D&D Pinball

A great new addition to Tucson.
I used to play a lot of pin ball when I was a kid so when I come here, it is totally nostalgic. They have everything from Adam Family to Star Trek. They are also BYOB, which is nice.

This is a nostalgic arcade that has a great selection of classic and modern pinball games. Most of the games play well. A couple of my favorites are here — Lord of the Rings & Addams Family.

Rather surprised at the abrasive response from the owner when I asked for quarters …
«I have an assistant somewhere around» he grumbled!
Also there is a sign on the bathroom that says ‘office’ and another exclaiming there is no public restroom.
Disappointed after hearing high reviews from friends. The machines are fun but the vibe was really absent following my ‘welcoming’ as a first time customer. On the plus side my kids enjoyed experiencing the lost art … but won’t be back.

Very cool little pinball place situated just north of downtown Tucson. This place had some really cool old school machines as well as newer ones. Prices ranged from $.25 -$.75 per play with the more expensive ones being the newer pinballs. Overall the place was clean and fun. I really enjoyed the hour I spent here and would definitely return.

Exactly what is sells itself to be. Pinball and lots of it. Excellent selection and reasonable prices. Machines all take actual quarters… no token nonsense here!

So happy to see a place like this still exists. Being your dollars bring some quarters because this place is hours of fun. There are some vintage machines and newer ones and range from a quarter to three quarters. There are also pac man machines! The attendant is really helpful if something goes wrong-​like a quarter getting stuck.
Only thing is I wish they sold beer!

Very cool space in a happening part of town. Lots of machines to play but many down for repairs too. Several that we played were in need of adjustment and that is where D&D starts to loose a star.
The guy playing a machine next to us lifted, dropped, and shoved it in what appeared to be frustration. I made a comment to my friend that if that guy was treating one of my machines like that he would be asked to leave. Turns out that it was the repair guy that works there and this is apparently part of his trouble shooting routine.
When we were playing Freddy Kruger and a ball got stuck he lifted the machine several inches causing the head to hit the wall and bend, dropped it, banged it, then finally pulled the glass to dislodge the ball. With treatment like this it’s no wonder many of their machines either don’t work or need adjustment. These are machines to be preserved and enjoyed, not beaten into submission!
I will definitely be back when in Tucson again but am not looking forward to seeing this guy abuse his machines.

Such a fun place and a great idea! Just make sure you have coins! Definitely consider stopping here if you are out on 4^th one night!

So much fun. Go back in time and play some pinball. Have a great time with so many games to pick from. I had to stop because my hands hurt so bad after three hours of pinball. Fun for all ages.

This place was a total gym. Really excited we found it. Worth the trip and they have a change machine.

This place is really cool! I’ve never been a huge pinball fan, but I actually enjoyed coming in here with my wife and some friends. We went in on a whim, hearing the fun pinball noises and seeing all the vibrant lights coming out of the shop.
They have all kinds of machines here, everything from really really old classic ones to new machines (I saw a Walking Dead machine).
Prices range from $ 0.50 for 5 balls to $ 0.75 for 3 balls, and there’s obviously a quarter machine there, so bring your dollas (or quarters if you have them).

If you’re down on 4^th, definitely check out this blast from the past! I have an uncle that has a few classic pinball tables and so I recognize a couple of the same ones. Average prices as arcades go but the pinball tables take me back to the boardwalks on the east coast. Addams family, star wars, star trek, and numerous others.
If you like pinball or are looking for something different, you won’t be disappointed. It’s set a bit off of 4^th Ave down a side street so I missed it a couple times. Great place and of course reasonable prices for 2015.

Coolest place ever!!! It’s off to the side on 4^th and my boyfriend and I went and it was definitely the coolest date we’ve been on. It’s different and unique and most of the machines just require a quarter to play! At the most I believe it was 75 cents but that usually gave you like 3 balls to use that seemed to never end lol

So many different pinball machines that are all themed to a specific movie or tv show. Find your favorite. If you’re lucky then you’ll come across one that just keeps giving you chances. I counted about 10 turns on one machine that I hadn’t even put a single quarter into. I guess someone else got bored and abandoned it. Everyone needs some nastalgia in their life every now and then.

