Yuck! What happened? My husband went out if his way to get me Pad Thai and came home with super gross soggy noodles with a horrible taste. This I ended up tossing it and making a sandwich. Time to find a new Thai restaurant with good gluten free options.

The short skinny: Good restaurant if you’re in the mood to try a new Thai place. — Homey atmosphere — Good Service — Good food — Reasonable prices We ordered our usual Thai fare: Pad Thai — pretty standard, not too sweet as is too often the case Shrimp Tom Yum Soup — a bit on the sweet side but with a nice after burner kick Yum Nua — Spicy Beef Salad — delicious with more tender beef than at other places Masman Curry — delicious with secret ingredient that owner shared with us after the meal,(Skippy Peanut Butter!) Tuked away in a corner of a strip mall off the interstate 93 Dascomb Road exit, this restaurant, pardon the butchered cliché is «a gem in the rough,»(not quite a diamond). If not for the fact that some huge companies were nearby, the location would be incongruous. The restaurant has a classy atmosphere with the usual plethora of Thai souvenirs and artwork. Shame that our dinner was accented with a loud local having a glass of red wine at the bar talking on his cell phone about everything from his recent divorce to business problems. Our dinner was complemented by the owner(a nice raconteur) who stopped by to introduce himself and explain a bit about his recipes, his life and philosophy. He also gave recommendations to try the next time.

Tuk Tuk’s offerings are quite delicious. I very much enjoyed the food I tried including the appetizer platter, Pad Thai, Green Curry and Cashew Chicken. The shrimp in a blanket was not very good in the appetizer platter but the other items were great. I love their peanut sauce — not too pasty and a great kick of heat. I rarely get worked up about poor service but this establishment earned itself a demerit due to very slow and inattentive service as well as incorrectly taking our wine order — twice. Sauvignon Blanc become Cabernet Sauvignon(easy mistake) but then we were given some other white wine(our best guess was a Chardonnay) but certainly not the Babich my wife ordered a glass of. We didn’t send it back. Unfortunate. I might swing by for lunch sometime for a ‘quick’ Pad Thai but only if I have a lot of time to kill. pass

Yuck, yuck, isn’t the only word that rhymes!!! Really lousy Thai food. I went w pad Thai and it was awful. bland, w clumps of noodles stuck together, the chicken was over cooked and the shrimp just didn’t taste right. After a few bites my $ 10 serving was tossed in the trash. I won’t go back.

This place has a strangely small seating capacity and it usually empty. Nicely decorated. The waitress was quite unfriendly and inattentive(minus 1 star) and that was awkward. The food, depending on what you order, is surprisingly good… considering its location. They have many nicer options than the familiar Thai ‘grease bomb’ dishes that are offered at other Thai restaurants. Its nice to have such a place that is local…

Good food. Not a fan of the pizza delivery layout but it doesnt change my opinion of the food. Normal sized portions which is a delight! Would recommend, have recommended. There is only one table large enough for more than 4. But i love that table!

This is our go-to spot for Thai food, not because we think it is the best place but because they have gluten free options and my wife has Celiac’s. The first time I ever went here we asked about it because we had seen an ad saying they had gluten free food and the owner actually went and grabbed the gluten free soy sauce to show me. It’s in a little strip mall and you can sit down and eat if you want, but it really has the ambiance of a take-out place more than anything. There’s a TV behind the bar, and someone must really like tennis because I think it has been on the tennis channel every time I’ve gone in(at least 15 – 20 times now). I would really love to give this place a 4-star review because it is obviously someplace we go to quite a bit and generally like. The reason I can’t though is that it isn’t very consistent. I’d say about 4 out of 5 times we go in we’re very happy with the food, but that 5th time can be quite a disappointment, I don’t know if it is that they have someone different preparing the food or what, but there was even one time that we didn’t finish our meals and threw out the rest because it was that bad. On a positive note though, this is one place where I’m able to get food as spicy as I want(which is typically very spicy). They are not afraid to put in a lot of spice if you ask for it, which is really nice. Our personal favorites are any of the noodle dishes(pad thai and pad kee mao in particular) and the summer rolls for an appetizer. I definitely recommend giving this place a shot, particularly if you can’t tolerate gluten as they actually use gluten free soy sauce and don’t just cut out the soy sauce(we’ve been to a couple of other thai restaurants that said they could make it gluten free by not using the soy sauce).

Surprisingly good find tucked into a little strip mall. But hey, plenty of parking! Very good, authentic Thai food from a guy who you can tell is in this for the love of good food. Sol(short for a much longer Thai name) is long on grin and loves a good tale — and clearly takes pride in his food. While a lot of their business is takeout, there are several tables within the nicely Thai-decorated room, and they serve beer and wine so its a good place to pop into for a nice, quick very good dinner. And lets face it — takeout is never quite as good as right out of the kitchen. Used to go to Sweet Basil in Andover, now we always go to Tuk-Tuk on the Tewksbury line. Best place around for Thai food.

This place is awesome. It’s right down the street from my house, so we order out fairly often. They serve authentic Thai food, good stuff with tons of veggies. I usually go for the Pad Kee Mao, a spicy dish with wide rice noodles and all sorts of things I can’t and don’t need to identify. It’s delicious and that’s all that matters. They also have a good selection of Asian beers and the owner, when he’s in, is the nicest guy who doesn’t shy away from telling some stories in a non-intrusive, warm and welcome way. Love this place.

