I do not recommend this doctor. My first visit was in 2013. It is now 2016 and my stomach issues have gotten worse. At first, it seemed like he actually cared; asking questions, sincere, and knowledgeable. However, as time progressed, the more I felt like I was just another patient thrown into the pot. He scheduled me for an Upper GI, which I did. After it was all said and done, he diagnosed it as «acid reflux» and put me on Prilosec. After about one month, I felt no better than I had before I had seen the doctor. Do not see this doctor if you have stomach issues. I’m hesitant to recommend a particular specialist, so I’ll advise you to do your due diligence.

I’m in the medical field and had referred patients to Dr G for years. After my father was seen by him, my opinion of him changed tremendously. Not only was my father NOT examined, but notes were typed up falsely and his insurance was charged. According to Dr George’s notes my father was in great health. This was very surprising since he had an aortic aneurysm, cancer and emphysema. My advice to all is to get copies of all of your medical information, know and understand your illnesses, do not rely on the MD. Errors are made too easily.

Found his staff to be extremely kind, supportive & kind. Received two calls prior to procedure after my initial office visit to ensure I understood the instructions & to answer any questions.
Dr George was kind & thorough. He was not rushed, he took his time & explained everything in terms & with illustrations that I understood & it made sense.

Dr. George and I met in 2014 at Los Robles Hospital after a bad lap choly surgery where my bile duct was knicked. He placed a Stent to repair the duct.

Dr. George seems like a nice person, and his colonoscopy facility seems «state of the art,» but as far as a gastrointestinal diagnostician for issues such as IBS, IBD (Crohn’s and colitis), etc he is terrible. I wasted 2 years seeing him, and he gave me a new diagnosis each visit (I told my husband it seemed he was pulling diagnoses out of a hat). One diagnosis was gastroparesis, and I looked it up and requested the simple test to rule in or out – and I didn’t have it. The first colonoscopy had to be done again the following year, as he forgot to take biopsies to check for microscopic colitis (which I possibly have) – and each time I prep for a colonoscopy it is like torture, so having a second and unnecessary one was frustrating! He did see I had bad hemorrhoids, and it would have been nice if he could have referred me to a proctologist (who I found on my own and got tremendous relief with Dr. Rosenfeld in TO from that particular problem).

None of the horrible reviews below are recent and I can only speak to my experience that everything went as smoothly as it could have gone and everyone involved was fantastic from prep to follow-​up! The staff took the time to talk to me and walk me through the prep, the doctor made sure I understood how everything was to go and answered all of my questions and the anesthesiologist made the whole experience forgettable! I woke up feeling relaxed and never felt that I had even had a procedure done. They called to follow up with me a few days later to make sure I was fine and I couldn’t have asked for it to go any better!

Dr George performed a colonoscopy on my wife in Los Robles Hospital at the recommendation of the ER Doc. All went well. We were treated wonderfully by everyone involved. At a follow-​up office visit we arrived 10 minutes early for scheduled 1:45 pm appointment. Dr George arrived at 3:10 and was apologetic and stated he had an emergency at the Hospital. Don’t know if this was an anomaly or routine.

Wow… I’m not sure that we’re talking about the same doctor and staff. Days before the procedure I was seen to be educated on procedure and given at home prep instructions. On the day that I arrived for colonoscopy the surgical staff informed me about the process and they were really very nice and caring. They wanted to put me at ease. Prior to being taken in to OR doctor George came out to speak with me about the procedure, and to assure me that I would be just fine. And I was. I would highly recommend Dr George, his staff and is Clinic. I have never been so far off of the majority of the reviews. This makes me suspect.

I do not recommend seeing this doctor. I felt like he was always rushing to get in and out. Didn’t really seem to care much, just prescribe pills and send you on your way. I feel all my visits were a waste of time as I am still in pain. In my opinion this doctor is more interested in return customers «$$$» than helping people.

One of the worst medical experiences I have ever had as related to bedside manner and sufficient prep/​explanation of what to expect. Would highly discourage using his or his staff services; starting with the inept pre-​procedure consult right through to post-​procedure. This is not fun to begin with so lack of proper prep and arrogance add insult to injury.

I have to highly recommend Dr. George and his staff. I recently had an FMT procedure that literally saved my life!!! He and his staff answered any and all of my questions and he returned my call personally at 10:30pm on a weekend for a follow up question I needed answered in a timely manner. If you have any digestive issues and especially if you think you may need the FMT procedure, I would call and schedule an appointment with Dr. George’s office immediately. The FMT procedure is still considered «experimental» for certain digestive disorders, but I can tell you first hand from someone who just had the procedure done 3 weeks ago and woke up the next day pain free and have been getting better everyday since then, IT WORKS!!! You owe it to yourself to check it out. This is the same FMT procedure that was developed by a doctor in Australia and featured on the Dr. Oz show about 6 weeks ago. I can’t thank Dr. George and his staff enough for literally help save my life!!!

I refer all my patients to him based on his stellar reputation as a superb Gastroenterologist.
What impress me most about Dr. George is his work ethic, and the attention to detail that he gives to every patient in his care.
Recently, my mother became a patient of his and she loved him. She found him to be very knowledgeable and easily approachable. He was extremely thorough, and answered all her questions and concerns in great detail.
The staffs at his facility were professional, courteous and helpful. From the front office staff to the nurses, everyone did an amazing job.
His clinic is up to date and well maintained, and the endoscopy suite was impeccable.
I highly recommend Dr. George.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!
Went for my routine age 50 colonoscopy and the cleansing did not work well for me even with 3 enemas before the procedure. Dr George Alister did the colonoscopy anyway even though he could not see clearly with the camera. I woke up in terrible pain and was sent home. After a horrific day and night at home, I was sent to Los Robles for a full body cat scan to see if any part of my intestine had been punctured. He should not have done the procedure without a clear view of my intestines! Terrible bedside manner to boot.
