My 5 year old son’s preschool teacher suggested I have his eyes checked after noticing him squint for several days. I chose Dr. Phillips because I know his wife and I just thought that since she is such an amazingly kind person that he would have to be a wonderful person too. Unfortunately that is not the case. This was my child’s first visit ever to the eye dr., as most children are, he was very skeptical and did not want to let the nurse put eye drops in his eyes. The nurse didn’t try very hard, once she saw how scared my son became she said that we will let Dr. Phillips handle it. We were sent into an exam room to wait on Dr. Phillips. When he entered the room he looked at me and said something about how he understood that the nurse was not able to give my child the eye drops and I told him that was correct. The next thing I know, rather than talking to my child about the drops this monster walked over to my child, got in his face, raised his voice and said something to the tune of «You are not running anything,» or «You are not the boss of anything.» And I am not the mom that thinks my child can do no wrong but when you get in my sons face and begin to reprimand him you better show me some respect first and let me know why you are treating my terrified 5 year old like he just turned your office upside down. The entire time we were there Dr. Phillips was hateful to my child, who did nothing wrong, and showed me very little, if any, respect. When we left his office I cried the whole way home because I felt like my child had just been berated by the kind of person I am supposed to protect him from. This man is a father and I guaranty that he would never put up with someone treating his child or himself the way we were treated that day. I paid this disgusting human being to belittle my son who did absolutely nothing wrong. By far one of, if not the worst, experiences as a parent so far. I couldn’t believe that I subjected my child to such and awful man. Turns out my son did not need glasses but both of my daughters do and we took our business elsewhere and were treated with the utmost respect. We will never see Dr. Phillips again and I will make sure that everyone I know and love doesn’t either.