A friend of mine was a regular and brought me here for the first time a few weeks ago. Its small and in a strip mall so it is very unassuming however, I will be back… alot. The curry puffs on the appetizers list was so good I could’ve eaten them all day long. They had a perfect balance of sweet/spicy/salty and a delicious sweet sauce to drizzleon it similiar to a rice syrup but more savory. My friend had never had them despite having gone there repeatedly for years and was equally impressed. We talked about them the whole ride home. The owner and staff are super nice bordering on too nice. They are very unintrusive so you have to get their attention at check time but if you want to sit their all day and have tea and relax they will absolutely let you! My main course was the peanut curry with tofu. It was overflowing with yummy veggies and tofu, it was delicious. I added a side of steamed noodles and was so full I didn’t even make a dent in my meal. I cannot wait to go back, that curry puff appetizer is the best new thing I have had this year I think :)

I come here whenever I’m back in Andover visiting mom. I live in Los Angeles, which has a TON of Thai places. I’ve even been to Thailand twice. And this place really measures up, especially considering it’s wedged in a small strip mall(although I thought that side of the street was Andover, not Tewksbury?). To be honest, the service was really lacking last time I went — extremely slow. I got the chicken with spicy chili sauce — good slab of chicken(not fried), rice and sauce. Dad got the pad see yew — pretty good. Friend got the chicken coconut soup, non spicy, and it was incredibly tasty. Unfortunately, the thai iced tea does NOT have crushed ice, but cubes. Yes, it makes a difference! :D

Simply awesome! The pad thai is perfect and the hot and sour soup is to die for. The owner is quite chatty but has all sorts of interesting stories to tell so make a point of coming in and sitting at the bar if you see a friendly, bigger, thai gentleman out and about!

Came recommended by a friend. Completely awesome. I have been there several times, different dishes, all very good. There is a seafood soup that is fantastic. I like the boar dish and they had a good drunken noodle. Do not ask for HOT unless you can handle hot. A friend asked for hot, he looked at her and noted how pale she was, probably took it easy on her, and she still lost feeling in her legs from the heat!(not literally) We go late, the place is usually empty, and the owner basically gives us personal service. He likes tennis if you want to start a conversation with him. Great service, just go at 7 or so pm. Note there are only enough seats for about 20 ppl.

This place is right near where I work now. I transferred to another facility and away from the good food unfortunately. :( Although this place isn’t big… and the service isn’t really on par. we once waited 20 minutes to just order or get water. The food is pretty decent… good portion size. very good. I have only ordered noodle dishes here and they have all been pretty good. One plus for this area. I haven’t seen much out here. I am used to being closer to the city!

Never eating here again, the coconut soup wasn’t warm and appeared too frothy with bubbles all around the surface… hope they didn’t put dishwashing detergent in there or didn’t clean the soup bowl… yuck… For the main course, I ordered the red curry tofu and the sauce was so watery that it looked like soup. Mango II in Tewksbury is a better alternative

Don’t let the strip mall location fool you, this place is awesome. Went here for lunch the other day with a friend and loved it. The food was awesome, very fresh, and tasted great. They had a large menu of traditional Thai foods, as well as some of the more Americanized Thai as well. The owner is friendly, funny, and never forgets a face. The service was fast and friendly. We waited a few minutes too long to get our bill at the end, but I would hardly complain. Overall, great food, great owners, definitely check this out.

Went here for lunch on a weekday few weeks back, and food was great! My friend and I got a couple spicy dishes, mine being a spicy shredded chicken basil dish. We got the Thai iced teas, as I usually do, and I had to start off with the Tom Yum soup. The soup was a large portion! I had a bit of chit chat with the owner, and he is great to talk to! He used to work in a technical field in the same field as I am in now, and he opened this place up 6 years ago with his passion to cook. He is definitely an entrepreneur with many dreams! I told him I would love to learn to cook Thai food, and he said he does hold classes time to time. He said I could come in any weekend as long as I exchange some Korean cooking dishes … uhhhh that will require me to bring my mom :) She’s the Korean chef! Place was not so busy when I went, and food came out pretty quick, I am my tummy were satisfied! I will go here again for lunch!

First off, I’m not a Thai food aficianado. I’ve been to Montien three times and now Tuk Tuk Express. Heather O and I went there last friday night to check out what everybody was talking about and here’s the skinny. We arrived around 6 and were the only people in the place. Upon entering, you see a bar with seating for around 15 people. To each side are smaller tables for patrons to eat there. The owner was working the entire place by himself that night, but he was very friendly. I realized pretty quickly that most people that frequent the place ordered takeout and, while waiting, would have a drink at the bar. Our experience: The chicken satay appetizer was good and it came with both peanut and sweet and sour sauces. I ordered the honey Pork while she got pad thai. She loved hers, but mine was just ok. Probably ordered the wrong thing, I don’t know. I had some Singha lite beer and she ordered a white wine. The wine was skunky and they took it off our bill for us. The service was on the slow side, with both of us getting a little antsy by the end, but the owner was very nice and I couldn’t say it was a bad experience, just nothing special enough to make me want to make the drive up to Tewksbury again.

I love this restaurant. Last week we drove up from Boston to go skiing and stopped in Tewksbury to get gas. We saw the Thai place across the street and said«hm». On the way back from skiing we tried to find the Thai place we’d remembered and couldn’t find it. So, yesterday we went on a hunt to find the place and lo and behold, after getting off at 4 different exits we found Tuk Tuk. And wow was it worth it. First off, the décor is very pleasant, as are the welcoming staff. Secondly, the bathroom is clean and pretty and has a little hand soap and lotion dispenser. This is very important. Thirdly, perhaps most important, the food is delicious! I always get pad thai because I am boring, but my husband had a curry rice dish and curry puffs. I also had the tom khat soup. Everything was so fresh and tasty and filled with yummy vegetables. The food came out with no delay and was hot and fantastic. I will definitely return. I almost don’t want to review it lest it gets swarmed. Oh, one more thing. The menus had these informative things on them. Mine was on ginger, my husband’s was on bastard cardamom. Awesome.
