These guys are the best. Came here to wax/​edge my old snowboard, which was ready bright and early the following morning. When I picked it up, the staff hinted that I may not be riding to my full potential due to the fact that my board is super old and stiff (I’ve had it for almost 10 years, and am pretty attached to it, even though I know it’s a fossil.)
Anyway, I boarded that day on ol’ faithful and the wax/​edge were great, but I was curious about what they said about its stiffness, so I ended up going back to TSH again the next morning to demo a board and they gave it me at a major discount (guess they felt bad for me cuz I just spent $ 45 to fix up my old P.O.S. board?)
Needless to say, I was very thankful for their advice, because the board I demo’ed absolutely floated across the powder, and I was even more thankful for their AWESOME customer service.

Came to Tahoe to ski for the weekend and stopped in to get some gear. I’m a beginner so I had a lot of basic questions and rather than being helpful the service rep that helped me was a complete jerk. So arrogant. Worst customer service ever. Stay away from this place unless you enjoy being treated like dirt.

If you are looking for friendly, knowledgeable staff, you should shop at Tahoe Sports Hub. I went in looking for new ski’s and they not only helped me choose the right pair but they suggested I test a couple pairs out first before purchasing. They offer good prices too.

Made my skis sooo fast, giys in this place no there stuff, was in there the other day got my skis waxed and grinded was like a hole new world i beat all my bros down to the chamois and that meant beers onTHEM! Get down withe best in town at ja hub you wont reegret it

This is the best outdoor gear shop in Truckee!
The employees here are terrific. No one here tries to «sell» you on any gear! They wait for you to initiate interest and they help guide you to the gear that fits your budget and your needs. No time is spent convincing you to drop money on expensive stuff you didn’t even come to buy. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to walk into an outdoor gear store in Truckee and not be haggled or pressured by staff. Not to mention that this shop is totally dog friendly! What a plus!
Jay, one of the employees here, spent a ton of time with me over several different visits made to the Hub to help me chose a new ski set up. He really listened to my needs and helped guide me to finding the gear that fit my needs. They even mounted my new set up for free.
Next, the Hub’s rental/​demo department is extensive. They have everything you need for winter exploration. Backcountry set ups, XC set ups, snowshoes, etc. Prices are lower than other places in town.
The consignment section of the store is immense. Great deals on decent gear. I got a pair of used tele boots for a great price.

I shopped every store in Truckee looking for a helmet for snowboarding today. Over the course of my search I returned to Tahoe Sports Hub three times and I think I probably spoke to and helped every employee in the store. All were not only knowledgeable, but super helpful and patient. What a contrast to several other shops that barely have you the time of day. I top of all else, they have quality merchandise at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends or family. Thank you!

Great shop, most of the employees are super nice and guy with a big beard help make our trip great! One employee showed us mountain bike trails and helped us with maps. We ended up spending a fair amount of money because of there helpfulness. They do have one grouchy guy in the bike department, both days we went in he was working in bike repair and was really rude. If he hates his job he should quit. Would have been a 5 star experience if it were not for him!

I bought my climbing rack here instead of online. The staff was key in helping me decide on a couple of pieces. Plus they sell hollow blocks, um, yeah! Sure you can get those online, but why when it can be bought locally in Truckee.
Got my wife’s first set of alpine skis and binding from the consignment shop, too. Lots of quality stuff in there.

Corey is the best for educating and fitting you for ski boots. I have been looking for new ski boots that are easy to get in and out of and comfortable to wear. I had surgery on my big toe and a rod inserted so I cannot bend it very much. I have needed new boots forever but was unable to find anything that fit my needs. Corey convinced me to trust him about the «Intuition» liner that «Full-​tilt» boots use after heat-​molding it. It makes a huge difference. He told me to return after putting in a few days, to see if I needed any tweeks. I’m excited to try them out.

Five thumbs up. These guys know their stuff and are always willing to share the knowledge. Laid back, genuinely friendly.
I’m still getting used to calling it Tahoe Sports Hub, but the name change makes total sense. I like checking the consignment shop upstairs (scored tons of great stuff over the years, particularly for the fast-​growing groms), but increasingly I view the shop as the place to go for new gear. The selection keeps getting bigger and better, they seem to be diversifying, and they’re committed to supporting the local scene. The place feels like Truckee. If you remember Thousand Mile, or Alpenglow when it was in the old stone garage, you know what I’m talking about.

Looked for good kid snowboard boots all over town, with zero success. We tried this place on the off chance they would have something, and they had multiple options with great prices! Customer support was excellent as well, and they even fitted Sadie with insoles to help her narrow feet fit better in the boots. We’ll choose this place first next time.

Such incredible service!!! Best snowboard/​ski equipment shop we’ve found. They know EXACTLY how to size boots! I had gone to both all mountain and sports basement in San Jose; neither place sized me with only the liner; all mountain ended up selling me a boot 2 sizes too big!!! Kenny at Tahoe Sports Hub fitted me perfectly. If you are looking for high quality, fair prices, and incredible service and perfect fitting, this is your place! We will definitely be back for all of our future gear needs.

I’ve been here numerous time. First couple times I went last winter and the service was definitely not on the friendly side, though I did really like the dog in there. This summer we came back and service was much better. Bought some hiking boots, a couple bathing suits 40% off for an end of summer sale and was happy with everything. Came back the next day to rent paddle boards and everything was smooth sailing. I would definitely come back in the future.

After calling everyone in Tahoe basin looking for a Tahoe SUP Bliss Sport board, the manufacturer tipped me off that the last shipment of the year was going here. [Angels from the heavens sang.] I called The Sports Exchange and they were really easy to work with. I put a deposit down over the phone with Danny and he called me when my board arrived. I drove 3.5 hours solo each way on Labor Day weekend to retrieve the board and it was worth the pain. Love my board!
Danny and the guys at the shop took excellent care of me. Got me set up with what I needed, bagged the board, strapped it on my SUV, and cut my paddle to the right length. They patiently answered my 101 questions about caring for the paddle board. Good people.
