I am beyond happy with Sun & sparrow. We could not have picked better photographers to do our engagement and wedding pictures. They made us feel extremely comfortable while taking our pictures. The Sun and Sparrow team is spectacular and my husband and I were so thrilled we selected them to capture our wedding! Photography and videography were the most important parts of the wedding for me. We knew that the day would fly by so quickly and the primary thing we would have left would be photos and the video to remember the day. Sun and Sparrow went above and beyond our expectations. The photos are to die for — their artistry is truly unparalleled. Tiffani and Ellie have an eye for taking gorgeous, glamorous, unique, sun-​filled and romantic photographs that you will want to look at over and over again. They also have such versatile talent! They not only captured incredibly romantic and magical garden poses for our wedding, but also indulged in our desire for modern photos. We had a fabulous and fun «modern» engagement shoot at Disney Hall and everyone was commenting on how unique and incredible the photos were — namely, that they looked like they were from a fashion magazine!
Not only did Tiffani and Ellie deliver extraordinary photographs that would last a lifetime, but they also made our wedding day as stress free as possible – including by going above and beyond in helping with preparations. We had not hired a professional wedding coordinator, but Tiffani came to the rescue by patiently helping me create a fabulous timeline and ensure that everything went smoothly. She was patient, kind, and professional and we couldn’t have had such a fabulous wedding if it wasn’t for her and Ellie. During the few days preceding the wedding, we were extremely concerned because there was a forecast for rain and we had an outdoor wedding. Tiffani reassured us that the photos would be fantastic even if it rained, and she even kindly offered to help look for and order stylish umbrellas for the bridal party. We were so lucky to be in such good and caring hands. Tiffani and Ellie also kindly came to our wedding venue a few weeks before the wedding to scope out great photo locations. They discovered amazing spots to capture my husband getting ready with his groomsmen on the day of the wedding, as well as spots for our Ketubah signing and bridal party photos. Their suggestions and creativity were simply perfect!
Tiffani’s and Ellie’s smiles, warmth, and friendship truly helped us relax and enjoy our wedding. We knew that everything would go fabulously and smoothly under their direction, which it did! Review based sites can be a confusing place to search for wedding photographers. It seems that most of the photographers on here have average of 5 stars, probably most reviewers are satisfied customers giving thanks. Which is great, but in order to gleam some value from these reviews when you’re informing yourself, you must go beyond the stars and look at the depth of the expression. When you do this with Sun and Sparrow’s you will notice the intensity of the gratitude and devotion from their customers. Long, detailed reviews that explain exactly how Tiffani and Ellie have made their day even more special and beautiful than they imagined. Their contribution goes beyond gorgeous photos, they’re kind and generous contributors to planning the day (and then, its aftermath) who act like friends. But yes, the photos are stunning– so utterly beautiful that I would still have hired them if they were’t the generous and exceptionally kind people that they are. That’s how important good photos were to me. The fact that they are, in fact, wonderful, is such a bonus and sort of astonishing.
I stumbled upon S&S looking for venues. The way their website is organized made it a great resource. I realized when I saw other photographs taken in the same locations that I wasn’t looking at amazing venues but amazing photography. If you are comparing photographers I highly recommend comparing photos taken at same venue. Every wedding on S&S’ site looks lush and luxe no matter the location – like a million bucks. This went for brides and grooms too — everyone looks gorgeous, photogenic, at her/​his very best, and with their unique personality shining through. S&S capture everything idyllically — people, nature, architecture, clothing, and décor. They do not excel at one aspect of wedding photography, they excel at all of it. They do have a signature style that sets them apart that is specific to light and and utilization of nature. It was something I swooned over before I was officially their client and one of the elements I was most excited for. Magical, ethereal, crazy-​romantic use of natural light for which I have dubbed them «Magical light faeries». There is also a motif I call «Big Trees Little People» for which I completely melt, a large composition in which a tree seems enormous in the frame highlighted with effortless, stunning sunflare, and then the couple, small in frame but not overpowered, are impossibly romantic. Visit their site to see more recent work as example photos here can be hard to keep current. They are growing as artists always, each time they post a «blog» for a new wedding it’s my new favorite.
As for being wonderful to work with, it’s hard to explain the level of service that they provide. Unexpectedly, I ended up sharing with them things that I would never imagine discussing with a vendor… personal stuff that I wouldn’t think would be relevant to taking and ordering wedding photos. Perhaps you have experienced this already… weddings have a way of being more complicated and emotional than anticipated. You’re dealing with the heaviest themes and issues– Love, family, finances, religion, societal expectations, how we show ourselves to the world and how we interpret our own image– some deep stuff is coming up, and suddenly the way that your «wedding photography» is handled becomes incredibly important. All I can say is that I couldn’t have found two people more patient, caring, helpful, generous, understanding, talented, and effective. These women went above and beyond the call of duty and I couldn’t be more grateful.

