Jerry Built Homegrown Burgers

This place is located outside of the mall. It has parking and a restroom for men, women, and another that is for either that is good for handicapped folks or parents with children or handicapped children. Transgendered folks could find this situation useful too. The food was good. They sell their fries separate from the burger. There are several different types of fries. The place looked clean. You can also see into the kitchen through some see through panels in the wall. Don’t forget to get the points card from them if you plan on visiting them again. They also used a paper to go boxe for my order. Love that. I added seasoning salt to my fries since it was a little plain. I wish I sprung for the spicy fries. It was a dollar more.

Tucked off the high street behind a beautiful blanket of trees is Jerry Built. Situated between a Verizon store and a mattress firm you would not expect good things. But when you walk in the nostalgic smell of burgers and dogs on the grill in your childhood backyard hits you. But these aren’t your mother’s burgers!
I took the advise of an earlier review and tried the Bacon Avocado Burger and some of the Sweet Potato Fries. Slightly under seasoned for my taste, but with a little bit of fresh ground sea salt that is on the table the char grilled taste of good quality meat came right through. The whole wheat bun was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and if you step to the back you can watch their full scale bake shop bake them fresh in front of you.
In addition to the great burger and sweet fries, check in and claim your lemonade. They press it fresh and offer original, blueberry, and strawberry. I opted for the strawberry and it was great!
The young woman at the register was very nice, she must be new but has the nicest smile and was very helpful as was her trainer who was just a few steps away. I assume the man scooting around with a scooter due to his leg in a cast was the manager. I though the scooter was neat and honestly added to the fun atmosphere. Walls painted in chalkboard paint, farmhouse community tables, 4 tops, and booths. An early lunch and it wasn’t super loud but once it great busy it might be.
This seemed to be a local place, and they give back to the community and work with local farmers, ranchers, and brewers.
Overall good place, good atmosphere, quality product, good value. You can’t ask for better.

Great service and a great burger. The burger was juicy and well seasoned. Our kids loved the chalkboard and cookie ice cream sandwiches. Service staff was really putting forth the effort.

I was in The Woodlands area for several days and goggled hamburgers and Jerry was on the list. I try to eat at local restaurants when out of town. I decided to give it a try and wow I hit a home run here. First the burger was probably in my top 3 of all time. I choose to go with the built a burger option. The grilled meat was outstanding and all the ingredients were very fresh and tasteful. The atmosphere was very nice, the beer was served with a cold glass (which I like) and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only down side is that they don’t have a location in Waxahachie, TX. If Jerry is interested I would like to talk.

This is a fun place to take the family for a casual burger but they really make an excellent burger. I recommend Mike’s Big Burger and the Parmesan Fries. How can you go wrong with that? Great décor, friendly service, and tasty burgers. ‘Nough Said! Cheers!

Decided to try this place while at the woodlands mall. I love burgers and been to a few different places.
This place is similar to but a step above a smash burger. With that said this place along with smash burger are high priced for average burgers.
I ordered the bacon avocado burger $ 8 burger only not a meal not a combo nada just the burger. The burger was good and tasty but small no bigger than any other Qtr pound burger at fast food places. My wife’s burger was $ 10.
My wife and I went there and two burgers, one shared fries and sweet tea and a glass of wine and we paid $ 31
It was a little noisy, when looking for a table we avoided the area with small children but ended up near a table with two teens that went silly and were a little loud and giggly while drawing on chalkboard wall.
Plenty of parking, staff was very friendly and greeted us promptly and was helpful when we asked questions since it was our first time there.
I really like the place it was new and nice décor but pricey. They should charge $ 10 and make it a combo with fries and drink. I won’t come back for $ 15 burger but it was worth a try.
Could only imagine the cost for a family with 2 – 3 children. My overall rating from 0 – 10 would be a 7 due to cost but it was in the Woodlands so maybe it’s expected.

First visit here for lunch and had a great experience!!! It’s a trendy burger joint with friendly customer service! It’s very inviting.
You can see how your food is made through the glass windows. Walk towards the back next to the restrooms. You can be sure that your food will be handled properly due to all the cameras.
We ordered the BBQ bacon and I had «build your own» burger. I had the avocado, American cheese, lettuce, burger. Toppings are $ 1/​ea. So my build your own burger was $ 9. At least I get what I want in my burger. :D
Fresh squeeze lemonade was sooo good! Starbucks lemonade has no comparison! There are 2 other choices for lemonade flavors.
Side note: if you can’t get your kids to eat their meal, use the chalkboard as an incentive/​reward system. See pic.
Dessert: $ 1 scoop for ice cream! Sweet deal!
Will definitely be back for happy hour special!

Some of the best service and greatest food! We were treated like royalty from the time we got here to the time we left. We will absolutely be back!

