn’t believe it. So we FINALLY got our steaks.(all asked for medium cooked steaks) NONE of them were cooked properly! They were either bleeding or completely black! So not only was the service awful, the food was just as bad. I’d say that was a HUGE waste of $ 150 I will not be back to this place! Hope this was helpful. If you are looking for a good sushi, habachi grill or steakhouse. I recommend Seoul Garden, or go to the Belton Nami’s. Or if you are just looking for a nice, delicious place to dine. I highly recommend Pignettit’s across the street from this place!

I enjoyed my date here with the boyfriend. We both had sushi — it came out just okay. It wasn’t «amazing» though. I have been craving for sushi for months now and decided to order the princess roll… big mistake because that roll did not satisfy my cravings. My boyfriend’s Nami roll came out better. Customer service was good and the restaurant is a quiet place to enjoy your evenings at.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have a special on many of the sushi rolls and $ 2 off hot sake and $ 1 off beer. My friend and I ordered four sushi rolls(see pics), the refreshing mango taco, and a bottle of white peach sake. Everything was delicious. Our server was very attentive and patient. The atmosphere was intimate and cozy. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the central Texas area.

This place is pretty good considering its next to a military base… BUT… its not amazing. my peers say i have a very sensitive pallet and i’m very harsh with my criticisms but thats why i only go to the best places. PRO: servers are pretty nice. food comes out in within 15 min(habachi takes longer). prompt seating. habachi is decent enough to eat. clean. CON: not worth the money unless your really craving sushi and in the area. any seafood is not fresh(consider how far the nearest port is) i’m not looking for the best but i’ve been here occasionally and it just seems like the food quality just keeps degrading(except the habachi)

This was the perfect place for a date. Our chef was funny, knew how to entertain and cooked everything to perfection. I really like how this place was set up. It doesn’t look as big as it is from the outside but I found myself getting lost once inside.

When our local sushi place closed in Waco, TX, my wife and I were really sad.(yes, tears flowed.) The place that closed was the one passable sushi joint. We had tried all of the other sushi in town and were dismayed when HEB sushi ranked the top on our list. And, for those of you who are thinking, «They don’t know sushi. They are from central Texas.» I will have to stop you and say that I have had sushi all around this country and from the sushi mother-ship of Japan. A friend than suggested we try Nami’s. A quick web search and we pointed our car towards Temple. We usually go Monday evening so there is not a real crowd. Each time we visit, we are well taken care of and our bellies are full. Four stars because it is not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it is really delicious and super tasty.

i lived in Philippines, Japan and Hawaii for many years and trust me, i know whats bad or good fish. I am new here in Temple and I was so happy to able to find this place. I am very skeptical to eat a sashimi here in Texas, so I asked the waitress to find out whats«fresh» for today. So, Tuna it is. and WOW! the sashimi tuna was good! well compared to Hawaii fresh Tuna. Love it! we also ordered the vegetables tempura was good! and my friend ordered rolls which I am not fan of(she said it was ok). Price wise, I think is fare. Definitely will back again for tempura and sashimi.