My husband and I love the way sun and sparrow captured the wedding photos on their website so we decided to give them a call. After talking to Tiffani on the phone, we had a great connection with them. It was even better after we met with them for our engagement session. They made everything feel stressed free. On our wedding day, they captured our wedding perfectly. Our photos came out great and beautiful with all positive comments from our family and friends.

We hired Ellie and Tiffani to photograph our engagement and wedding at Calamigos Ranch in September. They were amazing from start to finish. When my husband and I first got engaged and started the search for our wedding photographers, we literally looked at dozens of vendors. All seemed great, but after perusing Sun & Sparrow’s website and blog, none seemed to capture the talent Sun & Sparrow had for photographing a couple’s true love for each other. We were ecstatic when Tiffani replied to our inquiry that they were available for our wedding date! From the first Skype meeting, we instantly felt at ease talking with Tiffani — she is so warm and personable, and for stressed out brides-​to-​be, she outlined the entire process to make everything as clear and easy as possible. We first had an engagement session with Tiffani and Ellie — both ladies made what would have been an awkward photo session for us (we’re not used to posing in front of the camera for hours!) seriously one of the most fun days of our entire relationship. Additionally, both Tiffani and Ellie are so talented at capturing the photos we knew we wanted, but were so creative at coming up with ideas «on the spot.» We brought props with us with no particular idea in mind as to how to use them, but Tiffani and Ellie managed to incorporate them to produce really beautiful photos.
On the actual day of our wedding, Tiffani and Ellie came prepared to tackle the big day — we had so much going on, and so many special requests of specific shots we wanted to take, yet they were so accommodating and somehow managed to stay on our tight schedule. The entire day was a blur, but we trusted that Tiffani and Ellie were able to capture everything! When we received our photos, we were truly blown away by how absolutely beautiful and amazing they all turned out. Everything — from our getting ready shots, our bridal party portraits, our ceremony photos to our dance floor shots of all the guests — were perfect and captured all of the love and happiness we felt that day. We are so happy that we had Sun & Sparrow as our photographers, and they gave us the most beautiful pictures that we will always treasure for the rest of our lives!

Tiffani has such a great personality and truly helped my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Tiffani and Ellie of Sun & Sparrow at our joint work wedding this past Sunday. As an event planner, it is crucial to have professional vendors that know what they are doing and are able to handle timelines diplomatically. These type of vendors can either make or break an event — good vendors make events exponentially better and this duo is definitely good!

If we could give Tiffani and Ellie 100 stars, we would in a heartbeat! Photographers are so important in a wedding — long after your amazing day is over, you’re going to want photos that capture every moment and emotion you felt on your wedding day. Not only did Tiffani and Ellie capture breath taking, naturally beautiful photos, but they did it patiently, creatively and gracefully.
We are so grateful to them for not only giving us hundreds of beautiful pictures from our special day, but we are grateful because they were simply a joy to be around on our wedding day. It felt like they were guests who were invested in our love and happiness, and that feeling is truly priceless. You won’t regret hiring them!