Great burgers, fries, lemonade and milkshakes! The salads always look good too, but we never are in the area when I’m craving a salad.
The grind in the party is a bit course for me, I wish they would grind the meat more, but I always enjoy it when we go.
Lots of options and the portobello burger is delish too!

The food is great and the service has gotten a lot better over the past yr or two. The strawberry shake isn’t artificial tasting, and the blueberry lemonade is the bomb! Support local eat well!

I get to the counter… ordered the BYO and tried the jalapeño cream cheese (based on other user reviews) and LOVED IT. Cashier seemed like she hated it there, thus making me more uncomfortable. I so love the organics. The amount of choices on toppings, sauces, cheeses drinks and even HOT sauces was quite enthralling. I love hot sauces and they had one I hadn’t had before and really loved it. Spicy fries could have been spicier. Just for my one meal it was a little pricey it was 15 $$$ (damn) being a fellow hospitality worker it hurt the bank a little bit, but the food made up for it. Will be back.

They have recently much improved. The whole wheat bun was fresh and flavorful. Fries were hot and crisp. Good burger though a little skimpy on the cheese. Tables and whole place very clean and staff twice asked if I need anything. Glad to see this place back on track.

The service was exceptional. My mother ate the grilled chicken sandwich and she had no complaints. My brother ate the bacon avocado with a fried egg on top and absolutely loved it. My wife and I both ate the bacon avocado and had no complaints. The only complaint was that the macaroni and cheese was not fully cooked. The staff was very helpful in exchanging the Mac and Cheese for a grilled corn. I would return to this establishment in the near future. I highly recommend the root beer float, bacon avocado burger with fried egg on top and the ice cream cookie.

While I was at the counter paying, I saw the cook at the grill grab raw chicken with the same hand she’d just grabbed burgers with. The gooey drippy chicken tongs were laying on the same surface that the burger spatula was on. It’s 2016 for crying out loud. Don’t they know about food safety and cross-​contamination?
I don’t know how the food is because I’m not into playing Russian roulette when I’m taking my children to dinner. Got a refund and left.
I wouldn’t go there again if it were the last burger joint in town.

I am a big burger lover. So I am always out looking for the best burgers in Houston. I saw this place and I decided to give it a try. They serve a decent selection of burgers. I ordered the regular burger with cheese and fries. Though it was not one the best burgers I have eaten, it did rank amongst the top on my list for this area. Service was good and speedy. They are a bit expensive but it’s to be expected for good burgers in this area.

Awesome food. Great customer service. The menu has a good amount of meals and sides for everyone. They have vegan meals as well. Spacious and clean. I am definitely coming back here. I recommend it.

Some kind of issue with cashier or computer it took a while. I had read other reviews so I clearly asked for medium not well done. Burger was well done. I didn’t want to wait. Burger was good/​average. Not a $ 10 burger in my opinion. Restaurant was modern and clean. They had a lot of staff but things seemed slow (like taking the order and getting served). It always amazes me when that happens.

Out of the area burger joints I’ve tried as of late, this by far is my go to place. Clean, orderly and with great tasting food. Burgers are made to order and if you’ve never tried fries with truffle oil, you’re not really living.
But be warned, the meals will take a bite out of your wallet.
So, if you’re a bit low on funds and looking for a place to take a cheap date, Taco Bell is about a ¼ mile east of here.

I was so looking forward to this place. Really appeared nice coming in and the staff was very friendly. But I ordered and avocado burger with Parmesan fries. The avocado burger was average. The fries were absolutely disgusting and I didn’t think it was possible to make Parmesan fries disgusting. For one it appeared the fries were frozen crinkle fries. May be fresh but nothing tasty about potato to determine that. The Parmesan cheese tasted very old and had a rank taste. I had planned to take half my meal home and I have no desire to experience the taste again. Worst part is for burger fries and water it was $ 15. A little pricey. If had been good I would be fine with it just knowing It was above average price. This concept just has too little thrill. I do appreciate beer and one option.

Trendy and clean and courteous service– it is what it is… if you want your burger rare/​medium you need to tell them up front– otherwise you will get a well done burger… everything was good and hot and fresh… can’t say enough about the staff, following up with us and very polite… nice lunch over all… next time I am so getting shakes!!!

Good fresh food. Grass fed Angus beef has a good flavor. If you prefer that they not cook your burger medium well or more, let them know up front. Hot dogs are great as well. The chicken is average. All cooked when ordered. Bread is also fresh baked. Only downside is that it’s on the pricey side. $ 15 for a sandwich, side and a drink.

