Baggin’s Gourmet Sandwiches

I usually love baggins. The southwest tuna has always been my fave, but not today. I was hands down the worst experience at baggins I’ve ever had. I waited 30 minutes for my sandwich (when they weren’t even busy). By the time I finally got my sandwich it was cold and looked like it was mildly toasted. It even came with extras, like lettuce, and this sandwich doesn’t come with lettuce unless you ask for it, and i sure didn’t. I asked for them to make me another one, rushed for time since my lunch was now half over. I waited till i got to work to eat, and it was a hot mess, the tuna was burning hot, the jalapenos were thick and are usually finely chopped. it was just a big soggy HOT mess. I was so upset. i seriously threw away more than half of this sandwich.

Came across Baggin’s while looking for another deli in the Williams Blvd area and decided to give it a try. Went for the Baggins Turkey sandwich, and later, the Baggins Prime (sliced beef). Each sandwich ordered as advertised, without modifications. They use cream cheese to good effect, without excess of any one ingredient or condiment, for a good balance and a very tasty sandwich. Also, each sandwich has a cookie included. Very tasty!

Had a veggie sandwich with no mayo which they got correct, but I’m not sure what kind of cream cheese they put on it cuz I couldn’t taste it. Maybe they don’t put enough on it. When the lady asked my name we had a convo about people getting my name wrong, so for sure I thought she’d remember it and how to pronounce it. nope of course not. If customers are important you should pay attention to their names! I’d give 5 stars if they would’ve paid attention to my name.

Despite the lunch rush, food was out in a breeze. Today I ordered the albacore tuna salad without a bread bowl and added avocado, also an iced tea, I paid less than $ 10. Great value for the speed and price. Best «fast-​food» chain out there. I go for lunch at least 2x a month. The sandwiches are stellar also. A healthy lunch option!

I’ve ordered from this location several times, having it delivered to my place of work. While delivery can take a little while (it’s lunchtime in Tucson, so I get it) the food is amazing! The sandwiches are always great, the bread has the perfect springy texture and the fillings are hot or cold– depending on how you order, not the opposite. I can only speak for the cole slaw side, but as a picky cole slaw fan, I love theirs.
I also rely on them to help me tame my sweet tooth! The little cookies are the cutest touch, and the cakes are so good they make me jealous mine never come out this good. If you like sammies, see these guys! They’ll take care of you

Needed a lunch spot while in Tucson for a few days and obviously opened Unilocal to find what was close. So glad I decided on this little gem. It was fairly busy for a Monday afternoon, I decided on the chicken salad sandwich (chicken rojo I believe). Very tasty, buttery croissant. The cranberries and almonds made this sandwich and it was gone in a matter of seconds. I was offered a cookie in line, and it was so damn good I ordered one to go (the big ones) not realizing one would come with my sandwich. I’m a huge foodie so I also saw in the tips to get some of the rum cake. I am stuffed but will have to update my review once I try the cake– and I’m looking forward to my big giant cookie tomorrow!

It was packed for lunch, which is usually a good sign. Staff was friendly, and the menu is prominent, although some of the things were hard to find (like sizes/​prices of the soups). I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato basil soup — classic combo. Cashier asked if I wanted bacon, and I gave her the ‘obviously, why are you even asking me’ look. She was very pleasant to deal with. After a few minutes my friend got his food. Then a few minutes later the «delivery lady» came out with my food, said my name and what was in the bag, and handed it to the first person she saw. I saw it happen and asked her if I heard correctly, and that her words matched my name and order. Then I suggested that maybe she just gave away my order; meanwhile the random guy was looking inside the bag all puzzled. She asked me again what I ordered and that she will go check on my order, whilst the mystery man just got up suspiciously and left (with the bag, obviously). I’m not a genius, but I figured out what happened right away after having about 10 minutes of experience at Baggin’s. I thought maybe she would have caught on, but I decided to be polite and they just ended up making me a new order. However, I forgot to tell her that my grilled cheese had bacon in it… FAIL.

Hate giving bad reviews, but I can’t hold back this time… I ordered a sandwich called Albuquerque Turkey, which is a turkey sandwich with swiss cheese, onions, green hot-​n-​sweet peppers and barbeque sauce on a grilled sub roll — according to the description in the menu. Sounds nice? It did to me… but I was wrong. The sandwich came with such incredible abundance of the barbecue sauce that all other ingredients tasted flat like paper, while the sauce was salty well beyond the level of traditional soy sauces. Additionally, the swiss cheese was completely missing from the sandwich, and the supposed «sub roll» was nothing more then the Yankee Stadium hot dog bun, which you buy at Walmart for $ 1 a dozen,
… and for the cherry on top, they forgot to grill it, and so the sandwich was wet and mushy. All that said, there was absolutely no way to enjoy the turkey or the onions or the peppers. This sandwich was a complete «klusterfrack» and represents everything that’s wrong with the American fast food culture. This place is *not* selling gourmet sandwiches and should be called sloppy bum’s po-​boys. A very badly spent eight dollars. This place must be nothing more then the abstract paradise for the seriously overweight city hall workers from across the street. God bless.

