PMIR Medical Center was founded by Dr. Alexander P. Hersel, M.D. in 2003 to provide a variety of treatments for both acute and chronic pain.

Reasonable care and responsive and supportive staff. The facility is modern and clean. However, poor billing practices don’t disclose actual costs and found my insurance billed for $ 40,000 — $ 50,000 for a very short and simple procedure. This wasn’t disclosed and they won’t provide information in advance regarding costs billed to insurance for any procedures. Even though patient pays out of pocket max, it seems unethical and exploits this aspect of medicine. By billing as out of network provider, it provides a highly lucrative way for a physician owned practice (conflict of interest) to bill outrageous costs.

Doesn’t give a shit about patients who are in constant pain. They only care about themselves. If you are looking for pain management look elsewhere. They are only interested in protecting themselves in non existent lawsuits. They are the biggest waste of time and money I’ve ever encountered.

I have been going to Dr. Spiegel for at least a year now. Dr. Spiegel has tried several different approachs to relieve my pain. There have been times that I have had relief for many months. When the pain returned he always looked for new techniques to help me. He is a gentle and caring doctor and spends all the time needed to answer your questions and suggest other solutions. His staff is friendly and helpful. His assistant, Heather is also very helpful. I would recommend Dr. Spiegel to anyone looking for an excellent doctor and staff.

Don’t make an appt if they are not in network with your insurance company, Even though they say they take it and will extend the same level of billing!!!

I have been going to PMIR and seeing Dr. Spiegel for two years. I had gone to many pain management and spine centers prior to seeing Dr. Spiegel and was never satisfied. Dr. Spiegel and his staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is very rarely any wait for your appointment time. Dr. Spiegel is conservative in his approach with invasive techniques and medication; however he has managed my back and neck pain exceptionally well. I would highly recommend him and PMIR to anybody. His assistant, Heather is always upbeat and kind and when I need anything she is always extremely timely and helpful. I am thankful everyday that I found PMIR and Dr. Spiegel.

I highly recommend Dr Okavat. I have been seeing him for about 5 years now. After dealing with multiple back surgeries. I think if I would have seen him first, I would not have had any? I have also refereed my mom there for her neurology issues, She really likes him too. A wise choice

If you are having any pain related issues and want the best in care with your pain being the main concern, get involved with PMIR. DR Hersel is as good as they get. I’ve been a patient for almost 10yrs. Dr Hersel and Dr Okovat had been there to support, bring new technology and advise on how to best get through the day with a smile and pain relief. If you are hurting and don’t seek their expertise, its only you that will suffer.
