Established in 1952.

L & R Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. was established in 1952 with the name of L & R Filter Service. L & R Filter Service was the original and only «tract home» filter service company of it’s time in Southern California. L & R would service entire tracts of homes offering furnace inspection and filter replacement. L & R continues to receive phone calls from original stickers placed on furnaces over 50 years ago. L & R Filter Service was one of the few pioneers with the knowledge to provide service, repair, and installation modifications to the enormous growth of the forced air furnace era. In 1985 L & R Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. added engineering experience, highly trained service technicians and sales representatives to their team. This gave L & R Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. the opportunity to service, repair and install commercial work, industrial applications, computer rooms, refrigeration, high rise buildings, tenant improvement, including residential.

I just wanted to take a moment to give my compliments to L&R Heating and Air Conditioning.
They just installed a new furnace and air conditioning units in my house and I couldn’t be a happier!
The installation was done quickly and professionally. They didn’t leave a mess when they were done.
The crew that did the work was friendly and answered all my questions expertly.
Our family has used them for over 30 years and we’ve never had a problem of any sort with them.

Used them several times to repair 20+ years old furnace. Each time I worry that this will be it – time to replace. Happily, Vince repairs it. I highly recommend this company because of their knowledge, but more because of their integrity! When I do need to replace, this will be the company that I’ll trust to do it.

I just had our 13 yr AC system fixed by L & R’s Vince. The blower stopped working and no cold air was coming out. Vince diagnosed it as the capacitor. He replaced it and out filter and did minor maintenance and advice. Very knowledgeable and stand up guy. Thanks for a great service from start to finish.

L&R has come out twice to service our furnace. The first time was seven years ago when the furnace stopped working. I had several guys come out and tell me that the entire unit needed to be replaced for $ 3000+. Then I called L&R because their sticker was on the original furnace and had done the original installation. After some testing, they told me that the only thing wrong was that the vent motor had seized up and that was all that needed to be replaced. The total cost was $ 375 including labor. The second time was a few weeks ago when they came out because the blower was malfunctioning intermittently. Some of the symptoms pointed to a possible faulty circuit board, but rather replace it right away, they made some adjustments and hopefully that will do the trick without a costly replacement board. They even came a second time without charging me an additional service fee!
Btw, Vince was the technician that came out each time and he is really friendly. Based on my experience, they are very honest and only do the service that is needed.

received the worst service ever from the office manager, carrie. she was completely unprofessional, rude and obnoxious.
had to reschedule my appointment 3 times and each time, she said the tech couldn’t make it after i had to call to follow up, no apologies and no courtesy calls as i wasted my time waiting. in her defense she said its not her fault ‘how would she know if the tech is unable to show’. how is it not her fault, how do you route the techs and not know where they are or follow up.
i asked to speak to her boss, she said she’s the office manager, there was no one else i could speak with!!! after telling her i was completely dissatisfied with her service and how things went down, she said with attitude, do you want the tech or not. i said no, she hung up.
i would never use this company again nor would i ever recommend it to anyone. ive never been so insulted as a customer. i had to create an account just to post about this terrible service because i was so displeased with them.

L&R Heating & AC was referred to me by a friend and I’m glad I took him up on that referral! Although I am not in the South Bay area, Ralph, the owner, was willing to come out to the westside to service my home. Really nice and knowledgeable in what he does. He won’t try to sell you something you don’t need and he will tell you like it is and not sugar coat the thing so you have an idea of what needs to be done and the proper way of solving the problem! Definitely good quality and service with a smile :). Need more good people like that around these days.
