Block Advisor

We were very unprepared and late for this years tax return and being in a new area we went to the nearest H&R Block. Shirley Cook took our case and was able to assist us in turning what looked like a mess into a nice size refund for our family. She assisted in filing both our business and personal taxes as well as preparing all documents for a final tax return and dissolution of our corporation. It was outside of the normal tax season (after the deadline) so it did take some time, but I was very impressed with her wisdom and experience. I truly couldn’t have asked for much more and was pleasantly surprised as well as grateful for what she did for us.

I generally don’t write reviews, I was unable to send a written feedback to h&r block hence the review.
I met with SHIRLEY COOK on 3÷1÷2014 for tax filing including ITIN. I had booked the appointment with her after inquiring whether they do ITIN verification and would be able to send the tax returns to IRS directly and I need not go through the process of waiting at the IRS office with my one year old daughter.
After we were there for the appointment, she told us that she will not be able to file the ITIN she would just do the tax returns. The H&R Block website also claims that she does ITIN.
H&R Block could have just called me back and said that we don’t do ITIN once they found out. I had to take my one year old all the way to their office, wait for 30 mins and find out they are not able to do the one service that I went there for. Very disappointing. She is blaming the front office staff for not telling me the right information.
The disconnect in communication and non customer focused attitude is a big minus. Hope such a big organisation takes the feedback positively and works towards fixing the gaps.