This place is pretty cool! Around 30 pinball machines right off of 4^th Ave. Most of the games are 50 cents, but a few are 75, and there’s a change machine. My wife and I dropped by on a Friday. I thought pinball wasn’t that popular anymore but there were a dozen or so people at any one time.
The selection of games is pretty good too, with a few really old games, to games from the 70s/​80s like Star Trek and Star Wars, to newer ones like The Lord of the Rings. There’s also a crazy 2-​player competitive basketball pinball game that was really fun (even though we had no idea what we were doing!).
If you’re in the area, check it out sometime. It’s a fun and inexpensive way to spend an hour or two.

I was having a leisurely walk down 4^th Avenue, checking out the eclectic shops and restaurants. Out of the corner of my eye, just off 4^th… D&D Pinball. I LOVE pinball. It’s a relic in most arcades (if you can call them that now, more like entertainment centers.)
I’m so glad I had jammed a $ 20 in my wallet before I left, in case of parking, etc. I walked in and all the sounds and lights were so nostalgic! The nice man in the back broke my $ 20 and then I headed to the change machine for my fistful of quarters. I had to walk by each machine carefully to see which ones I would play as I knew I had some limited time to play.
I decided my first was Walking Dead. Super fun. Also played Simpsons and AC/​DC. It was a blast. Only thing missing was my giant red super rope. Thanks D&D!

Great place to take the kids, little and big. Very clean, open and fun. They are open extra hours for the summer.

Finally, pinball in Tucson. Lots of lovingly cared for pinball machines. Many horror themed machines which are my favorites. They seem to have special showcase machines regularly too. Friendly staff. Wish they were open later but we understand not wanting drunks damaging the machines.

This place is so much fun! I never would have thought to go play pinball on my own but I had such a good time when I finally went! I’ve returned several times and I always have fun. It’s nice that something so simple and wholesome from a whole different era can still entertain today. This place seems to be really popular. It’s fun just looking at all the different pinball machines-​who knew an Elton John pinball machine existed? They seem to cycle the machines which is really cool.
There’s a change machine for those who don’t come prepared with quarters. And an ATM nearby to get cash (though not inside of the pinball place). So there’s no excuse not to play!

This is the place that Faygo RedPop, pixie sticks, and slap bracelets were made for.
My buddy decided to take me on a detour from 4^th Avenue on a Saturday night to shut it down at an unassuming commercial space ripped literally out of our idyllic childhood summers: D&D Pinball.
Oh how nostalgic it was: the crisp smack of levers hitting metallic spheres perfectly into a make-​shift worm-​hole — watching it glide swiftly through elevated rails, only to vanish beneath your view and suddenly burst randomly from a blind corner, racing impossibly toward the gap between the levers. It all happens in a blink but you, without thinking, instinctively, masterfully hit the perfect return and save the ball from an untimely death in the abyss. You glance up at Rod Serling as he stands in a trans-​dimensional door way, shooting a knowing gaze at you with a smirk of respect at your victory.
Or you lose your last turn, walk away and decide you’d rather try the Creature from the Black Lagoon instead. I counted around 30 different pinball machines: all of them immaculately restored as if Marty McFly and Doc Brown had delivered them personally from 1985 on the locomotive time-​machine. But what arguably is even more nostalgic is the no-​frills, old school atmosphere: the lack of A/​C, and the overhead ceiling fans, the dusty concrete floor steaming from the brow-​sweat of obsessive players on their third cycle of the night.
Perhaps it’s the craft brews at nearby Tap & Bottle that make this place so hypnotic, or maybe the concept of winning millions of points after just a few minutes but I shamelessly admit that it brought out the inner last-​star-​fighter in me. They even installed an antique Pepsi machine with the wide buttons, and added the sublime touch of charging 75 cents for a soda!
I hear they also hold tournaments if you’re a die-​hard player and even display current champions proudly on a large board hung from the ceiling as you walk in. It may not be for everyone but you ever spent your childhood/​adolescent summers getting ice cream or soda at a local pizza shop or convenience store — this place just might take you back there for a moment, and maybe even swing you past Rylos to take on the Ko-​Dan mothership.