Omg. I read a comment about this place having «just average-​over priced burgers»…in my opinion, that was Baloney! Rob the GM was there, and I had to tell him about the awesome service I received from a young man named Duncan, and how yumy my burger was! I will say if u have a small appetite (in which I had a late breakfast before coming) the kids burger, fries, and drink were suitable for me. I enjoyed the hand wash station, and the cleanliness of the establishment. You have won over a new customer. Thanks!

This place is average. Nothing too special. Just another average burger place that is overpriced. Burgers are $ 7.50−10÷11 and that’s without fries and a drink! First time there I got chicken which was dry. Second time was much better. I ordered the Jerrys Burger and added on a fried egg for an extra $ 1. Tasted pretty good until half way I tasted an egg shell. But I shook it off bc I know sometimes things like that happen. Until three bites later I had another bite with MORE eggshell that was enough for me to spit out.
Overall everything was average. Average for the high price. I wouldn’t mind coming here again but it wouldn’t be my first burger pick.

So we are giving Jerry’s a try. Not starting off well by telling me I have to have burnt food. I don’t like med well or well done. If you can not train you cooks to not kill customers a serving med and med rare… well you have bigger problems.
Forgot the bacon and burnt the egg. Doubt I’ll come back.

Not a happy dinning experience
Apparently they can’t cook anything short of burnt as they can’t keep their grill clean enough to offer medium rare. I asked for grilled Jalapeños, bacon, swiss, mushrooms, and a soft egg, medium rare.
The manager came over and told me we only offer medium well and well done. I asked for medium
Burger arrived.. No bacon, burnt to coal, rubber egg and pickled jalapeños and very little of anything though they charge a dollar for each topping
It went back
Let’s see how well it comes back.

STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING, AND GO TO JERRY BUILT.
When Jerry Built first came up in the Woodlands, I was a little skeptical. We’ve all seen those «fancy, new, and modern» burger bars that are popping up all over the place. But before you make the same judgement, Jerry Built is so much different. It is unique and truly makes a dang good burger. Here are a few reasons why Jerry Built should be your new burger place:
1. THE BURGERS — These aren’t just any old burgers. Grass-​fed beef prepared in house, grilled, and served on the best croissant buns (also made in house) with fresh and organic vegetables. There are many unique combinations and burgers you can get here. One of my personal favorites is the avocado-​burger! Everything tastes fresh!
2. Hello ambiance! — This place is definitely modern. Large building, tons of seating, booths, and tables. Food is ordered and paid before seating. There’s cool decorations, a huge chalkboard wall for the kiddos, a clear view of the kitchen and prepartion areas, and a pretty palette of greens, browns, and metal (yes, my favorites).
3. All-​American — Although they don’t offer anything more than burgers, they do have a great menu for the kids, delicious fries (YES SWEET POTATO FRIES), and an awesome selection of Blue-​Bell products (shakes, ice cream sandwiches, etc.), and they also have one of those cool soda machines with all the different flavors and almost every soda you can think of. Did someone say beer? Yes! They have craft and domestic beers and wine, plus bottled sodas as well.
The staff here is fairly nice, nothing too spectacular. It’s usually pretty clean, but most of the times when I go in here there are definitely kids. This is for sure a family place, but there is enough seating to where you don’t have to be near kids.
My only complaint? They don’t have a good veggie option. They have a swiss and mushroom burger for the non-​meat eaters like myself, but mushrooms are gross. So I just stick to the «eat Jerry Built when I’m breaking veg» standard.

Decided to break my diet and get a burger and fries sans side of guilt. I ventured out to one of my bookmarked, «places to try» for a taste of homegrown, succulent beef, a fresh baked bun and some homemade crinkle cut fries!
JerryBuilt Home Grown Burgers serves natural, pasture-​raised beef and chicken from local farmers and ranchers. Their food contains no antibiotics, no growth hormones, no trans fats or hydrogenated oils. Just fresh, light and flavorful meat. *JerryBuilt also has great options for the non-​meat eater, by offering a portobello mushroom in place of the beef or chicken!*
The burgers were so juicy, unlike anything I’d tasted when it came to beef. My date ordered Jerry’s Cheeseburger, your normal cheeseburger but the «Ernie’s Sauce» he said, is what «brought it all home».The Houston Burger was amazing with the avocado (I substituted the guac) the black beans and corn and not to mention the cilantro mayo. I ordered Parmesan Fries too, they were the bomb.
Great beers and Ice cream sandwiches. and a great place for the kids!

Honestly this place have good tasting burgers especially how it’s fresh/​grass fed.
But I took two stars off because I thought the burger patty should have been bigger for the price. I took another star off because if they left it a little more medium with juice then it would be better.
Overall it’s a good environment and I would definitely come back here again. Mostly just to try out their st Arnold’s combo (burger specifically meant to go with st Arnold’s beer).
I tried out the jalapeño fries and I felt as if they just sprinkled the spice on the fries. I wouldn’t try it again.