My husband and I really cannot say enough good things about Sun and Sparrow. We originally met them at a friend’s wedding, which Tiffani and Ellie photographed BEAUTIFULLY. Although my husband and I were not even engaged yet at the time, we knew that when the time came, we would chose them as our wedding photographers. They exceeded every expectation that we had for them. Not only were Tiffani and Ellie responsive, professional, and excellent photographers (just look at their website if you need any proof!), but it was easy to tell how much they care about their clients. They went WAY beyond taking beautiful pictures. A few of the many examples: for our engagement shoot, Tiffani helped me to style a beautiful bouquet out of the table arrangement that my florist mistakenly gave me (I ended up liking her arrangement better than the florist’s!), and then stepped in as a hairstylist to help me change things up by making me a floral crown for my second look. On the wedding day itself, Ellie was the one to button my dress when the buttons were too tight for my mom to manage, while Tiffani put in my hairpins for the reception. Needless to say, none of these things were part of their job description. But regardless, they are so friendly, so approachable, so helpful, and so caring. Both of these ladies chose to go way above and beyond to make sure that our day was special.
And the pictures… Oh my gosh. The pictures. I could not have dreamed of anything more perfect. We had lighting conditions that were not exactly ideal (dark, candlelit, indoor reception), and Sun and Sparrow handled it perfectly. We gave them total artistic license, and we are glad that we did. While they are very receptive to suggestions, these girls are so creative and so talented that we completely trusted them with our images. Everything came out gorgeous. Look for Heather and Rameen’s Romantic Garden Wedding in Santa Barbara on their website. You’ll see why I gave them 5 stars.

When my husband and I started planning our wedding, we decided that photography was our top priority. Sure the venue, the food, the cake, the DJ/​music were important as well but a lot of times we found ourselves planning these items in accordance to what we thought our guests would need or like. Photography was the only item that we thought we were planning solely for us. It was so we can capture the memorable moments from our wedding and relive them for the rest of our lives through our pictures. Sun and Sparrow did not disappoint! They were professional and creative; they produced great quality photos and always went above and beyond expectations. A few things I loved about them that I wanted to highlight are below.
–Tiffani was very courteous, professional and organized in every meeting. I always felt confident that I was in good hands. I also really didn’t need to do much planning because she and Ellie, having been in the industry a while just always took care of everything photography-​related. They would often bring up things that I haven’t even considered. Saved me a lot of time and stress.
–Tiffani was always so responsive. Whether I call, email or text her, she always got back to me very quickly.
–The engagement shoot experience was awesome. I’m not a girly girl and I’m one of those who get burnt out from taking too many pictures. The 2+ hours we spent with them surprisingly turned out really fun. It was probably one of the best memories I had of our short time being engaged. The pictures also turned out amazing. We ended up with 320 pictures. Their work is consistent so I’ll have more details on the quality of photos in a later bullet point.
–Our wedding was a whole day affair. We started getting ready at 10 AM, had the ceremony at 2 PM, a tea ceremony at 4 and the reception from 6 to 11 PM. Tiffani and Ellie were with us the whole time and they stayed very professional and pleasant despite the long day.
–They dressed appropriately for the wedding. They actually dressed really nicely so goes well with the formal-​ish vibe of a wedding.
–I liked how I saw them a few times telling our guests to get out of our pictures. I mean I love my family and friends but sometimes they aren’t very considerate. I want nice pictures! I also witnessed them say no to some family asking to take more extended family pictures. We were trying to follow a specific wedding timeline so I’m glad they weren’t pushovers and they kept our wishes in mind.
–We got our pictures a month after the wedding and we ended up with 700 pictures. The pictures were great! They were clear/​sharp. The shots were creative. Also, the pictures looked natural. I thought when were were taking portraits that I looked awkward. But now that I’m looking at the pictures, we looked just so us. Our personalities come through and the emotions from the day were just so evident in the pictures. We love them a lot!
–My husband and I live in SF but had our wedding in LA. Tiffani was always flexible, meeting with us via a phone call or Skype in place of a face-​to-​face meeting.