Overall, I’m not crazy about Baggin’s (This is one of three I’ve been to in the Tucson area) but this one has a much larger and more varied menu than the other two locations, which is what makes it great! Their sandwiches are average but I used to come here with coworkers all the time when I worked nearby and I love their salads, especially the bbq chicken. Yum!
Also, since their name is «Baggin’s» I totally think they should have something Tolkien inspired (particularly when the movies were coming out?) on their menu. I honestly stopped here for the first time BECAUSE of the name so it surprised me that they didn’t have anything related to that as part of restaurant.
And as many people have mentioned, their cookies are amazing.

I ordered my sandwich to go and it was a veggie and I asked for it with no mayo.
Definitely had mayo on it, and lots of it! I had never had baggins before but probably won’t go back.
I did like the 12 grain bread though. And the spice tea has so much cinnamon I couldn’t even stomach it, neither could my coworker.

I drove all the way from Seal Beach, CA just to eat here! Okay, well maybe I needed to see my Mom. But between us Baggins is the true reason! Ohhhhhh Unforgettable Baggins with light sprouts and extra avocado… I love you more than my husband. I ordered three sandwiches to go. Then I pulled my car around to the where the old Cactus Moon used to be and I ate like a girl who just got parole from fat camp. I saved one sandwich for my Mom and slowly enjoyed every ounce of your ice tea,
I will be back for more!!!

Unforgettable Baggin’s Sandwich is fantastic and cookies are amazing. Menu is confusing, sides are mostily terrible and one of the lunch cashiers is very rude at this site. Why a 4? Those cookies are amazing!

This place was recommended by the Residence Inn right behind the complex. I went there for lunch, not expecting much. The sandwich was awesome. I got the Albuquerque Chicken Toasted sandwich. The sandwich roll was made in house, and perfectly toasted. Chicken was well cooked, and well seasoned. The peppers and barbecue sauce were an awesome touch which added a little tang. The price was fine for a «gourmet «sandwich. The free chocolate chip cookie was a nice touch.
I only planned to eat half a sandwich, but devoured the whole thing. I’m definitely going to be back. It’s too bad my business trip is only overnight.

Baggins is awesome. I’ve been coming for years. Slightly more in price but worth it. I love the «cowboy» and the «unforgettable». I also get the rum cake I shouldn’t but I do :)

Great and unique menu, different from a regular sandwich shop like subway. The staff make it easy on you by bringing your order to your table. Love their southwest tuna!

This is one of my favorite spots to grab lunch. The unforgettable is amazing. The chicken bow tie pasta salad is a must try! The tomato basil soup is heavenly. And fresh baked cookies while I wait in line? Yea please! Seriously. You will not be disappointed by anything on the menu… Oh and the bread bowl salads are heavenly! I love them!!!

A coworker recommended this location of Baggins to me for lunch today and it was awesome! I didn’t know they had grilled cheese sandwiches, especially on sourdough bread. So I got the gourmet grilled cheese, and a lemonade/​iced tea fusion. What made this better, was the free chocolate chip cookie!
Amazing experience.

Baggin’s always delivers. Literally.
Whenever we’re in a bind at work and need lunch for a meeting, Baggin’s is the #1 choice. When the Pima location burned a few years back I was worried that using a different store would mean compromising on the level of service but I am happy to report that Baggin’s on Broadway has NEVER disappointed.
Whether it is individual, specialized orders or one of their sandwich boxes where they arrange a variety of sandwich quarters in a lovely box and give you everything you need for your meal — it’s always just right.
Their delivery folks are always on time or even early and extremely polite. Baggin’s could be a 5-​star Unilocal review if they’d just pack their sandwiches a little fuller because everyone likes a little more for their money, right?
Oh, and that Sundown Baggin’s sandwich — Thanksgiving all year ’round!

I really want to give this place 5 stars. REALLY.
I love their turkey sandwiches. I personally think it’s some of the best turkey I’ve ever had. Always a fan of the cookies (I usually get extras). Their tomato basil soup is great. Has a nice little kick to it.
But the accuracy of their orders is really hit or miss. I have what I like to call «The Baggins Curse.» Almost every time I order, it comes out wrong. I don’t know what’s so complicated about grilling my sandwich, but apparently it is. I’ve gone as far as complaining to their President, VP, etc (their emails are listed on their websites). Marsha, the store manager was quick to comp my meal the next time I came in. Now every time I order online, there is a line on my receipt there that says SEE MARSHA so I know it is getting checked over again. I usually order from there once a week or every other week.
Today I had an online order, and went to pick up in store. Marsha handed me my food and I thought, well this should be correct. I get to work — sandwich wasn’t grilled.
I’ve given them my last cent for awhile. For a place that charges $ 7/​sandwich, I feel like it should be accurate.
I’m really disappointed because their food is fantastic. But as often as I order from this place, I think it’s time to move on.

I grew up on Baggins, and it still is one I my favorite sandwich spots. It’s not the best, but every time I come back to Tucson, I always come back and never leave disappointed.
The club is my go-​to, but the Unforgettable is equally delicious. The sandwiches are just the right size so you don’t have that awkward ¹⁄₃ of bread and lettuce left over that you’re too full to finish. Instead of chips, I always get the sesame noodle salad which I think is the best side. So what if the free chocolate chip cookie makes you feel like a kid? It’s a delicious way to finish the meal.
