Shelley’s Precision Auto Center

All of these reviews are correct — this place is wonderful. As a woman, I am usually treated dreadfully at an auto shop, but Shelley’s is the exception. They are fair and very friendly. I send my 21-​year old daughter here as well; they always treat her well and keep her clunker running.

I went here a while ago to get a smog check and this place is super quick and friendly! I am sending my mom here to get her smog check just because the service is incredible and they are super fast and friendly and help you with everything you need! Thank you for your service.

I don’t often do reviews unless some place is exceptionally bad or exceptionally good. And this is a case of the latter.
Shelley’s is one of the best modern automotive repair shops I have ever been to!
Everyone is friendly, comfortable to be around, the wonderful ladies in the office know cars, the experienced mechanics know cars (believe it or not, there are a lot of mechanics that do not know anything about the cars they work on other than how to turn a wrench and read OBDII codes).
They don’t try to sell things you don’t need.
They are not pushy or aggressive.
And they have doggies!
I think the doggies know cars too!
They even work on and know the differences between models of strange cars with strange needs like the 2004 PT Cruiser GT Turbo I have brought in a few times, that places like Pepboys and other big brand businesses will often use the wrong/​crappy parts on from a wrong or lower model or try to sell services and push things the car does not need or could even hurt the car, even the dealership has done this! But not Shelley’s!

We have all likely had that moment where we are just driving along, everything is right, then… *kerplonk!* What the hell was that??? Oh no the check engine light is on and everything is shaking! Oh crap oh crap oh crap! I’m going to have to take a loan out on the house and sell the kids to fix whatever just broke! The mechanics are going to rip me off! I think my wallet just started crying… My poor car, you are too young to die! Live damn you! Live! You have so many more miles left to drive for!
I go to Shelley’s expecting the worst, I had even started digging a hole in the back yard to bury our poor dying car…
Then something amazing happens!
This is the only auto repair place I have gone to in over 10 years that doesn’t give me a heart/​anxiety attack when it comes time to see what is wrong or time to pay the bill. Even on something I thought was going to be a huge problem with everything from the transmission lurching to the turbo making strange noises and engine shaking too much, other places were telling us we need a new engine or transmission or turbo, or all three, and Shelley’s says, «Nope just the motor mounts and air-​box hose.» And the car was running like new again the next day!
They saved it! And I didn’t have to go homeless paying for it! And now I have a PT Cruiser shaped hole in the back yard I’m going to turn into a hot-​tub.
I was even offhandedly talking about a used car I was interested in and if it had any problems they know of and their mechanics say nope, and they call up the transmission guy down the street right then and there and ask him what he knows about the transmissions for the particular car I was looking at, and the guy has owned 2 of them and said they are amazingly reliable. So now I will likely be buying said car, and I can assure you Shelley’s will be the only place I trust to take it to, if and when anything needs work.
Shelley’s knows what real customer service is!
And I cannot stress how important that is in this day and age. So many places talk down to you, or act like they know something they don’t, or only see dollar signs when you walk in the door. Shelley’s knows that honesty and treating people like people is what gets and keeps customers and makes for a good, long lasting, and profitable, business!
You ladies and guys and doggies at Shelley’s are awesome!

This is a family business that makes you feel like family. They take care of their responsibilities seriously knowing that you and your family need to be in a safe and well functioning vehicle. I wish there were more stars.

Wow! I am so impressed. I never take my cars to anyone but my regular mechanic, so when I found myself out of the area and in a pinch (Turn signal out at the DMV and my 16 year old in tears) what a blessing it was to find Shelley’s Precision Auto. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They got us in and out in record time and even gave my daughter a few pointers about taking her drivers test. When it came time to pay, all they had for me was a smile, saying it was on the house and good luck to my daughter on the test. If I lived in the area, I would definitely bring my cars here again and I would certainly recommend them to any one in the area or needing a quick repair near the DMV because you just don’t find that kind of service anymore. I probably shouldn’t be writing this because it will only make these guys get busier and make it harder for me to get an appointment to fix my car. So, after looking for over two years to find a mechanic who can actually diagnose my intermittent cutting out problem and wasting hundreds of dollars for parts and labor I didn’t need. l decided to use this place based on the the high number of 5 star reviews. After they diagnosed my car with a bad crank shaft position sensor from autozone (changed twice) and replaced with a Napa Auto sensor. All is good now. Wish I had heard about them sooner. Thanks again guys.

Great service and this morning I came here for smog check. 20 minutes everything is set and thank yo for saving my time and money. Strongly recommended!

My first experience with Shelleys was fine, but the second time wasn’t so much. I took my car in for an oil leak, which they didn’t guarantee would be fixed but said should fix it, paid $ 700 only to find out it was 10 times worse when I brought it back home. I wouldn’t be as bothered by this is if I wasn’t a student who can only make $ 700 in 3 months and the sad part about it is that they wanted to charge me more to look at it again. The least you can do is look at it free of charge after making me pay $ 700 for a leak that was worsened at your fault. I really expected better from shelley’s after seeing all these reviews, but I also do appreciate Jerry coming to look at my car outside of work.

I thought my Jeep was on its last leg and needed a new transmission. I brought it into Shelley’s and they said it wasn’t anything that bad. They fixed what was broken and I had it back the same day. Way cheaper and faster than I thought. I will bring all of my cars here from now on.

Our family and our vehicles have been through alot in the last 15 years and Shelly’s service and personnel have been with us through thick and thin of automotive maintenance and repair. What I like the most is the sharing of knowlege, wit and wisdom as Paul
. walks you through «why» and the inner workings from brakes, belts, batteries, blickers to catalytic converters, cruise controls, components and gliches with computers in our cars. Truly enjoy the welcomes and smiles from the office personnel and the doggie greetings are an added and unexpected pick-​me-​up especially when you are inconvenienced by roadside assistance and a tow to Shelly’s shop. The mechanics are competent and conscientious in the execution of tasks on hand from inspections, oil changes to diagnostics and difficult repairs. They deliver every time and within reasonable costs.

Shelley’s always takes great care of all our cars and they get us in usually that same day! The women in the front are wonderful, friendly, helpful and knowledgable!

Thanks to the great Unilocal reviews that led me there, I took my new (used Ford Flex) car to Shelley’s. We had great service, each person we talked to was friendly, they called to keep us updated, did the work faster than expected, Christy in the office worked with our warranty insurance to get it covered, and we are completely happy with our experience. We are so thrilled to have found a great place to bring our cars in for regular oil changes, and any other service!

I called Shelley’s after hearing good things on Unilocal.The ladies up front provided me with a quote over the phone, assuming everything that I ‘thought’ was wrong with my car was correct. I was wrong. After dropping off my car, they actually called to tell me the repair was going to be HALF of what I was expecting to pay, as some services I thought I needed were not necessary.
Needless to say, this kind of honesty was not just refreshing, but hard to come by nowadays. I’ll never bring my car anywhere else, and highly recommend Shelley’s to anyone that wants a fair, honest, and knowledgeable mechanic.

After thinking our Malibu had seen it’s last day, Shelley’s came to the rescue. Not only are they very customer friendly they also know their business. My car is running better than ever and it didn’t break the bank. I highly recommend Shelley’s to all.
