History

Established in 1986.

After finishing medical school in San Francisco and a surgical residency in San Jose, Dr. Michael Zapf began his practice in Agoura Hills. He added a second office in Thousand Oaks almost 20 years ago. Both offices are beautiful with awe inspiring views of the community. Over the years he has added the ulcer care and complex surgical expertise of Drs. Darren Payne and Steve Benson to the practice so everything from ingrown nails to reconstructive ankle surgery can now be provided. Both office have digital ultrasound and the Thousand oaks office has the latest in digital x-​ray.

Dr. Michael Zapf is a California native graduating from California State University at Long Beach and receiving a Maser of Public Health degree from UCLA with an emphasis in Infectious and Tropical Diseases. His public health training led him to work for the State of California as a laboratory specialist for a few years before returning to podiatric medical school. With his Rotary Club (Westlake Sunrise) he has made seven trips to Honduras on medical missions performing «pro bono» children’s foot surgery. He is an active member of the Los Angeles County podiatric medical society and was appointed in 2012 by the Governor to the California State Board of Podiatric Medicine which oversees the profession from the headquarters in Sacramento. He makes several trips a year to Sacramento to fulfill this role.
