Dr. Johnson has an unusual business practice of turning patients away unless they have high paying insurance coverage. It was disappointing to see a doctor care more about money then providing care. It’s not like United Healthcare doesn’t pay but perhaps they scrutinize charges more than this doctor likes.

Great and wonderful staff, Dr. Johnson needs to take classes on patient care and communication. I had to call to find out information on a post colonoscopy procedure and his billing relationship with the hospital is horrible. In good faith I cannot recommend this physician to anyone looking for a caring specialist in the field of gastrointerology.

I’ve been waiting for weeks to see Dr. Johnson and his receptionist (along with another woman) just told me (via phone) that they can’t see me because my provider changed and while they would still get paid — they don’t want to have to bother with any forms. So, I politely said, «I haven’t been able to digest anything for months, I’m losing weight, I’m in pain, I don’t have a car and I have to go through a lot of work to get a ride to my doctor’s appointments. I finally got in with you guys on the same day as my other appointment with Dr. Gonzalez (tomorrow), and I get to continue having the inability to eat most foods (without knowing why) because you don’t want to bother with a form…» and then I just hung up without waiting for her response. I’ve completely lost my faith in humanity again… and all it took was one phone call.

Dr. Johnson was very attentive and kind. He’s knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me. He’s not an alarmist which is important when you’re dealing with uncomfortable and potentially serious procedures. When talking about other doctors I was dealing with, he was very respectful. Overall, I would highly recommend him!

I have been going to Dr. Johnson for many years and he is very caring and competent. I trust him and feel very comfortable with him. A great Doctor!
