Almost everyone succumbs to the lure of fast food once in awhile. It hits me about 3 – 4 times a year. I am usually satisfied in a superficial way, but experience a twinge of guilt and almost always a sense of regret. The regret comes mainly from the fact that I don’t enjoy the food as much as the commercials would seem to suggest. And that instead of rolling up my sleeves to make something, or doing the research to find a more pleasing option, I just mindlessly go to the national chain. So it goes with this location of Popeyes. It is really close by, and I see it and smell it almost weekly. I’ve visited a few times before, probably about once a year. Today I sampled onion rings and their spicy tenders. The rings were real and decent too, though now that I’ve experienced them I would not reorder. The tenders were a bit better, spicy and crunchy but also slightly dry. After today’s fix I would probably not order them again either. They make a $ 1.99 loaded chicken wrap which is a pretty good bargain if you just need something quick to drive away with, it contains their rice and beans along with the tenders of your choice. Although I can’t claim fandom, and readily admit to having no conscious desire to return soon, I think there are a few reasons why the reader might decide to give this spot a try. 1) the employees are friendly and patient, even with folks like me who are easily confused by fast food ordering. 2) you tend to get extra food here, my 5 piece tenders was easily 8. Other reviews have noted this trend as well. Pro tip: ask for napkins at the register, they seem to keep a tight reign over them.

I would say«what’s with all the bad reviews?» but I’ve been here enough times to know the sort of people that come here with unreasonable expectations of fast food. They stomp in and demand their food be ready within a microsecond, complain that their food is cold when steam is visibly wafting off of it, and pester the employees for free things while they are trying to help other customers. I don’t have high expectations of a fast food restaurant, but this Popeyes has consistently good chicken. Tender, juicy, not much to say other than it’s what you would expect, or better. I’ve been to Popeyes locations that overcook their chicken or let it sit and get old and gross, not this one. They also give you extra chicken, or at least they do for me. If I order a 3 piece tenders combo I usually get 5 or 6 pieces. I didn’t expect to like this place, but I keep coming back every time I need something quick before a long drive or a trip to the laundromat. The staff is friendly and you can see them working fast during rushes. The manager is also very nice and accommodating to customers with very large orders who might have to wait longer than others. This is the best fast food in the area. I’m completely done with Taco Bell, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, etc. This is the only place I can get something quick and not feel sick to my stomach afterwards, even after 16 oz of the sweetest sweet tea you’ll ever drink.

I was craving some fried shrimp for dinner… And happened to see a popeyes commercial having a new hush-puppy shrimp meal… So i decide to give it a try…1st off the shrimp were the size of a nickel… there was nothing hush-puppy about them… they were pretty spicy actually. and i think i got more tails in my box then shrimp… they forgot my fries… and forgot my tarter sauce… thank you for wasting my money and making me go out and get something else… i’ll never come back here… i guess that’s what i get for buying any type of seafood dish at a fast food dump… as a matter of fact… i want my money back !!!

Great place! I prefer this location over the location in Ewing. Although this place sometimes runs out of stuff, drinks and sodas included, it is way better than the location on North Olden! The staff is amazing! They are very friendly. They always get my order right. 2 thumbs up :) service is fast unless it’s busy, even then, service is good.

Obviously Popeyes has a great menu but this location makes it so hard to have anything on that menu. The service ABSOLUTELY sucks! They told me a 15 – 20 minute wait for 10 piece original chicken and told me to have a seat and they would call me once my order was up. Just the mere fact that I decided to wait that long was enough for me to flip out when I went back up to register 25 minutes later and the cashier realized she gave my order to someone who came in after me. I worked in customer service for 10 years and this Popeyes is just an absolute joke. What I’ve mentioned is just a portion of what is wrong with their service and ethics. Have yet to have a good experience with them and after today I’d rather not even try to see if they could EVER redeem themselves!

The slowest and worst Popeye’s I’ve ever been to. It’s a shame that you have to wait 15 – 20 min. for anything because they are always out of all the popular items. It doesn’t matter what time of day or which day of the week… It’s always horrible.

I think the food here is usually good but the problem is they are out of a lot of things on the menu or they have to make it so you end up waiting like 15 minutes for your food. Popeye’s was trying to make a drive through at this location I can’t imagine how that would work when it takes FOREVER to get your food there. It cracks me up when you see tv ads for new items on the menu at Popeyes but when you go there to order it they say they don’t have it and they have posters in the window advertising it. Ill stick with K.F.C.

Always busy but manager does have a smile on. Although they’re bit messy and all over the place but attitude is the key to make it a decent experience.

Very small portions to the point of a absurdity.(Take a look at the photo I posted) And for some reason they don’t have napkins. Go somewhere else instead of waiting your time and money here. If you do get food from here you’ll need to get a second lunch somewhere else since you’ll still be hungry.

Chicken nuggets are super good, a bit more expensive than regular fast food but still reasonable.

The chicken’s not bad, but the service sucks. A large mash potatoes is only ¾ full, they don’t take Amex, they talk about you in Spanish if they bungled your order — in front of you btw, and lets you wait for the wings without telling you.