I specifically chose Sun and Sparrow because we weren’t just in need of a photographer/​videographer for our wedding day, but a team that was fun and creative with just a dash of crazy to join us on this journey that included 3 separate photo shoots: a Boudoir photo session for my husband’s wedding gift, the actual wedding day, and a Day After photo shoot. These two girls are, in one word, AMAZING. Just one look at the photos and there’s no doubt their talent is ridiculous, but they are also kind, funny, supportive and smart, and we are so thankful they were the team to help us capture this time in our lives.
And as if the photography team wasn’t enough, our videographers, Aaron and Winston, are just as dynamite as Ellie and Tiffani! They did such a beautiful job on our short film that we went back and asked them to create a longer, edited version of the entire day. Not only are they extremely creative, but they are 100% focused on their clients needs, and they were more than happy to work with us to create the most beautiful memory. After going through the wedding planning process, you realize your vendors become team mates, and I would not hesitate to recommend these 4 to any bride.

Photography was the one of the most important aspects of wedding planning for us. We did not want to look back and regret choosing the wrong photographer! We found Sun and Sparrow after a friend used them for their wedding photos and we fell in love with their style of photography! I contacted Tiffani and we chose to do our both our wedding photos and video with them.
Sun and Sparrow made our wedding day absolutely PERFECT. A few days before the wedding, Tiffani called me and we went over the entire timeline for the wedding day. This was so helpful so that everyone in the bridal party knew exactly when and where to be at what times. Both Tiffani and Ellie did an amazing job at making sure the entire day went smoothly! We did not have to worry about a single thing that day. Tiffani did a great job at keeping the entire bridal party, family, and us on schedule the entire day. Ellie, Tiffani, and Claudia all took photos, and Aaron and Winston did our video. It was a lot people to have crowding around you on your wedding day, but they did an amazing job at staying out of the way to the point that you forgot they were even there. They made our entire wedding day feel effortless, and directed us on where to go and what to do. We were able to be in the moment and enjoy every aspect of our wedding thanks to them!
We were overwhelmed with our 1200 wedding photos. Every time we look at them, we find new ones that we love! So happy we used them for our wedding photography!

Looking for a wedding photographer may be one of the most overwhelming tasks in the wedding planning process. There are so many, how to you choose? Friends will try to get you to use their photographers and everyone will have an opinion. It is also likely to be one of the highest ticket items in your budget as well as the thing you will look back on for decades to come.
We started our photographer search by literally Google-​ing «Manhattan Beach Weddings». As we browsed through Google Images, every photo we were drawn to and really liked happened to be from Sun & Sparrow. They had a design aesthetic that we really liked and their photos were all so unique, really capturing the personalities of their couples.
Upon reaching out to them, our first email communications were very positive and when we had our first phone call the chemistry was immediate. We didn’t even interview other photographers once we learned that they were available on our wedding date.
Tiffani was amazing throughout the entire process. She asked all the right questions to ensure that all of our photos from the engagement session to the wedding day were uniquely us. She gave opinions and suggestions in a polite way, which we found to be so helpful since we had never gone through this process before. We were not planning on doing an engagement session originally but since it was included in our package we took advantage of it. This was one of the best parts of our photography process. We had the opportunity to meet Tiffani in person and learn how to work together and pose and then see how things look in the photos. This definitely made it so much easier on the wedding day.
Leading up to the wedding Tiffani was wonderful. She was so responsive to all the questions I had and kept me sane on so many fronts. Her expertise was pricesless and I wouldn’t have made it through the day without her. Her and Claudia were so professional and great on the wedding day. We got every shot we needed and none of our guests felt like the camera was stalking them.
Working with Elli on the actual pictures following the wedding has been so smooth. The process that they have set up to view your photos and album is so easy and convenient.
Most importantly, we absolutely LOVE our photos. We have gotten so many compliments from friends and family. We feel like we got every photo we had hoped for, even when we had crazy wind on our wedding day. Sun & Sparrow captured our wedding so beautifully that we are able to relive it every time we look through our photos. We highly recommend them.

I didn’t want to write a long review, but I couldn’t help myself! Here are just a few of the reasons my fiancé and I decided to go with Sun & Sparrow Photography:
1.) After all of the décor is taken down, the DJ & photobooth pack up, the guests go home, your hair and make up is undone, all of the flowers die, the food and cake is all eaten up – you get where I’m going with this — you’ll have your marriage, your memories, and photographs to show for it.

3.) Although we live in Southern California, we are getting married in Juneau, Alaska. Having a photography team that is

4.) Our experience with Tiffani cinched the deal. Tiffani has been very personable yet professional from our very first e-​mail conversation. She has been very easy to get a hold of, flexible, and reassuring which is absolute GOLD when you’re dealing with the stress of planning a wedding.
5.) Our engagement session was an absolute blast! The sisters were so much fun to work with and gave us so many great pointers as subjects of a photograph. The photos came out even better than we could have expected and we have LOVED being able to share them with everyone by linking them to Sun & Sparrow’s blog.
Not only am I excited for them to shoot our wedding but I will be thrilled to see them shoot for any of my friends. I would love to work with them again for another lifestyle shoot if the opportunity arises.

I, like a lot of little girls, used to play «princess». I would put on a white dress my mother had and hold audience with an unseen court. The identity and location of my prince? Well, I didn’t find that out until I was 32 years old.
We were engaged a little less than a year before tying the knot, but I believe the planning of one’s wedding truly begins in that doe-​eyed stage of adolescence. We carry a picture in our head of our most special of days, conceived when the heart and mind are most unfettered.
It is a truly incredible feeling to see that picture brought to life, more vibrant in color, sound and texture than you ever imagined.

Truly, Sun & Sparrow is aptly named. They warmed our hearts and sent them soaring. The people behind the company are consummate professionals, beyond talented, and profoundly caring. Invest in them, and they will return it over and over again in a way that can not be quantified.

I myself am a pretty avid amateur photographer who recently got married. My family joked that I must be devastated that I can’t take pictures at my own wedding. So I vowed to at least find the best photographer around.
My then-​fiancée (now wife) and I went through dozens of photographers, and singled out Sun & Sparrow as the best, especially for outdoors, because of their great use of natural light.

Tiffani was our photographer and let me tell you, as a bride who was planning her wedding in the midst of a crazy cross-​country move, getting a new job, and graduating from professional school, I was very stressed and had little to no time to plan the wedding. Tiffani was incredibly understanding and FLEXIBLE with us as we planned our wedding. She utilized all means of communication with us such as Skype, text, phone calls, google docs, and facebook. I was amazed at her ability to communicate with us and provide her insight as we planned our wedding.
It is really important you choose a photographer you are comfortable with because you will be spending a lot of time with that person. Tiffani was a perfect match for us. She was enthusiastic, friendly, and honest. Tiffani was also interested in telling our story and I really appreciated that. My husband and I are kind of shy and awkward in front of the camera, but Tiffani made sure we were comfortable and that our special story was told.
Before our engagement shoot, Tiffani and I brainstormed for almost an hour or two hours on how to best tell our story. She then even went the extra mile and brought her own props to enhance our pictures!
At our wedding, she was an excellent director during our family pictures to make sure everyone knew where they were standing and where to look. It can be a chaotic time for the bride and groom trying to manage their families, but with Sun and Sparrow their to direct everyone, it was VERY stress-​free! They were all incredibly professional and made sure keep us comfortable throughout.
Also, Sun and Sparrow was a good company to work with because they offered Videography!
In terms of cost, I was one of those brides who searched high and low for good pricing AND good skills. I usually found super expensive photographers with good pictures, or really really cheap photographers but a terrible product. Sun and Sparrow was very reasonable in terms of our budget and they produce a HIGH QUALITY product at the end! It depends on your personal wedding budget, but for us, they were PERFECT.
